(OOC)
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! The unholy sound of the alarm clock made Zoe groan. She slammed the palm of her hand onto the snooze button and then rolled over. She didn't want to get up today, but she knew she had to. She always wished that the school would change their start time to noon or the afternoon. But like that was going to happen. Zoe sluggishly dragged out of bed, brushed her teeth, brushed her hair, threw on some clothes, grabbed her books and stuffed them in her deep sea blue and brown backpack, put on her shoes and walked out the door into the many hallways of the girls' dormitory. The girls' dormitory in the morning was always hectic, mainly because of the grade and kindergarden girls running around and playing an early game of tag. For as long as she could remember, she would nearly brake her neck for trying to dodge the kids. Zoe sighed. No matter how many times you tried to get them to move or to watch where they were going, they would never listen. As she was climbing down the second flight of stairs, she began to feel strange. It felt like something was moving on the insides of her body, making it feel like it was vibrating. Instinctively, she moved her head to the right and saw a long haired, misty-looking young woman floating around in the air, paying no attention to Zoe. Zoe gasped in shock and a split second later, she felt something crashing into her that sent her rolling crazily down the staircase. When she reached the bottom, she winced in pain a little as she looked up to find what tripped her: a pair of twin third grade girls - Russian she presumed. "Ooops! Sorry!" said one girl "Are you okay?" asked the other "Yeah, I'm fine, don't worry about it," said Zoe, secretly surprised that she didn't break any bones "Just try to be careful next time, okay?" "'Kay!" they both said, running off Zoe sighed as she stood up. "Crazy kids." she muttered She then looked around for the pale, misty woman in the air; but she was nowhere to be found. "Just who was that woman, anyway?" she asked herself before walking away |

Seize the day or die regretting the time you lost
It's empty and cold without you here, too many people to ache over Newborn life replacing all of us, changing this fable we live in No longer needed here so where do we go? Will you take a journey tonight, follow me past the walls of death? But girl, what if there is no eternal life? The lyrics of Seize The Day by Avenged Sevenfold echoed loudly into the ears of a teenage girl laying on a bed of crumpled up sheets. During the night, the girl must have kicked her black comforter off of th bed. Only her hot pink sheets remained. Black hair was matted to the girl's face as she sat up with a groan. Blue eyes were halfway open. She groaned again and forced herself to get out of the bed. Stumbling, the teenager made her way into her private bathroom. Kasi quickly brushed out her hair, brushed her teeth and washed her face. Ten minutes later, she was heading out of her room. Her outfit was a button up black shirt and torn, faded blue jeans. Her shoes were black as well. On the back of her shirt was a pink rose, just like her tattoo. A small kindergarten girl looked up at Kasi as she walked out. "Hmm?" "You look funny." The girl said then she giggled and ran off. Kasi rolled her eyes at the girl's comment and she just continued to walk through the crowd of grade school girls. Why did I just live at home? Oh now she remembered why. Her parents drove her batty. Now that she had gotten her lip pierced and she had two tattoos, they didnt want anything to do with her. She just tucked her bangs behind her ear and she headed down the stairs. Things were going smoothly, until she left out of the dorm to head towards the main island. Her blue eyes landed upon a figure in the garden. Only, this figure was...see through? "What?" Kasi picked up speed and she tried to see who the figure was, but it vanished by the time she got there. "So weird..." Lately she had been having weird dreams about different things. Memories that weren't hers were filling her mind. She was having dream about things that had never happened to her. Like, she had a husband, but Kasi was only eighteen and she had never even kissed a boy. What was up with that? The girl just shrugged it off and continued on her way towards the main island and the cafeteria.

"Mrfglbghsh..." The irritable mumble that rolled out of the depths of the pillow were a familiar response to Alicia's roomate and her alarm clock, but that didnt make the insescant beeping and the others' unflagging good-morning cheer any less of an annoyance.
But mornings werent as bad for Alicia as they were for others. Once awake; she felt the need to move and do something, as if an opportunity might lay wasted. But it was that in-between time.. Like this morning. She'd had that running-dream again. Hot winds, long grasses... Feh. She was going to be late if she didnt move. Cargo pants and a snug black T, running shoes that'd seen better days. She runs her fingers through her hair to 'perk up' her trademark frill - her roomie scoffs at her for treating her hair like it was a mane - and heads out the door with a poptart in her mouth. Alicia has to run to make the ferry to the main island. Fortunately; the others seemed to crowd for the choicest seats near the windows, leaving her mercifuly without a view of the water. She'd never been able to handle swimming. She lost her sense of direction underwater; it panicked her. The trip is thankfully smooth and uneventful, and she makes it to class with barely the time to spare; sliding into her desk and settling her ratty sneakers in front of her. Oh, hey, look; new kid. A laugh out the window catches her ear, but it's strange enough to cause her to glance out into the sunlit yard. There at the shore stood a huge dog? No, it couldnt be a dog; it looked too feral. But in the passing of a student, the thing disappears with no indication that anyone else spotted it, and Alicia frowns. There were pets on the island, and guard dogs used by security...but.... She shakes it off. Where the hell did that physics paper go? |

