| Daquaris. Homeworld of the Do-Sun Monarchy. Monarch Xaxis supervised his council of generals as they watched the hololithic screen. "Monarch, as you can see while we are at a firepower and numerical disadvantage against these... shifters... we still hold the advantage provided by our cloaking devices. Unfortunately the Shifters standard methods prevent the most effective strikes against their number. Too often they protect their transports far too closely." Xaxis did indeed see the General Axoses point. But it was null and void. A skilled captain could manage well enough. Well enough to launch a missile barrage or at the very least get so close to the Shifters to render their Antimatter weapons useless. "Put me in contact with Clan-Captain Luxix of the Daerion Hunter." Monarch Xaxis said in a plain level voice. A tone the Generals knew all too well. He was disappointed in their appraisal and assessment. Daerion Hunter. Hunt-Master Class Stealth Cruiser Luxix prostrated proudly before the hololithic image of the Monarch. "What is your will Monarch?" He said the sibilant hiss in his voice echoed by the crew of the Daerion Hunter. "You are to go to the Varantine system. Intelligence suggests a Shifter group may be passing through, unmolested, you are to take the Daerion Hunter and destroy at least one of the transports. After that your own survival is highest priority." With that the transmission ceased. "Ok, Get to work and plot us a course. We're going hunting!" A cheer rang up from the vessels crew at the news. In Luxix's second stomach he felt like he'd eaten Danthiir Firestone.

| A-2-C112 Ming Depot, Wryyy System, Farslout Empire, 4340 AD The Shifters come in under stealth gliding without power. They are undetected by the minor defenses of the station. In unison, low strength plasers fire from the abyss. They act like surgical lasers, cauterizing the defensive stations while leaving the rest. "If your after its pelt, why cut a tiger's paws off when you can just remove the nails?" the Shifters would say. The ships glide near the station unmolested. All the ships present one of their sides to the station. Their cargo bays open to release their Starlight dropships. Each is filled with 20 troops, as well as their onboard weapon mounts. The wasp-like ships fire either missiles or plasma weapons at their entrance points. Wreckage and fire blast into space as each ship stream into the open bays. They land with their masers tracking through the bays. Tech and Marines explode into bloody steam from the heat, and long lines of melted composite and metal criss-cross the walls. At the same time, ground-pentrating radar from the ships are linking with radar and sonar pulses from the dropships. They combine their data into a comprehensive map of the inside of the station for the raiders. The bottoms open to release the troops. The raiders, both male and female, set their gear in order and then move into the nearby hallways. Each dissapears in a flash of blackness, to reappear in another puff on the other sides of air locks. All armed personel are hit with high-powered maser rifles; unarmed civilians are thrust aside as the raiders sprint into the interior. Each raider has a smaller version of the penetrating sensors as the ships, and they simply 'shift' past any barriers. Pockets of resistence are dealt with a teleport, a dropped grenade, and another quick teleport to safety. The raiders quickly subdue the majority of defenders around the nearest warehouses. One of the Shifters has a more important mission. The Reaver appears in a flash in the Command Center. Techs scramble for sidearms, as does the Marines stationed in the room. It is all useless as the Shifter drops its glaive and does a spin an ice skater would be proud of. It bends its hands down to give its wrist masers a clear shot. The high-powered maser beams cleanly slice the men down; the stading ones at heart level and the sitting men get their heads cut in half. The Shifter examines the men afterwards. One Marine lies on the ground, his arms missing. He whimpers in pain, but is not dead. His chest plate held the beam off for a split second, but the less armor on his arms could not help as much. The Reaper walks up to the man, glaive in hand. It holds it like a javalin as it towers over the man. "In death, there is life." It proclaims in Shifter English as it impales the man. The Reaper walks to the main command console and places its hand on the panel. Wires snake out from the armor at the wrist, probing for openings. The find them and connect to the circuitry and connect the Reaper to the depot's systems. The viral packets and hacker software easily breaks the civilian firewalls. The Shifter uses its connection to remove the last of the resistance either through forced depressurization, or pumping of toxic or corrosive chemicals into the enemies' holdouts. The Reaper also sends a message through all the speakers in the depot. It speaks in an electronic monotone, in the Farslout language. "We are the Shifters. We have pacified all resistence, and we will take what we please. Any that try to resist will die. In death, there is life." The cargo ships begin to dock, as do the warships. The raiders are joined by specialty techs and small robotic carriers. High value supplies and rare ores are quickly transported onto the ships. The Ships are filled, and quickly depart. "Go to the rendezvous at the Varatine system." is sent as the order.
