Erica nodded as Croix said that Akina would favor them, she smiled to herself as she detected he was perplexed about something. "It's my eyes isn't it?" She said her voice solemn as she rode steadily towards the village of kriekutsu. She never turned to look at him for she already knew the expression he would have on his face. The same expression others had when she stated things like that. 'how did she know' most of them said, it was all with in her symbiotic relationship the the Eather emphireal. She smiled to herself. 'how little these people actually know about me. Praise be to Akina that they accept me for my deeds to serve thee.'
she let her hand fall to the familiar wait of the sword at her side she hoped it wouldn't be necessary to use violence in this mission however she doubted that things would go so smoothly now that the storm clouds of Hinormi were brewing. As she stared to the distance she felt something change in the air or did she, she shrugged the feeling that something big was going to happen off.. the miles peeled away under the steady trot of the two horses as the winds picked up the weather began to deteriorate. Meanwhile where a young man was walking with a gun slung over his shoulder a swirl of fire appeared before him. "My child I gave to you the gift of my gun so that you may serve my justice, time has come for me to give to you another gift. I bestow upon you my gauntlet so that people shall know that you are my right hand." The goddess Like'a said stepping out of the flames and standing before the young man named Taz. She placed a single right handed gauntlet in front of him. It was brilliant red and decorated with brilliant flames. Smiling to him she kissed him on the brow before disappearing like she had never been there, if not for the gauntlet in his hands he probably would've thought this a dream. This gauntlet would go into history as being called the hand of Like'a While a girl walked along just leaving the blizzard of the cold lands of Hinormi a swirl of brilliant snow enveloped her. A brilliant figure stepped towards her as if the snow itself formed the figure. The figure held out a hand with what appeared to be a necklace with a single shard of ice. Ice so pure that it would draw into it's pristine depths any and all that look into it. "Take this my child and cherish the cold that it shall bring with in your heart." The figure said, or was it the wind for no sooner had the figure appeared and spoken those words the figure was gone and so was the winds but not the necklace. This necklace would go into history as The Shard of Hinormi "Vaawn my child you serve me well take this gift and use it well" A voice said as a shield appeared out of a fire that had just sprung forth from the ground. The shield was decorated with a single flicker of fire in the center of a red shield that was traced with gold and fire. "Know my child that no heat shall harm you for as long as you hold this shield" and then the fire was gone. This shield shall become known as the shield of fire. A young child walking through a temple. A small girl appears before her, looking the same age as her. "Hey what you reading there?" she asks with a coy voice that was obviously filled with joy. Her eyes betrayed nothing of who she really was and she seemed to be enjoying the circumstance even appearing in the church of Akina. ((Note to Suzu Valier. this is the goddess Hirami, she shall be a companion for now, your chara will not recognize her as the goddess as she is in disguise but be prepared to recieve a gift of the gods.)) |

Vaawn had been stricked with suprise from the appearance of his goddess, and she'd blessed him with a shield of her creation, and her fiery resolve imbued with it. Though he doubted he'd need much protection from fire, the shield was surely capable of repelling an attack. His heart raced with excitement, as he had seemed to gain another weapon, and advantage over his enemies.
The girl had stopped trying to scream through her gag, but her tears still streamed down her face, similar to a waterfall with endless, and constant flowing. Vaawn shot the girl an evil smile implying his intentions within it, he planned to kill her soon if noone came. All he could do was wait, and see if anyone dared come after this child, he left no trace of showing that he or his goddess had anything to do with it.

"Yeah, it's the...Wait, what?" Croix said, perplexed. He never mentioned anything about, well, anything. How'd this guy know? Well, whatever the case, the two continued to trudge along, battling the ever-increasing winds. Foul winds. What was going on? Winds are never this harsh at this time of year.
The two had finally come up to a farm house, where the child had been taken from. The lone mother had been long since evacuated from the tragic site, leaving it fresh for clue hunting. Croix dismounted from his steed and walked into the house, his eyes and ears open for anything out of the ordinary. An ordinary farmhouse. Signs of struggle, though. A few chairs were knocked over on the dining room, and the table was completely shattered, suggesting some form of violent struggle. Throughout the house, although he was no ranger, Croix noted some unmistakable footprints. The thief's tracks? There was no telling quite how far he had gone, seeing as how the brigand had a few days' lead over the two. However, as he walked through the kitchen, Croix saw something truly out of the ordinary. Swamp. A single piece of paper with the word scribbled on. About a mile or so east of the farm lay a small swampland, rife with caves, muck, and unsightly creatures. However, a lead was a lead, even if it was a trap - or something to throw the travelers off. Croix was no rookie, but he knew his own capabilities. If it turned out to be a trap - and just a one man job, surviving that trap would bring the templar one step closer to rescuing the innocent child. And that was worth the risk. "Sir Erik! We depart for the swamps to the east! The child must be there," Croix said, mounting his steed as they left. ------------------------------------------- Caves. Many caves. Croix and Erik found themselves surrounded by caves. The templar felt, however, that the child was hostage in one of them. Croix turned towards his companion. "I don't suppose you could discern which cave our package is in, can you?" He asked, looking off into the distance at the dry land they tied their horses at.