The buzz of the alarm filled the room and Keyes reached over from his desk and hit it off closing his history book."Ugh I did it again." He normally studied alot but for the first time in a long time he had been staying up all night reading about vikings and Norse history. Something had awoken in him and he just felt an urge to study about it like it was somehow his past even though he knew it was nonsense. He ran to the shower quick and got ready throwing on his normal khakis and hooded sweatshirt. He went over to the cages in the corner of his room and opened it letting his two ravens out" morning Hugen and Mugen. Ill see you guys when I get back from school." At that they both flew out the window to explore for the day. He went outside and headed toward the ferry like every other morning.
As he got off the ferry and started walking something stopped him in his tracks. He looked over into a wooded area and saw what looked like a wolf starring out at him. As soon as i t saw him looking it moved quickly into the woods."Thats strange you don't normally see those around here." He put it out of his head and moved into school going to his first class and sitting down. The teacher looked over the class and smiled."Good morning class. While first things first let's hand in the essays that are due." Keyes swore in his head realizing what he had put off that night. As the teacher he came to him he gave a light smile" Sorry ma'am but I must have somehow forgotten about it." She gave him a bad look and said" Now Keyes Buliwyf we all know that is not like you. You are one of the top students in this school and we can not accept this kind of slacking from you. I expect that report on my desk tomorrow morning right at the start of school." "Yes ma'am Im sorry" He said lowering his head a bit and opening his book for the mornings lesson. |

(I just put my char sheets up on the other thread so I'm going to go ahead and post).
Sophie lay on her stomach tangled in a mess of pillows and blankets, a bare, pale forearm and a feathery blue head of hair visible from somewhere in the disorder. The arm reached over and groped for the alarm on her bedside table, which was screaming loudly at her in incessant beeps. She sat up groggy and irritated and began to disengage herself from her sheets, which had somehow wrapped themselves around her during the night. She hated waking up in the morning. She had always been a night person and had found her brother's morning energy particularly obnoxious. She wondered how Gabe was doing after their first night at the Academy. She supposed she would see him later that day. Sophie finally managed to get up and begin the day's routine and slip into a pair of cut-off jean shorts, a tank top and a pair of flip flops, grab the big canvas bag which held her schoolbooks and to which she had sewn a variety of buttons, patches, and feathers, and headed out the door. The hall was filled with students, younger and some her age and older. She was looking at the peice of paper she had in her hand which told her where her classes ought to be and how to get there. She saw a boy who looked older than her who seemed to be heading in about the same direction and she asked him if he knew where the ferry was to get to the next island. "You're not from around here," the boy said, surprised at her thick southern accent. "American?" "Texas," she confessed. "It's my first day." She smiled and thanked him after he gave her some directions which she repeated to herself as she made her way out of the dorm. As she headed into the bright sunlight, Sophie heard the sounds of all sorts of birds chirping in unison and for a moment she imagined that they were greeting her. ---- Gabriel woke with a start, shaking off the dregs of some dark dream which he could not remember. Those were happening more frequently now. He tried to think of what it was he had been dreaming about but he could only remember that it had terrified him. He sat up and looked around the room, for a moment forgetting where he was. His roommate was still asleep. There was at least two hours before he had to get up for class. He was tired and he knew that he had slept fitfully but he couldn't go back to sleep for the sun's rays peeking in from in between the blinds over his window. He threw on jeans and a t-shirt and quietly stepped out into the hallway. There was no one out on his floor. He was glad to be alone and decided that it was time to do some exploring. As he walked outside, Gabriel felt drawn by the bright sunlight and began to wander through the intricate gardens and pathways through the woods. Few people were out at this time of morning and Gabe enjoyed having the place to himself. He found a nice secluded grove at the end of a path with a wooden bench and he sat down and reached into his backpack for his books. This would be a good time to do some reading. A little later when he began to hear laughter and see students walking back and forth across the grounds he decided that it was time to head to class, even though he was still somewhat early. He pulled out his map of the dorm island and started to look for the ferry. |

