Default Magic Knights: The aftermath

Kay a gentle hearted fae with soft caring eyes on an angular face fumed over her own stupidity.
"Of course they would keep their rear guarded!" She yelled her voice filled with anger and self loathing, as she slammed her fist into the ground. "How by the mother of all, could I have been so god damned idiotic." She added as she looked across the small clearing that they were sitting in to see her second in command. The man that had saved her life not ten minutes ago at the cost of his own life.
"Ma'am, we should leave before any more from the casters clan decides to show up." A young unison device said as he flew from among the forty odd people she had under her command.
"You're right Tu'agi" She said as she looked up bring the back of her arm across her face to wipe away the tears that she had been crying as she composes her self she stands back up to her full height of approximately six feet. She looked over the unison device that she had come to know and respect over the last four years his hair was as red as ever and his eyes, those crimson eyes that could make any one shiver, She found herself once again thanking the ancients that he was on their side and not against them.
"Ok Pull out" She commanded her people as she bent the wind to her will filling her wings which she had spread and launched up into the air.

Everything seemed to be going well on their homeward flight until Tu'agi appeared at Kay's side. "Ma'am there's a group of Elite casters following us moving at an incredible rate of speed. If we don't act shortly none of us will survive." He spoke and concern filled his voice .
"Right" She said her voice sounding confident again, the confidence that only showed itself when one knew what they had to do and didn't question it. "Do not stop until the lot of you are safe and sound with in the stronghold. That's an order!" She commanded her soldiers as she spun on the spot and faced the oncoming enemies. "You too Tu'agi, get going." She said as she saw the little unison Device beside her.
"But ma'am you'll be overwhelmed." He said his voice soft as if he was fighting to keep control of himself.
"I Can't protect the lot of you if you're here fighting with me now go!" She ordered and he turned and flew after the others not risking her rath. "I'll meet you at the stronghold." She called after him with her mind.
"You'd better." Was all that he sent back to her but by his mental notes she could tell that he already felt that he would never see her again. So it was that she doubted as well.
"Goodbye..." She spoke those last words softly to herself as she felt dread well up inside her and a tear streaked down her cheek.

"Chazoi." She said to her device and the last companion that she knew she couldn't order away.
"Yes Ma'am" the golden bracelet responded with a warm metallic voice.
"It's been an honor to serve with you." She replied her voice sounding as if it had when her parents first died. "Set up." she said giving the order for Chazoi to change to combat form.
"Don't count us out just yet." Chazoi responded before changing shape to a bigger bracelet and changing the clothes that Kay was wearing to her magical armor. After that she had barely a minute till the elite squad was on top of her and she found herself fighting them, She couldn't tell you how many she bested or how long she was fighting as it goes with battle. Each and every second is as an hour and every minute days. She found her strength beginning to fail her and her breathing was becoming labored. As black dots filled her field of vision she felt herself falling and was unable to continue as she passed into the comfort of the darkness that was unconciousness.

An indeterminable amount of time later she awoke to find herself chained to a wall in what she would describe as a dungeon but she couldn't be sure. She felt to tired to even move to pull against the chains that bound her to the wall but to her relief Chazoi was still on her wrist however in her standby form to hide her presence.

Archos had been chained to another wall in the dungeon a few days before the faery was brought in. He had indured many sessions of torture in which he would be asked countless questions that he couldn't answer. He had no idea why they hadn't just killed him in the first place, rather than bring him to a dungeon to do it.

Archos was certain that he could escape from the chains, however logic prevented him from doing so. He had no idea whether he was underground, or above it. He also hadn't a clue of how many people were actually guarding the place he was being kept. He didn't want to chance charging into a horde of casters, only to be brought down and recaptured or killed. If only there were someone else to help.. He often found himself thinking, as he stared into the darkness of his captor's dungeon.

When the faery was brought in, Archos' hopes for escape jumped. She was unconscious, but Archos figured that she had to be a follower of the ancients. There was nobody else, at least that he could think of, that the casters would capture. Garus was laying on a table between the two, but Archos knew that his device was relieved as well.

The faery was out for a day, or so Archos thought, with no cue from the sun, before she woke up. Archos noticed immediately, as he had been watching her closely the whole time. In his excitement, he almost shouted a hello to her. Then he thought better of it; he didn't know if there were people near the door to the room. Let alone where the door was.
Instead, he whispered across to her. "Good morning." He began and continued with a more direct question, "Are you, by chance, a mage of the ancients?"

Kay heard a voice her head flicking up as she noticed another person chained to the wall opposite her. "Good morning." He began and continued with a more direct question, "Are you, by chance, a mage of the ancients?"

she heard him ask and felt a small surge of hope deep with in her stomach.
'So I'm not as alone in this as I thought I was Chazoi' she thought smiling before remembering her mannerisms and responding "I am." She did not dare to reveal her name in the case that someone was listening to her. "I take it you serve the ancients as well?" she responded in kind not asking for details of who he was lest it reveal something that shouldn't be revealed. She scanned the room, with exception of a table that had the other persons device on it the room was bare. The chains against her wrist felt cold and she wasn't entirely sure of there location but if she knew the casters they would be approximately twelve feet under Kalica city, the capital of their empire. Chazoi scanned the room with out making a sound and confirmed the other Devices identity and shared there own with it as surely as if it were an every day situation that they were in.

When the woman said she was a mage, Archos' heart leapt even more. Before he responded again, he looked to his left and right. Something done more out of habit when he didn't want to be heard, than actually looking for someone to be in the room with them. He knew nobody was there, it had only been around ten minutes since another guard left.

"Yes, I am" Archos responded to the fae's question. Then he continued, "I wound up here the same as you, unconscious and bound." His voice lowered slightly for the rest of what he had to say. He spoke just loud enough for the fae to hear. "I can get the both of us out of here, too. Wherever here may be. They were stupid enough to try and restrain a summoner with nothing but a chain. Then even stupider to leave my device with me." He nodded toward the book on the table as he mentioned his device. Though he was sure she already knew that was what the book was. "The only reason I haven't tried, is because I'm not sure how to handle the guards. I know there are at least five different elite casters that I've seen. I'm sure there are more. There are even more problems if we are in a city of any kind." Archos explained his doubts, causing his feeling of hope to slowly fade away. He wasn't entirely sure if one other mage would be enough.