As they arrived at the farm house the first thing that Erica noted was not what was in the house or even what was around it, simply something that was missing. Her pink eyes glowed as if they were lights while Croix explored the interior. She reached out for any clues using her Eather powers but nothing came to her. 'he's hidden his traces.' She thought to herself not dismounting as she waited for Croix to return
"Sir Erik! We depart for the swamps to the east! The child must be there," Croix said, mounting his steed "What is there in the house that would make you so sure of the place?" She asked but followed not willing to loose any possibilities, this was a child's life after all no stone could be left unturned. As they began their decent into the swamp lands she dismounted from her fire horse for she knew it's unease around such large areas of water. 'Wait here my friend and I shall return" She whispered to the horse as she loosely wrapped the reigns around a branch. The horse looked at her as if to tell her "Don't worry, I shall be here when you return." Her eyes scanned the Swamps not daring to breathe for the acrid smell of decay was strong. She was able to see a few animals that looked rather dangerous but they weren't what she was afraid of in these swamps. The trees formed a solid canopy over them so that only a dim green light filtered through to the ground. 'I cannot fly out in a hurry if I needed to.' She noted to herself and then let the Eather Emphireal's energy flow through her body once again. Her body began giving of a slight pink glow as more and more animals came into sight, not by their physical body but by their small energy and consciousness. "I don't suppose you could discern which cave our package is in, can you?" He asked, looking off into the distance at the dry land they tied their horses at. "I see a lot of life here, but the one we seek is not so easily found, for the target does not wish to be found. I do not like this, not at all." She said as she started walking towards a cave as if drawn by something she couldn't see, hear or explain. Women's intuition some might have called it but no this was much more sinister, She passed close by the cave the child was in with Vaawn which was slightly hidden from branches but headed into another cave that was with in a few feet of the cave they sought. As she headed into the cave deeper still being drawn she came to a large area that looked like it had been a temple at one time or another. The statues she saw she had never seen before in her life. "What is this.." She said as she felt horror raising up inside her. Her voice betraying her true side for the first time in her life as panic filled her she turned to flee out of the cave running smack bang into something. [OOC: She may have ran into Croix or not your choice Bonkutsu] |

Lyesh bowed her head in respect as the necklace was given to her, she slipped it on eagerly, grinning when the snow that had surrounded her cleared, she suddenly felt all the colder, she stopped shivering - the shard on the necklace was cooling her - and set off again, her face set in a grin, she felt almost newly enlightened, new thoughts were rushing through her head, what if she were to take the child under her wing and mold her like the glaciers of her home had done to her? What if she were to take her as a sort of apprentice and teach her the ways of Hinormi? So many ideas rushed through her head and her grin only grew wider as more came along.
------------------------------------- Eventually, after quite some traveling she reached the farmhouse, the door open, she frowned as she looked to the floor - it had collected up enough dust that she could see the footprints of someone having been there before her, "Bloody do-gooders," she mumbled icily, following the tracks to the kitchen, her blade of ice drawn, she stopped where her predecessor had stopped and looked at the note with the word 'swamp' stamped upon it, her grin growing wider, "So, the idiot do-gooders have fallen into a trap, then I have enough time to pray for this place before I give chase," she nodded to herself as she turned on her heel and wandered back outside, here she knelt down in the warm dirt, placing her hands together and closing her eyes, "Hinormi, graceful mistress, these lands are yours by right, I take them back for you, for I am naught but a servant, and you the master, bring this land a blizzard, the like of which, it has never seen and claim, what is rightfully yours, now and forever the world is a debt and you, the debtor, She whispered the prayer, it was one of her own making, no others of the order had the guts to wander into the warm lands, but she did, she smiled, keeping her eyes closed as she bowed her head, signifying her pure devotion to her goddess. She stood slowly, opening her eyes as she scanned the area for swamps, her job here was done, her face was expressionless as she spotted swamps in the distance and set off, walking slowly, Hinormi may not answer her prayer, but she would have something out of this for her mistress, one way or another.

