Vejjin - Garbage Dump - Alabar, Branchwood

Vejjen was curious of the loud chant that took place moments before, what the hell was it, it flooded his mind and kept the adrenaline in his veins. He looked around and was surprised to see another being standing next to the bulky soldier. Vejjen observed to frail man as a healer, and when he spoke of pukeweed Vejjin nodded with a great grin on his face.

But just as quickly the grin left him as great gusts of unknown origin wrapped around the area in which the previous voice originated. Vejjen jumped back surprised, but as soon as a surprised figure appeared from the gust, he jumped forward, holding his polearm an inch from the trachea of the culprit.

"The Alabar guardship of Branchwood places you underarrest, stand down or die here!", he shouted aggressively. He saw the man, and he carried an Atles brooch.

"Listen, your out numbered three to one, give up", Vejjen tried to reaso n authoratively.

((Pukeweed. Lark, your imagination never ceases to amaze me. Cue my most disgusting post ever.))

Evie: ~Garbage Dump, Alabar, Branchwood~

"No," said Evie, "If anyone is to go, it should be me - first because it was my idea, second because she's my cousin, and third because I am a fully capable sorcery student."

Being a sorcery student came in handy at odd times, such as when pukeweed was thrown through the window. Unfortunately she didn't recognize it in time, at least not before she was puking her gut out all over the floor, but she did know how to use it along with some other unsavory ingredients to make a potion that turned your skin purple. Also unfortunately, Evie was not so much in need of purple skin as she was a vomit bucket.

"If we don't leave," choked Evie in-between hurling, "it will make our bodies so weak that we will," another pause for duty calling, "faint - not be able to fight..." Using the last of her strength, Evie stood and ran out the door.

She felt disgusting because she was disgusting. As she wiped some of her lunch from her mouth, she also summoned the ice sword. Then she looked up at the three people that surrounded them. She could also sense that someone was using cloaking magic nearby, and she was going to assume it was the same person that had possessed the bird, but she still wasn't going to be making any assumptions about whether they were friend or foe. Yet.

"Heh. It's more of an even fight, really."

The gust did in fact surprise Athradien, and he could immediately tell it wasn't of mother natures doing... 'I'm gonna wrap my hands around that ass holes neck and choke them to death...' he thought to himself as he first realized what had happened. Without much time to react, he had the point of a Polearm hovering near his neck.

The man spoke to him, officially placing him under arrest, this faintly amused him. After speaking of the odds, he looked over at the really frail looking one. "Well... I'd say more like 2 and 1/4'ths against one." He nodded to the man which he was referring to as the 1/4th. He reached up and put his index finger on the blade, almost seeming uninterested in the fact it was right next to his neck.

"What a nicely sharpened blade... seems as if it was made by an artisan...?" He asked the question, seeming completely interested. He mumbled words under his breath without moving his lips which shouldn't be audible to the man, this only sound like raspy breathing.

He glanced lazily to the other woman. He had a sudden case of dejavu (Sp!) Evie almost said the exact words when they first met "Why should I trust you?"

Being an elf...well half elf in his case, had it's advantages. Most of his life was devoted to Advanced Magic...nothing a normal human could do. No one heard his words, but suddenly it seemed his hood, began to grow more cloth, quickly wrapping around his nose and mouth, But it wasn't his hood, but a substance that trapped smells in it, only allowing air in, sort of a magic filter.

He threw the man to the side and turned just to see Evie and the other woman vomiting... something he didn't want to see... He closed his eyes and turned away, just as she began to speak... Shaking his head as she ran out the door.

He helped the other woman up, just making sure she was pointed the other way, "Come now, introductions later." After helping her out of the house, his mask slowly Disappeared. Pulling his beautiful Bastard sword out with his right hand as he heard the "Official arrest"

He then spoke up. "It would seem that you cannot fullfill your duties at the time, surrender or we will be forced to take dramatic measures..."