Unlike the other students Lateef was well and out by the morning. He slept early and awoke early, while other kids talked of staying up the nights he could not dream of it, he had to awake with the sun it was only the right thing to do, the only thing to do. Though this was perhaps his third day here and his first day to actually go to class, and for the moment he slept in his dorm alone and without a dorm mate as of yet. Though that was not something he minded.
Lateef stood stop of the balcony rail of his dorm. It was on the highest level overlooking a horizon and a beautiful city scape. For now he just stood bare on the rail with his arms spread and let the sun wash over him, it was something he always did and he did it for a hour or so a day. Once he told a girl he did this and she told him in no short amount of words that he was going to get skin cancer. The utter silence helped him hear the first alarms go off in the room next to his, so he climbed down and walked back into his room. " It is your first day..... hopefully it will turn out for the best." The room he slept in was at the moment pretty plain with nothing but the furniture that came with it and the few editions of a carpet, a couple family pictures and some paintings and scrolls. Though he had to say his favorite thing was the set of ritual Jars on his shelf. A few minutes later Lateef found himself standing in the bathroom wearing a Pair of Nice Dark Blue jeans with a strong belt with a Sun belt buckle, Black boots, and a Black and gold patterned Dress shirt that he buttoned up the entire way. Putting on his leather banded Fossil watch he sniffed and slipped the Ankh on its Golden Chain around his neck and the Was on its necklace on top of the other one and adjusted it so it was not atop of his clothes, he did not want them catching on anything. Lastly Lateef made sure to put on his Eye Patch. Making sure he looked alright he turned and walked out of the room. Walking out and through the halls he streched some and felt at the tattoo that came out from above the collar onto his neck. As he did so he looked over at another student who was looking hurried with a Donut in his mouth who was giving him a strange look. "Good Morning." Lateef spoke english maybe not all that well and with an Heavy accent but he could still speak it and his parents always said he should learn it. Lateef pulled the map out of his pocket as he stepped out into the sun light again, and tried to get his bearings as a shadow passed above him. Looking up he saw a Falcon flying off. Looking around some more he headed off to the Ferry. Looking to his left he saw a student walking out from the Gardens and couldn't help but get a little strange of feeling from him then walked off and got into the ferry where he sat as close to the side as he could. Walking off of the boat he went towards the class buildings. Stopping at the entrance he put a hand to the doorway and had to stopped brining the other hand to his head as it begun to throb horribly. Other kids stopped and asked if he was alright but he smiled them away and shook his head to try and get rid of it. There was something, he begun to feel somebody he had known before.. a long time ago, far to long in the old times long ago. His head throbbed and he got images of another student smirking and walking. Who is that.. Walking his head felt better and he went towards class. The teacher had just finished reprimanding some student on being late. "-at the start of school." Pausing before actually going in he shrugged and stepped in, "Another one?" the teacher looked at him. "I apologize, my first day coming to class." Walking in he listened to the teacher talking about what they were going to do and sat near to a window where sunlight was coming through, he was the last seat in a row, with a girl behind of him and to his right along with a guy infront. After he settled down to sitting a quick thing occurred to him, he remembered he forgot the books. "Good job.. your forgot school items.., in the time of annoyance he went into the ancient tounge.Closing his eye he brought a hand to his head and smacked himself lightly.

Shad exited the dorm building just in time to watch the ferry pull out of the dock, and he swore under his breath, the remnants of his earlier smirk disappearing. 'I was already late to begin with, damnit! This is not going to leave a good first impression.' And on top of that, he was beginning to get a headache and he had no idea why; it was probably related to those damned nightmares he'd been having, cutting into his sleeping time.
Things were just lining up to irritate him today. He watched the ferry pull into dock on the other island, unloading its cargo of students, and he leaned against the dock's railing to await its return in silence. Just as his forearms touched the wood, however, he felt a searing pain in his skull, making him hiss and pull his hands back to clutch at his forehead. A sheen of sweat broke out on his skin—he felt a strange sense of deja vu, and an image danced in front of his eyes of another boy, roughly his age, leaning against a railing similar to this one. Oddly, the sight of the boy sent a jolt of fear running through him, followed by intense anger. Shad gritted his teeth in frustration. 'What the hell is wrong with me today?' The ferry had pulled up by that point, so he hefted his backpack and boarded as quickly as he could, brushing the odd feelings aside. The ferryman was smirking at him. "Aren't you a bit late for class, kid?" the man quipped, but Shad ignored him and took a seat on the very edge of the ferry. Another strange feeling overtook him as he looked out over the water. Even after the boat had docked and Shad disembarked—the ferryman still smirking at him—he couldn't shake the feeling of deja vu. Class was well underway by the time he got there. The teacher was not happy. "You are my third late student today, but at least they had the sense to arrive before class had actually started!" An awkward silence followed, with Shad cursing mentally and the teacher simply glaring at him. She glanced down at her attendance schedule briefly. "Shad O'Connor, correct?" she asked, and he nodded. "You're the new transfer student." He nodded again. She then adopted an authorital expression, and he frowned, sensing an incoming detention. He was therefore surprised when she actually started speaking. "I'll let you off just this once, seeing as how you're new here. You also don't have to turn in an essay, for obvious reasons; but I will expect to you to arrive on time for all future classes, with all of your work completed, or else I will punish you quite harshly indeed. Is that clear young man?" He nodded one last time, not the least bit intimidated, and she dismissed him with a wave of her hand. There was only one seat open, a window chair in the very back corner of the class, so he sauntered back to it, sat down and got out the necessary school supplies. Damn, he could see why nobody sat here: the sun was shining directly into his eyes. The kids in front of him had no such problem, so he flipped them the bird under the table, envying their existence. As the teacher resumed her lecturing, Shad settled in for his first day of school—and if things continued the way they'd been going, it would be a trying day indeed.