Vaawn had sensed a disturbance within his swamp, and also felt his gut churning with excitement, and sickening glee. The little girls tears still poured off her plump cheeks, down her skin, she dared not to sleep fearing she may not wake if she did. Vaawn formed a grin of malicous intent on his face when he heard something in the old temple, though he'd have to get them into this cave, but what would send them right to him? Without much thinking he walked over to the girl running his claw like fingers across her face scratching her hastily, and then removing her gag she let out a shrill shriek of pain, and terror.
The perfect bait, he quickly ran to the entrance of the cave to wait in hiding for the intruders. Everything was going his way so far, and soon he'd have worthy sacrifices for Like'a his beloved goddess. His anticipation grew as did his lust for blood, he could only hope the intruders were ranked highly within their church. He'd savior the kill either way, but their blood would be boiled by the fury of his goddess, and the almost berserk nature he fought in. Soon he'd trigger the trap, and the trees outside did well in blocking any winged foes in. He could only dream of one of them showing up, but he would have to wait regardless, and his patience grew thin along with their chances of survival. He did well in cloaking the childs energy within the cave, and the magical walls were a favor from his goddess, after enough guessing and checking they'd find her, and him waiting for them. His grin grew wider, and his eyes filled with fury, and hatred making him more then ready for the battle that was ahead.

Looking up slowly Erica noticed she had run into a very stunned looking Croix. She stepped back slowly straightening herself out looking at him carefully as he looked over her armor yet again as if he was trying to make his mind up on something.
What?" Erica said her voice once again what it was before not revealing anything about her true gender. "N.. Nothing.." Croix replied a little shaken turning to leave the temple as quickly as the two of them had walked in. It was as they were walking out of the temple they heard it.. The most bone chilling sound that one would expect to hear on this sought of mission.. They heard a little girls screams. Erica without even stopping to think took off towards the sound with out even so much as the batting of an eye lid. As she found a hidden cave which she knew she should have seen before but for some odd reason had totally missed it she started towards it Croix right at her heals. Erica drew her sword and walked through the wall of leaves and branches not knowing exactly what to expect, Croix followed her closely. The temple 2000 years ago People were running back and forth wearing black robes. The robes were adorned with a red band around the sleeves and the hem around their feet. They ran through halls that were lit by flames that burned a violent shade of red casting a deep red glow over everything. Around the walls were statues that portrayed a mighty warrior who felled all in his row with but a single blow of his sword. In the center of the room stood a lone chair with it's high back. The top of the chair contained a symbol of the sun with a strike through it and an arrow pointing from the sun. Apon this chair sat a humanoid in shape. His body though slender was strong, stronger then all the men running around him. His eyes were of pure black, a blackness so deep that one would loose them selves to look into his eyes. His skin was covered with black scales they shined brightly in the red glow from the flames. He was their God and he knew it, his minions ran around him doing his bidding, what ever his whim they were on it. Taking a breath of satisfaction he relaxed back into his chair. One servant braver then the others dared to stop and look to his God. He began to tremble as the mighty eyes of his God turned to him. "Tell me servant. What gives you permission to stop and look upon my beauty?" a cold and wicked voice came from the figure upon the chair. The voice seemed to echo around the temple with little force at all, striking fear into all that heard it. "forgive me my lord, I did not mean disrespect, only to... He would have finished the sentence had his head not began rolling around the floor as a fine red disc slammed into the wall. A smile spread across the figures black features as a cruel laugh left his lips. Another servent walked over to where the body of his colleague had collapsed and began to clean it up and saying in a voice that did not hide anything from any that sought to hear what it was he had to say. "Praise be to the dark lord and master of all Kakarin!!" he continued by chanting the praise to his lord not wishing to anger the God he served. Last edited by Blaider : 05-22-2008 at 04:11 AM. |