(I’ve skimmed the pas post, hopefully I don’t mess this into up to bad; so yeah)

Fenro Marketplace - Alabar, Branchwood

Fenro walked the small market place over and over again, his feet eventually coming to rest at one of the small stands. Small knickknacks cluttered the young woman’s table, as she yelled out prices, deal, and items. She paused to greet him, tossing her hair back as if all sales included a complimentary kiss from her. Looking her in he eyes he smiled, and turned away, his shyness getting he better of him. He enjoyed Peoples Company, but it unnerved him when they focused on him, it was like a never ending cycle of wanting to be noticed and accepted, but also wanting to be hidden and unnoticed. He supposed it stemmed from the shamefulness he felt for being an out cast, it made him feel naked and exposed, even when it was someone who didn’t know him or his past.

That’s the reason why being a guard of Branchwood was so great, the people new he was there, but avoided him as if he wasn’t. Their eyes purposefully averted from him for fear or dislike of his profession and assumed cruelty. He had jumped from job to job until now, he had never been fired from any of them, due to his diligence and hard work, but he had quit because of the awkward situations they put him in such as greeting guest, or serving customers. Now he had very little he had to say, just the occasional scuffle here and there.

The market began to clear as the day wore on the inhabitant needing to get back to their homes or business else where. He had already mad his round four more times than he needed to, and his shift was way past over. Unfortunate the reason why he had taken so manly walked around the market was because he dreaded going to the last area he had to patrol.

Taking a deep sigh he steeled himself for his last area to patrol. The Garbage Dump reeked of unnatural smell and tastes. From far away it seemed to burn your lungs, but as you got closer the smell practically obliterated your senses. There was always the possibility it was just him though, when he patrolled the dump it always left him with tears and a runny nose.

((Heh, actually, that's a real plant. The Native Americans used it for purging. You can't make this stuff up, man, and if Orin's got to know his plants, so do I ))

~Garbage Dump, Alabar, Branchwood~

Geoffrey:

This was what he was afraid of. The guard had, of course, done his proper duty and jumped quickly to point his polearm to the man's throat, offering him surrender or death. Geoffrey hoped the man would give up. If only for the information Geoffrey might glean from him, he hoped the man would give up.

Then sounds of retching had come from the shack, and, as planned, the inhabitants burst out of it to the fresh air. One of them brandished a bastard sword. It was pretty. Geoffrey knew immediately the man must be vain. Or at least proud. No real man of arms wore such frippery. Then the fop spoke, "It would seem that you cannot fulfill your duties at this time; surrender or we will be forced to take dramatic measures..."

Geoffrey started to laugh. Definitely proud. "I believe you have it the opposite way round. Your two fellows are probably in no condition to fight, as every bend of their core no doubt aches. But, peace. Put that piece of jewelry away, unless you really insist on fighting. More guards are probably on their way already, since two now are missing from their posts. Believe me," he said, not with little chagrin, "they notice, and they come looking to punish. Now tell me," Before you're all taken to some dungeon I can't get into..., "how came you to be in this position?"

Orin:

The man on the ground had nodded to Orin with the mention of him being "one-fourths". Orin gave the man a cursory glance, but didn't deign to give him a reaction or words. He had been teased so when he was a child as well, and it still pained him some to be teased again, even when his talents had gained him so much and got him so far. But the echo of words came back to him that gave him strength: Frail you may be, but you are still most useful.

And I am, Orin thought, gripping the balls of pukeweed in his hands. Just look what I've reduced even these powerful magic users into. He couldn't say what he thought about the actual deed, though.

He started clinking through his bottles, finding the right one and holding it in exchange for one ball of the weed. Even he could be prepared to defend himself, if not heal any wounds that his staunch guards might sustain. In that regard, the Academy students were at a disadvantage.

He didn't know what the green-eyed soldier wanted from the students, but if he could stall them long enough, he was sure more guards would come to arrest them. If nothing else, the green-eyed soldier was calm and cool and collected where the students seemed frantic, jumpy, and panicked, and Orin felt safer with the soldier by his side.

The man at the other end of his polearm didn't seem the slightest bit intimidated, and this only intimidated Vejjen. When others ran from the rancid building Vejjen stepped back from the man slightly, as a precaution. He kept his eyes on all he could, but then he looked into the building out of the corner of his eyes to see if there were any others inside. That's when he saw her, the girl from the market...bearing the atles ensignia. He lost track of everything and lowered his weapon...peering inside at the puking flower girl.

"Y-You?", he muttered to himself confused. He began to walk into the building.