If there was any place Zoe could be in the world right now, it sure as hell would've been anywhere but Mr. Giordando's class. He was the most boring teacher Zoe had ever had. He always spoke in a tone that was more dronier than a robot and always taught the absolute dullest of math subjects. To make things worse, she hated math; despised it with an intense, igniting passion. It was at this time of day, where she had the urge to commit suicide.
The good news, though, was that he had rarely called on her and that gave her time to daydream during class. She was staring out the window while tuning out the sounds of the teacher's incessant lecture and slight snoring of three out of around thirty students in the class. As she was doing so, Zoe's eye caught the sight of a pair of ravens flying around the school yard outside. She smiled; ravens were always her favorite birds. Then she looked at the ground below and saw something more... unusual. There seemed to be a strange wolf gazing up at her with its enigmatic - if not, ominous - orange eyes. Did wolves even have orange eyes? Further more, did they even live here? And suddenly, when things couldn't get any stranger, she could've sworn she heard someone... laughing. The laugh wasn't coming from the classroom, but from outside where there appeared to be no students whatsoever. And then... "Ms. O'Farrel." "Hmm?" asked Zoe as she looked over to the owner of the speaker's voice Much to her dismay, the teacher was the one who called her. "Would you please answer the problem to number three on page fifteen?" "Uh... yeah, okay." said Zoe as she flipped the pages of her math textbook to the requested page Zoe's eyes widened. The math problem he wanted her to answer to her was so difficult, it was hard to explain. Hadn't the teacher realized that she had always been horrible at math?! She was secretly cursing in English, Irish, Italian and Latin inside her head as she stared into the textbook dumbfoundedly. It was moments like these, where she wished that there was a fire drill today... "Ms. O'Farrel..." "Uh, right, sorry," said Zoe smiling nervously "The answer is..." She quickly thought of the first number that came to mind. "Three thousand, four hundred and forty two." "Yes, that's correct." said Mr. Giordando As Mr. Giordando once again started his long-winded speeches, Zoe sighed with relief, darted her eyes to the ceilings and mouthed the words "Thank you.". She then turned to the window, only to find that the wolf had disappeared. This had left her puzzled, wondering what it was doing on campus in the first place and where had it come from. She couldn't stop thinking about the wolf till the end of the period. |

Gabe stepped off the ferry and onto the island where classes were to be held with time to spare. He looked around at the lush campus, suddenly remembering how far away he was from the small town where he grew up. Students of all nationalities were walking back and forth across the grass, kids from all over the world. He felt a little overwhelmed by it all. And then there was that odd feeling that he had in the pit of his stomach, like there was something...odd about the whole thing. All these people, here, in one place...They were here to go to school, of course. That was it. No time for conspiracy theories.
He was the first one to arrive in his first class and he took a seat near the back. He was a good student but he preferred to be inconspicuous. He pulled a book out of his backpack and began to read, not really paying attention to the students that began to trickle in after him. The class went by fairly uneventfully, with Gabe listening intently to lecture but not volunteering any information, even though he knew some of the answers. As the teacher began to cover some familiar material that he had already learned, his mind began to drift. He wasn't sure how much time had passed when suddenly he was aware of a bright light. He stared at the light and it grew brighter, a searing whiteness that filled his vision and penetrated his brain. Through the whiteness he could see a figure, blazing with light, riding atop a chariot. Next to it was another, female figure, but this one was standing in shadow and with long fingers was scratching the chin of a huge wolf. Gabe felt dizzy and leaned his face in his hands, trying to make the - whatever it was, delusion - go away. "Gabriel Harris?" a voice split through the fog in his mind. "Gabriel, are you with us?" Gabe looked up. The classroom was back in its place, and the light and the strange figures were nowhere to be seen. The professor, on the other hand, an older man with a stern look on his face, was standing in front of Gabe's desk with a frown on his face. "Um, yes. I mean yes sir." The teacher looked down at him. "Glad you could join us," he said, then resumed his position at the front of the room. He noticed several students looking at him before turning their attention back to the teacher or each other. He heard a mocking "yes sir" whispered from somewhere and "cowboy", reffering to his accent, but he pretended like he hadn't heard. He was thinking about something else. Maybe this is what schizophrenia feels like... |