300 Years ago:
A crack of thunder rips the skies.... The first twelve of the Shadow Priests, standing in a circle, know exactly what this means... She is coming... She who is capable of bringing the Shadow Priests into their full bloom. And so she does. The next thunderbolt slaps bang into the ground, in the middle of the circle of priests. When the light clears, and the priests' eyesight recovers, they see a small baby, humanoid in form, with two large, black, wings. The baby immediately withdraws the wings, binding them with her form. The priests move her into the temple, Teaching her the ways of the Shadow Templar. 200 Years ago: She leads an army, of nigh 200 Soldiers, as they march across the war-torn land. Some call this the "Black Crusades". She calls this a recruitment drive. They slaughter all who stand in their way, convert all who will, and kill all who don't. The twelve shadow priests are long gone, but in their place are hundreds, all humans, who excel in some form of Diadara's realms. 100 Years ago: The black crusades are finished, there are thousands of shadow priests, some, attracted, not forcefully, others punished, tortured and mutilated brutally into the shadow arts. Her purpose is served, and so, her lord turns a blind eye on her, she, no longer needed, is as good as dead to the Lord Diadara. She turns her back on the Shadow Priests who refuse to help her, and turns on the human race, blaming them for her damnation. Current Time: She rides into town on her black horse. It has many slices, many scars. It is an abomination to most, to others, the darker ones, it is a gift, a bounty. For it is Shadow-mere, one of the fastest horses in this world, fueled by dark magics, trained for over 300 years. It found this girl when she was young, and developed an immediate bond with her, in return, she gave it Daidara's blessing. She looks at the people, staring at her horse, wondering what a girl like her is doing with such a dreaded horse. Shadow-mere grows nervous... She doesn't like this. The girl stares at each of them, equally, wondering whether or not to drive them away... She decides not to, as it may be one of these people from which she needs help. She urges Shadow-Mere to the chapel of Akina, to the north of the town. She presses a paper note to the notice board and scrawls something to it, with a black quill. It reads: Searching for the talents of an alchemist. Should you be able to help, make your mark on this paper.. I will find you. She laughs slightly, wondering if that phrase would scare anyone away. She looks once more at the townsfolk, and rides off again, down the same road from which she came. She gets to the edge of the forest and gets down off the horse. She pulls her bastard sword from its sheath on her back and drives it into the tree stump. She then sits and leans on this tree, pulling an apple from her pack, tossing it to Shadow-mere. "We will find somebody.. an alchemist.. and then we will proceed to the frosted north... " She assures the horse, although how she knows its thoughts she knows not. She often wonders if this "gift" was bestowed upon her horse as well. She turns her back on the one companion she has and falls asleep near instantly. "No worries, lass. Just try not to read and walk!"
Camryn blushed a little at this, since it was a pretty dumb move she did. "Y-yeah.... okay..." She quickly left to let them talk, and rounded another corner. "That was embarassing..." She muttered to herself as she sighed. She was usaully good at paying attention while she was walking, but the book was really interesting. She looked up, and around as she realized that she was a little lost. "Why is it that I can get lost so easily?" She said to herself. There didn't seem to be anybody in this hallway either, so she walked back to where she had bumped into the man. She wwas going to ask them for directions, butt they had already left. "Ah.... What am I going to do?" She said, staring at the place where The men had been not two minutes before. She sighed, but she noticed the board that was there. "A job board...? Oh! For templars I guess...." She looked at some of the jobs to see what they were about, and noticed that some of them paid a decent amount of money. 'Maybe I can do one of these jobs!' She thought excitedly, thinking about the money she could get. Then she remembered her current job. "Ah! I need to find my way back soon!" She said panickedly, and started down a random hallway. She had been practically running for the past ten minutes, but all she had done was confused herself even more. "Always, always getting lost. This is unbelievable..... I'm inside a building! It can't be that hard to find the exit!" She thought frustratedly as she continued to her search for the exit. But after five more minutes, she had given up. "This is impossible...." She looked at the book she was carrying. She sighed and opened it up. "Well, if this is what got me into this mess, it should get me out. I'll leave it up to Hirami..." She said, as she once again began to read while she walked. She walked for a while, still not finding her way to the exit, but not really paying attention since she was reading. Then all of a sudden, She heard a voice in front of her, which let her stop reading before she bumped into another person. "Hey what you reading there?" Camryn paused for a second, and looked at the girl in front of her. She seemed around Camryns age, but she wasn't sure. "Um... A book. It's called Advanced Building...." She began, and then realized that this was another person. "Yes! And um, I was supposed to pick it up for a guy that I'm working for, but I got lost on my way here, but then I found this church, so I picked it up here, but then I started to read it while walking, and then I got lost!" She explained quickly, excited that she had finally found someone else there. "Do you know where the exit is? Because I need to hurry up and give this to the store owner. I'm already really late." She said, and looked hopefully at the girl.