"You...traitor...you took advantage of the...Branchwood guard....you took advantage of me?!", he exclaimed as he entered the building ignoring his surroundings. And that is when he smelled it, pukeweed, and that is when he remembered that he shouldn't be in there, and that is when he started feeling nauseas.

"Oh...", he said and collapsed vomitting.

(Uhhhhhh.... Why....did he enter the building? We ran out... I'm sorry but that just doesn't seem logical....)

Aerandir grew angry when the soldier called his weapon a piece of jewelry. A slap in the face for all elves...who took pride in their work in creating a single blade. The guard was an ignorant fool, not noticing the beautiful workmanship was far beyond any humans ability. He said softly, with a low growl in his voice, "This piece of 'Jewelery'....BOY can cut through your armor like a hot knife through butter." He took a step forward, simingly uninterested that the two were armed with an Axe and polearm.

"As for why your pathetic excuse for a prince threw us in jail? Having the nerve to arrest a diplomatic party, saying we were assassins! You should know that already, anything else I believe is a little over your pay....BOY. He knew that some people hated being called boy. perhaps this one would charge him. "Bring your guards... I'd rather have a good fight, I was growing fairly rusty sitting in that damn prison."

He took two steps closer, "Come on, BOY.... You have the so called advantage...perhaps it would work against students... But I highly doubt it would work on an elf..."

(Eh, crappy post. I'll be gone in the next two weeks. I don't know if I can get on... sooo Lovely you can drag my character around a bit...or have someone control him... sorry, but this just popped upi suddenly...)

Corrin - Garbage Dump, Alabar, Branchwood

Holding her stomach, Corrin followed Aerandir out of the building, looking up just in time to see...the guard from before, coming towards her. As he entered the buildng he stopped, overcome by the pukeweed. Her own insides churned in sympathy and she felt rather weak as she escaped into the open air.

"Sorry about that, I really did kinda like you. And sorry for this, too." Quickly she kicked the door closed behind him, then grabbed a peice of discarded lumber from a pile of junk and wedged it as hard as she could between the crack in the doorframe. That would perhaps hold him for a while if he managed to stop vomitting long enough.

Then she turned towards where the others were, drawing a second dagger. She saw the other, smaller man pulling something out of his pack and immediately rushed towards him, pointing one dagger at his chest and holding the other at the ready. She was taller than he was, and she attempted to force him against one wall of the alley, away from the other guards. She tried to ignore the waves of nausea that still flowed through her body.

It seemed that the prince of Branchwood didn't want to listen to reason, so she didn't think there was much point in being diplomatic. However, she didn't really want to have to hurt this scrawny fellow, so she hoped he would cooperate.

"Put that down," she said, gesturing towards the herbs and bottle he held in his hands. "Carefully."

((Tenshi, feel free to jump Pent to Alabar if you want. Something I completely forgot to put in that post is that either Corinne or the Headmaster gives him a magic compass that is able to track the sorcery students. Just so that Pent isn't running around all like, "Where are they...?"

And Corrin hadn't run out yet, Aer. Have fun on your two weeks!))

Evie: ~Garbage Dump, Alabar, Branchwood~

She glanced around. She thought she recongized one of the men from that ill-fated military camp - the frail one holding a bottle - but she wasn't completely sure, and she definitely didn't recognize the other one. Then there was a guard that had run into the house and started to throw up.

There was a last one, from which she thought she could sense some magical residue. The person that had possessed the bird? She pointed her sword at him. Since they were at a great distance, it was not threatening, but more like somebody pointing a finger. Admittedly rude, but little else. "You! Are you the magic-user? Whose side are you on?"

Then she turned to the soldier she didn't recongize, the one that seemed to have sense and was asking them some questions. "How did we come to be in this position?" She laughed. "Like you don't know. We were sent - well, I was sent - to investigate the disappearance of the princess. Our travels took us to a military camp where we were treated like guests for a short while, but then a mysterious letter appeared...a letter that was supposedly written by us, detailing our plans to kidnap the Atles princess and kill the Branchwood prince." She paused, glaring at him. "Of course we didn't write the letter, but the prince stopped listening and threw us into the dungeons anyway. So now we have to find who actually wrote the letter and kidnapped the princess. If you want my opinion, it was probably your beloved prince, but that's just my personal theory.

"In any case, if you're like any of the other guards, you're not going to believe me. So I suggest we cut to the chase and you just get out of our way."
