Default Nilithos: The Apocalypse Begins

Nilithos: The Apocalypse Begins OOC - The OOC Thread

======

Rhaebold was cold. The wind was pouring onto his face from the sky, with the added addition of the pelts of rain. It'd been raining all day now in the Human Kingdom, and the weather didn't look as if it was going to get even a little better. Even his armoured bulk couldn't keep the snap of the weather away. He frowned beneath his horned helmet. His mind was thinking over several possibilities from something that had just occurred. The Village he reigned over was happily celebrating and his fiancé was in tears of joy.

Recently, he had just received a personal letter from the King, bidding his presence. This was extremely rare in the Kingdom, and often it only led to reward and those rewards were often phenomenal. They were beyond description- Rare gems, money... A lot of options.
Though he himself believed it was different. He knew that he had done nothing over the last few months to deserve this. What he did expect though, was that it would be a calling to war. A new race had emerged and were slaying all before them, and had just been halted at the strongest defence to have ever been seen- The Front Line.

He sighed. He didn't really want to go, he was enjoying his home luxuries. Problem was that if he didn't, the King would probably be outraged.
As his horse trotted on at a steady pace, he thought about why he had to travel to where he was heading.

The Elvish Village of Luvrance. It was supposedly a hot destination, untouched by war. It was described as extremely peaceful, and that it was never in any spot of trouble. Obviously the King felt safe there, and had considered it to be of private standards, so that they may converse without the dangers of a spy. What Rhaebold did see in an optimistic view was that it would be like a vacation, and for at least a day he might be able to visit one of the famous hot ponds that could cure any pain. He smiled, perhaps his backside would be cured.

Suddenly, from out of the Trees, a man carrying a spear jumped out. Rhaebolds horse panicked, and he fought for control as he grabbed his Battleaxe, literally ripping it from the sheath. His face twisted into that of anger and he shouted forth.

"Who goes there and what do you want!"

"I am a messenger from your King, Yurrak. He has bid that all those who have been requested get an escort so that they see no harm."

"All? You mean there are others?" Rhaebolds deep voice asked, his temper starting to calm.

"Yes, a few. I cannot tell you what for, though, master Rhaebold."

The Barbaric Axe wielding maniac nodded slowly and began to trot forwards again. From nowhere another twenty or so Elves emerged. He could see that they were so from the pointed ears.

"So this was why they were so resistant when my Dad was at war with them..." He thought, allowing himself to be led into the forest he was beside, and down a long, winding dirt path. He had to admit though, he'd have words with the Elves for their rude, hasty approach. And to be honest, it had answered none of his questions but the escort itself had told him that he was important.

Valar cursed, the rain pouring down was not improving his mood. He had only been released from prison a week before and had only 1 day to rest before he had to start travelling to the gathering point, some elven village called Luvrance. Thinking back at his last visit to the assassin's guild hall he shuddered, the senior assassins were... polite to him. They probably hoped he would die in this mission becouse of the shame he had brought to the guild after his faillure to assassinate the king.

Removing the guild from his thoughts Valar thought about the mission, the magistrate in the prison had only been willing to reveal that it had to do with some general from that new race. He of course had heard the rumors about this new race that waged war against the human kingdom and the undeath empire, but he had never given much thoughts about politics, he was only in the business to kill political figureheads and nothing more.

Valar suddenly sat straightened in his saddle, he had heard something... A figure fell out of a tree and Valar already had his daggers in hand when the figure landed on the ground. It was an elf. "Stay your blade, I'm a messenger from king Yurrak."

Valar cocked an eyebrow but did nothing to return his daggers to their sheaths. "A messenger? Then what's the message."

The elf bowed his head. "I, and others have been assigned as escorts to those requested to the gathering point."

'others? interesting...' Valar bowed his head in greeting and sheated his daggers. "Okay, fine by me lead on."

The elf looked at him. "I'm afraid something has to be done first." He pulled out a roll of parchment and read it out loud. "By order of the king, the assassin Valar Velarrin should give all of his weaponry to the escorts or be executed at once." That said several more figures dropped from the trees, more elves with weapons in hand and watching Valar carefully.

Valar looked at the escort. "Excuse me? My weapons, why would I have to hand over my... Oh this is about that whole 'assassin caught outside the king's bedroom' thing isn't it?"

The elf escort nodded. "I'm afraid it is, your weapons will be returned after the meeting."

Valar uttered a growl. "They'd better be!" Two armed elves moved towards him holding a large sack in which Valar deposited his weapons, except for 2 daggers which he had hidden in his left boot and the other hidden in his armgauntlet. Valar turned to the elf escort. "Satisfied?"

The escort looked at the armed elves who looked into the sack and nodded. "I'm indeed satisfied milord, please follow me."

Valar smiled under his mask and urged his horse to follow the escort.

More terrifying then the sound of screams and whips and the harsh barking tones of the warden and his guards, laughter echoed in waves from one of the innermost cells of the Blacklake dungeons. Hoarse, rough, dry, it was both young and weary, both pained and exultant, as though amused beyond measure at the predicament it found itself in. Which, of course, it was-looking to the soldier before him, it was hard for Cid to contain his mirth as he looked to him with green eyes that slowly boiled away into a deep crimson red before continuing on to an azure blue.

"You're jokin' with me..." he breathed, his voice rough and dry after all these years, bust still retaining the youthful quality of his age antagonized by the fact that he hadn't grown since his transformation. It had been forty seven years-he'd counted every one of them, day by day-since they'd put him here..."And now you want to let me out, and to fight fer you? Yer daft, boyo..."

"I don't think so." the man said, looking with disgust to the emaciated elven figure before him. Against the wall in front of him, Cid's body was pinned visibly with what looked to be shafts of iron, two of them piercing through his chest and hanging him against the wall. His arms were behind his back and pierced similarly with iron spikes that braced them apart and lined his arms; much the same with his legs. All along the metal, twisting red runes, sinuous and hot enough that they made the air above them shimmer, stood firm against the blackened metal. The only part of his body free from the assault was his face, and even then a slitted mask covered his mouth, obscuring his lips and mouth behind it as though he were a cannibal...

Which he very well might have been, if he considered humans to be his species.

"You will obey, elf, because if you don't things will be all the worse for you. The only way you'll ever be allowed out of this is to aid us in bringing in the head of the leader of an army that has recently threatened our world. Our undead allies-"

"Allies? Since when did we work with them cadavers?" Cid interrupted, cocking his head to the side as best he could and revealing a similar iron spike lodged through his throat, from front to back, the skin charred where it came in contact with the metal.

"Since we were forced to a year ago after the death of our king at the hands of the invaders. These are tough times-" The marshall muttered darkly before Cid interrupted him.

"So the king's dead, eh? Now I'm startin' t'see why y'might need me..." he muttered with a chuckle as he looked to him, a smile on his face beneath the mask but his eyes alight with hatred towards the man before him. He was a human, and not only that, he was one of the humans who imprisoned him here, pinned to the damn wall like a fly, alone in the dark with nothing but the constant sear of fire against his regenerating skin... Unable to move so much as a muscle...

"Alright, then...lemme down, and I'll fight your war for you..." he said, grinning beneath the mask as the metal in the wall behind him sunk out, the iron spikes allowing him to drop to the ground. He fell to his feet and looked triumphant to the man in front of him before he began to sway, realizing that he couldn't balance with his legs pinned as they were. The guard smirked as he slammed foreword into the floor, crying out in pain as the bolts across his body jerked within him. He was so used to them he didn't feel them anymore, at first, but once they were jerked...

He could do little but whimper, and after a minute or so he'd managed to restrain himself to the point where he could glare with hatred at the man who had let him fall. He wanted to kill him, wanted to tear his arms free and rip out his damn throat and feed it back to him...which was probably why he was so restrained.

A pair of mages swept foreword, their hands sweeping foreword and leaving inky blotches in the air where they spelled out runes before twin lines shot toward the young man, twining one set around his throat and the other around his legs. The iron rods in them pulled free, orbiting around him slowly as they tore from his flesh, leaving gaping holes that before the eyes of those watching began to fill in, the flesh sliding back into place until they were entirely sealed. When they were satisfied he could walk, they jerked him to his feet and started him foreword towards the gates of the castle, the young boy walking along after them with difficulty-it had been a very long time since he'd been able to walk, afterall. When finally they lead him out into the light (he clenched his eyes shut, the light was almost painful now...) and he could see, he found himself standing on the stone street outside of the black rock of the castle, looking out over a fairly bustling town. The mages stood beside him, shifting lightly, and as he watched he looked around in slight confusion as to what was going on-the light was making his head hurt, but he'd get used to it...

Nakara pulled her hood in tight as the human city came into view in the distance. It was raining, and her heavy cloak was wet and beginning to be uncomfortable. She stopped by a tree and raised her right hand up, signaling her troops to stop as well. She scanned the area quickly, and then turned to her second in command. “You and the rest of the elves wait here. This part of the order was meant for just me, and I know most of you don’t want to enter the city. I can take care of it-don’t do anything stupid, just wait here.”

The elf looked into her green eyes and nodded, giving no sign of complaint. She started to depart, and then thought of something. She took off the short bow and quiver and handed it to the elf, “Hang on to these.” She left the wooded cover and made her way onto the road, following it through a wide open area of farms and grassy plains. She didn’t take much time to observe her surroundings, but instead walked as fast as she could through the rain towards the city. The road was rather muddy and slowed her down more then she liked, but she was used to this kind of travel.

In what seemed like forever to Nakara, but what was actually a short time, she made her way to the entrance of a smaller human city. It smells foul here. Hopefully this won’t take too long…I’m not even sure why I’m finding an elf in a human city. What elf in their right mind would want to live here. She made her way through the city trying as much as possible to ignore the stench of the machinery around, and keep her mind connected to the nature in the distance. The loud noises seem to surround her delicate ears and attempt to crush her mind. She rubbed her temples a little as she walked, hoping to prevent the headache she was acquiring from getting any worse. The letter said that he’d be waiting outside a building that looked like a castle… She wandered around the town, partially lost when she spotted a building that looked slightly bigger then everything else. It was made out of an interesting black rock, and seemed to have various decorative sculptures around it. This must be it. She walked up to the fairly large gates and waited for any hint of what she was doing there. She pulled back her green hood, revealing her shoulder length green hair and her elf ears pointing out of it.

Another bit of time passed, and Nakara began to grow impatient, her hair begging to soak through. She felt like she was beginning to be soaked all the way through, and wanted out of this annoying rain. Just when she thought about leaving, the doors opened up, and a couple of mages escorting an elf came out of the castle, walking her way. This should be interesting.

She watched as they approached, noting every little detail she could, and put on the happiest smile she could. “Nakara Felnor, I suppose I’ll be your guardian of sorts for awhile. Nice to meet you.”

Cid's eyes raised to the woman, the shifting hues of his iris watching her curiously before he managed a weak grin. "A woman...ah, an' here I thought this tripp'd be borin'..." he said before the marshal stepped foreword and spoke to her ignoring the young elf.

"I warn you, he's a tricky little monster." the marshal said as he looked to her, cutting the chit chat and holding out a ring with a stone that was inscribed with an archaic rune on it. "Take this. By saying 'release', you'll remove any of the bindings on his body that you like. 'Repress' replaces them. 'Punish' will heat up the iron, and he won't be able to do anything but beg you to stop from there." He spoke as though it were nothing, gesturing to the iron rods that slid through the boy's body and kept him restrained, though the elven lad smiled through the grate over his mouth.

"Aww, she wouldn' do that t'little ol' me, now...that'd just be cruel..."

Upon her voiced concern, the guard looked to her and shook his head. "You don't understand, I'm afraid-a bael'norn is nothing to be treated without caution. He has turned himself into a monster for the sake of a war long ago lost," he said, glaring to the boy, who gave him a cheery smile back from beneath the metal grate covering his mouth, "and the magic running through makes him a weapon in and of himself. The iron keeps him from transforming himself, which keeps him controllable." With that he shoved the boy foreword, watching him stumble towards the woman before nodding to her, the mages undoing their enchantments to let him follow her. He didn't bolt, although he looked very tempted too, and as he looked to the elven woman he was being partnered with, he whispered something under his breath.

"Lemme have 'em, an' I'll be in yer debt fer th'resta th'trip..."

"Do not trust him." One of the mages warned. "His very nature is deceit-he speaks what will gain him something, and nothing more." giving him a glare as he made his way after her, he smiled and followed along with her, his arms pinned behind his back by the spikes of iron.

"I'm not gonna go crazy'n kill anyone." he said with a roll of his eyes. "Y'think I wanna get a tasta that ring o'yours? And favorite race or no, doesn' look like I've much choice at th'moment. They hold all th'cards..." He followed her easily, walking as best he could, regaining some of his strength as he looked to her and made his way to the forest where the elves dropped from the trees. He looked to the clothes and to the bow she offered him before laughing slightly.

"I don' need a bow, darlin', I'll manage just fine on m'own, if you'd be kind enough t'remove there here rods... t'ain't gonna be pretty, but once they're out I figure I could keep pace with ya." He said with a grin from behind the mask. "I'll be nice an' good, I swear..."

When she murmured release, the process started, and he immediately began shaking as the iron began to sink into his body, the the spikes from where his legs were released sinking back into his skin there as well. While the iron submerged itself and linked to his very bones, the searing red marks burned themselves into his skin, leaving black imprinted branding where the flesh met the twisting runes. He fell to the ground, writhing as his flesh seared back together, healing from the injuries and leaving only black runes where the marks had been before finally he appeared normal, his cries finished as he lay cooling on the ground.

Forcing himself to be better, his arm snapped up and grasped the clothes proffered to him, using the grip to stand before swinging them on over his light frame. He looked to Nakara with a grin like a wolf's before smirking. "Why...thankya, darlin'..."

With that they moved out, Cid keeping pace with the other elves easily, his motions smooth and fluid, almost exultant in his freedom.

Nakara just smiled as the elf talked to her, paying more attention to the marshal. "Is all of this really necessary? He is unarmed...you didn't even give him a traveling cloak for the rain." She seemed rather unhappy with the human, acting like he was cruel and didn't deserve to be in her presence. She took the ring and looked it over, finding it curious but not expecting that she'd have to use it. She placed in a pocket in her pants, and took a moment to look over the elf. He was rather short and looked very light and young. They didn't seem to be treating him or feeding him well, but she kept it to herself. "Is that all then? I'd have other important matters I need to attend to as well."

Nakara looked at the elf as he whispered to her. She gained a very serious look and stared him in the eyes. "No." She paused a moment and softened her look, "The letter said your name is Cid...Its nice to meet you Cid."

She turned around, directing the elf to follow her out of town. She pulled her hood back over her head even though her hair was already completely soaked, and made her way through the crowd. She made sure he kept close, and only paused to say, "I can understand if the humans are not your favorite race, but do me a favor and take no action against for the time being. I'm not in the mood to deal with things that I don't need to, and we need to make haste. I hope you don't mind a small detour?"

She led him out of town, and along the road back to the forest. When the neared the edge of the tree's, she stopped and looked around, signaling for the young elf to do so as well. After a few moments, she called out with a whistle that sounded an awful lot like a bird. A few seconds passed, and the whistle was returned. She repeated this two more times, with the same response. She looked around one last time and headed off towards the trees saying "This way," to the younger man. About 10 steps into the forest, they were greeted by the sound of elves dropping from the trees. She greeted the one closest to her and began talking to him in a whispered voice as he handed over a short bow and a quiver. "Do you have any spare cloaks or clothes? His 'family' wasn't the happiest, he could use something to wear." He nodded and began looking through a couple of extra packs they had, then handed what he found to her.

She turned around and gave as much as a warm smile as she could muster under her hood and said to him sweetly, "Here is a change of clothes, and you can use this bow and quiver if you so desire-I am adequately equipped and will be fine without them. Can you run? We have a ways to go, and we're in a hurry."

"I don' need a bow, darlin', I'll manage just fine on m'own, if you'd be kind enough t'remove there here rods... t'ain't gonna be pretty, but once they're out I figure I could keep pace with ya." He said with a grin from behind the mask. "I'll be nice an' good, I swear..." Cids reply seemed honest, and she handed the bow and quiver back the her second in command. Giving it some thought, she preceded to attempt to get the iron rods out, hoping he would be okay. It wasn't easy, and it sounded painful, but soon enough he was free, and they were ready to set out once more.

The elves swiftly but silently set out through the forest looking for their second target of the day. She commanded the group to fan out and search the roads to the Elvish Village of Luvrance, looking for their traveler. After awhile they narrowed it down to a few paths, and split up to scout out which one fit the description best. Nakara and her small group of 4 elves, Cid included, were near a rather tall, yet young man carrying a rather beautiful bow. They followed along for awhile to make sure it was who they wanted it to be, as quickly and silently as they could. Finally, she decided it was most likely her man.

She waved for her men to spread out around him, and walked out of the forest a fair distance in front of him so as to not startle him. She pulled down her hood and in a commanding yet friendly voice said, "Elegost Emmual?"

Vor'radier yawned, leaning more into the tree at his back, finally he heard nothing but the sounds of the woods, he was somewhere near the elven town of Pharialae, Luvrance's sister town was quite a bit quieter, not so much the tour-spot that one might have expected of the sister of such a successful human-magnet, Vor'radier preferred it here though, it was only a short walk from Luvrance. He sighed, leaning even further into the tree, he felt relaxed, nothing could ruin this perfect moment at which he was at peace with the world, here in nature where the prejudices of the 'intelligent' population of Nilithos had no effect on him he felt completely at home.

He frowned as he pulled the gauntlet from his right hand, lifting the back of his hand up to look at the ugly tattoo there, a yellow feather. Deserter they had called him. Coward. How would he have known they would win that small skirmish? He was only young then after all, 'No, I'm still young, but wiser,' he thought to himself, he sat there a moment longer, staring at the tattoo, then slipped his gauntlet back on with a sigh, his eyes began to droop shut.

He awoke as he heard footsteps, the crunching of boots on foliage, he rolled his shoulders, looking down to his spear laying at his feet he let out a sigh, "Sir?" he heard the feminine voice, it was somewhat sweet, yet at the same time whiny, "Yes?" he answered calmly, smiling to himself, "There's a letter for you sir, it's from the king," she announced, dropping a letter on hid lap and then turning on her heel, not waiting for any sort of thank you. He groaned softly, "What does that bastard of a human want from me, he's already taken my land, my friends, what next, my soul?" he muttered to himself angrily as he pulled the seal of the letter open and began reading.

'Vor'radier Nyth'Res,
you are hereby summoned by his lordship the king and are to come immediately to his home, disagree and you will be chased down and slaughtered-'
he almost laughed at this, if he went into hiding it was likely they'd never find him, not even if they searched for fifty years, he set his eyes back to the paper, '-you are required for a certain task.' the letter ended there, it was signed by one of the king's idiot lackeys, probably didn't have the time to get off his lazy human backside and write it himself. He didn't quite care how rare letters from the king were, he would have been happy had they simply decided to leave him alone.

He dragged his spear into his hands and used it to help himself up, - not that he needed help - he began walking back towards Phariale, his spear slung over his shoulder, he reached it within a matter of minutes. Looking up and down the road he sighed, the Mythris kingdom was to his left as an obviously human constructed signpost so blatantly stated and to his right was the kingdom of the undead, he sighed to himself and began walking along the road towards the human kingdom, dreading the moment that he stepped into their lands.

((Hope that's alright, inspiration is sorta flowing like a bloody waterfall tonight.))

Rhaebold was trotting along the path. The wind had died down and he found the temperature rising as he neared the now peaceful elvish lands. Well, in the south they were, for in the north they were in constant battle with the Majurrat legions.

The Barbarically dressed man could not help but notice the Elves dislike of him yet loyalty towards their task. They seemed to despise him, but they seemed startled by his appearance. They had expected him to have been an arrogant Knight or Paladin in shining armour. Instead, they found a brutally muscular and fit man with strong, dull armour, fur, and a stack of throwing axes. They'd occasionally mutter but Rhaebold wasn't too concerned. Instead, he waited to arrive in his Royalties presence. He was quite excited, and the Elves had revealed details about a mission to slay the Majurrat General. Upon asking for their direct opinions on it, they told him it was near suicidal, and that the Majurrat had Daemons from hell at their disposal. He sighed, Elves could be quite pessimistic, an example of that was the last Elvish King whom decided to die by Suicide than to submit to the Humans will. Of course, it made no difference apart from a few more deaths, where they were directly assaulted and had to succumb to the Superpowers domination.

He had heard tales from the Escort when they had earlier set camp that Elves and Undead would be aiding during the secret attempt to kill the General. This he was quite relieved upon, as they would offer unique abilities that would undoubtedly aid the attempt. He grinned, and noticing the baking sun shine down upon him, removed his helmet. The Elves momentarily stopped, looking at the man they considered to be different. But he wasn't, he was an ordinary Man.

"So," He attempted to start a conversation, "How far have we got to go now. We've been on this trail for about a day now, and all I’ve noticed is the forests and dry, flat yet somehow strikingly beautiful lands."
One of the Elves fell back into line with the bulky Axeman.
"My lord," He spoke with a hint of disgust at the phrase, "We have about an hour left. Let's just thank that you got a head start from your village being so close to the border."
Rhaebold nodded, his mid length hair flowing in rhythm.
"I see. Well, let's get a move on. I must get all the rest I can get if I am to help save us all from this threat."

He started to survey the horizon. It was just clear sky, tall, somehow lovely trees and a heat way. Somehow, he knew that his destination lay hidden within, and his buttocks ached for a nice, famous pool-spa.

The frigged cold of winter was one of the few things Elegost felt he would get used to in life. It is stiff, cruel, harsh, and unrelenting. It can get angry turning into a blizzard, or it could be deceiving like the rain, or light snowfall. It makes the bones ache and the body stiff. There was no glimpse of sunlight either, just a dark, gray, blanket of ominous clouds, flashing every now and then, and accompanied by a deafening bang. The pitter patter of water pelting down at the ground below, muddying the ground and drenching everything it touches, but none the less Elegost endured it, not breaking step in his loose stride through the ever thinking forest.

A smile played at his lips while thought of the letter he was sent, his reason for traveling this road. The king wanted him? Now that was startling new indeed, he had never been one to try and get noticed, he didn't even no what he did that was so great. In fact he was only going because for one he'd doubt the king would be happy if he refused, and two he really had nothing better to do. The one thing he liked about the situation though, was he was going to see the elven lands in which he grew up in once more. Sure the elves had always treated him like dirt, but still he still felt a little nostalgic when thinking back to his childhood. The elven lands had always been a land of great beauty and elegance, like some sort of paradise in the hell this world was slowly becoming. The green hills, amazing architecture, and the abundant wildlife, things that he had learned to appreciate growing up. Still.... if going back meant he had to feel the cold stab of rejection again maybe it wasn't such a good idea after all.

The main reason he was looking forward to getting there though, were for a very simple reason, it might very well be that last place he ever sees. A mission like the one he had been assigned was not just something you can go casually do, no one might even call it a suicide mission.

Wtih these thoughts playing through his mind, Elegost barely noticed the elves that were moving through the forest. He smirked, knowing full well they had been coming for him. They passed him and continued aways up the path before stopping. It was then a younger elf calmly began approaching his front. As they got closer the person brought a hand up, pulling down a soaping wet hood, revealing the face of a pretty elven woman. She offered a smile and waved.

"Elegost Emmual?" She called out in a commanding, yet at the same time friendly voice. Elegost gave her a nod, then reaching into his the folds of his cloak, he pulled out the same letter that had brought him here in the first place.

He held up the letter, not caring as it became soggy from the falling rain. "I am. I'm assuming this is why you're here." He asked, his voice giving away his youth.

"I am. I'm assuming this is why you're here."

Nakara nodded and walked towards him. On her way to him, she let out a shrill bird like whistle that was fairly loud to anyone near her. She paused a second and tilted her head as if listening to something. A few moments passed, and the whistle seemed to echo back to her. She let out the whistle again in three quick successions and continued walking towards the young human. "It is indeed. The king ordered that all those he has requested are to have a personal escort to insure no harm." She let out a little sly smile and continued, "Lucky me, i get to escort two people."

She motioned for the human to follow her and began walking down the path, making sure that Cid stayed close to her. The remaining elves took up a position around all three of them, watching for any oncoming threats. Nakara made sure to keep at least one eye on Cid. She wasn't sure how he'd act in the presence of a human that was deemed important, and she didn't want anything bad to happen. As they walked, she slipped one hand into her pocket without thinking about it and began playing with the ring. She seemed rather distracted to anyone onlooking, her eyes staring mostly at the path ahead, her ears twitching as the rain landed on the tips of them.

In not too long at all, the pack of elves surrounding them seemed to be growing, the elves coming from no where. Her second in command approached quietly whispering to her, "How do you want to do this?"

She turned to him thinking it over for a second, "3 in the forest on each side, you take the rear, the rest fanned out in a triangle. We shouldn't encounter any problems anyway, that should be fine." He nodded and left her side, giving the orders to everyone else, and the elves changed their formation. She turned her attention to address both Cid and Elegost, announcing, "We might make it there tonight, but with this rain we might have to stop and rest before nightfall, and pick it up tomorrow. It depends on the two of you, either way it won't be too long." She gave them a warm smile, and returned her attention to the road ahead, still twirling the ring her in pocket.
