Alicia laughed at Sophie, gripping the straps of her backpack and heading out into the halls.
"What like palm reading and alla that?" A glance at the other girl showed that her face was serrious, though, and Alicia shrugs, though she continues to smile. Seemed like it was a permanent expression on her face. "Eh. Not the tarot card stuff. Seems like most those guys are phonies. But ghosts and stuff? Sure. My dad, he's from Africa - as if you couldnt tell - he used to tell me stories about the old times. Says he saw some creepy things down and around the mines, and he isnt one to go exagerating. Once? He saw a hyena as big as a lion, just grinning down at them while they worked, and it called his name." She grins and shrugs again, "So I guess anything's possible, right? Dreams and whatnot are freaky, too." She frowns contemplatively at that, her own comming to mind, before she shakes her head and looks over at the new girl. "I talk alot. So what class you have next? And did you see that new guy in the back with the red hair? Dude he was eyeballing everyone like he wanted to fight right there." |

Casey was sitting in her English class. It was boring, as usual. She had already read the book that everyone was discussing. She sighed heavily and pulled out a notebook. The girl began to sketch the woman she had seen in the garden early this morning. Most of the time, thats were Casey was found. Only recently had she avoided it for unknown reasons. Of course, not even Casey figured it was the goddess within her who didnt want to go near it.
She was doodling in details when her teacher snatched her notebook. "Seems like you're busy Casey." The teacher was glaring daggers at the girl. Casey just smiled sweetly and stated, "Well....If this class was more interesting...." Thats when the teacher slammed Casey's notebook down and pointed at the door. Oh was she in trouble now. Casey grabbed her things and she headed for the door. On her way to the office, she noticed someone walking about five feet in front of her. It looked just like that figure from before. "Hey! Wait!" The figure began to run, and Casey followed after it. She had to know who or what it was. "Please! Wait!" The figure turned around to look at her once they were outside the building. She was beautiful, like a goddess. Casey just gaped at the woman. "Learn quickly little one." The woman's voice was sweet and soft. As soon as the last word escaped her lips, she vanished into nothing. "Am I seeing things? Who was that?" Casey said as she sat down, holding her head in her hands.

After a moment of thought, Shad recalled that yes, he did have english next. So he made his way towards the classroom at a much slower pace, knowing that he still had several minutes left to get there.
As he walked, his mind was on that troublesome egyptian kid—though they seemed the same age, something in him just saw the other boy as younger than him. And what the hell did he say when he walked by me? It sounded foreign, but I almost seemed to understand it... Shad frowned, shaking his head. Couldn't be. I don't know any other languages. He sighed heavily and forced his mind back to the present, though he still felt the need to hurt somebody, lingering after his encounter with the other boy. He couldn't start a fight, though, not at this school. Not unless he wanted to be shipped back home. What would his father think then? He'd probably beat me black and blue... no, I absolutely cannot go back there. Those thoughts did nothing to ease his frustration. He almost wanted to punch a wall, just to release all of this tension; instead he pulled out his pocket knife and flicked it open and closed repeatedly. It helped to occupy his hands, which calmed him somewhat. By that point he was almost to the english classroom. Hell, the other class probably isn't even out yet! He then saw a flicker of movement up ahead. Wait, who's that? Shad glanced up and saw a dark-haired girl walking up ahead. He watched with narrowed eyes as she yelled at something, then bolted off down the corridor, headed towards the front doors. He glanced down a side hall towards his english class—he still had several minutes left, should he follow her? Nodding decisively, he adjusted his grip on his backpack, pocked his knife and ran off after the girl. Shad was panting slightly by the time he caught up with her, and he looked outside just in time to see an ethereal-seeming woman vanish into thin air. He blinked, dumbstruck. The dark-haired girl seemed equally shocked, if her words were any indication. "Am I seeing things? Who was that?" She then sat down, holding her head in her hands; she didn't appear to have noticed him yet. Shad debated with himself for a moment. On the one hand, he wasn't good with people... on the other hand, he completely empathized with this girl, wanting to do the same thing himself. Finally deciding, dropped his backpack and sat down next to her, resting his forearms on his knees as he tried to find the right words to say. "Yeah," was all he could come up with. There was a short, awkward moment of silence, then he cleared his throat, feeling he should add to that statement somehow. He shifted uncomfortably before he continued. "This school is pretty weird. Lots of... weird things happening, visions and stuff. You know?" ((Whew, that was a longer post than I'm used to writing. Any idea where The Silent Masquerader is? He/she hasn't posted here in awhile.))

Sophie laughed a little at her own question, seeing Alicia's reaction. Maybe she was being a little silly. However, certain things had happened...
She listened to Alicia's story with interest. Old haunted mines in Africa...a hyena as big as a lion...Sophie imagined seeing a huge creature like that, staring down at you from above, opening its wide, grinning jaws to speak. Creepy, crazy, but for some reason she didn't find it impossible. And something tugged at her memory when Alicia mentioned dreams. "I've seen ghosts. I've seen my granddad", so, okay, maybe she made it up some of the time, but she had seen him on more than one occasion, "and once I even saw a dead horse. The mare gave birth to twins, and then she died, but I saw her the next day near the creek, bending down for a drink of water. I always wanted to see my parents, I used to visit their graves at night and ask for their spirits to appear, but they didn't." Sophie looks a bit complentative for a moment, "I never knew them," she added. She quickly recovered and fished in her bag for her schedule. "Yeah, that redhaired kid looked mean. I thought he was going to punch out the teacher when he came in." She looked over her schedule for the remainder of the day. "I have english next, then lunch." |

Casey glanced over at Shad. "Yeah..Thats the second time I've seen her...in one day." The girl just shook her head and she then looked back at Shad. "I'm Casey." She said with a smile. Her fair features made her face look child-like and innocent. She yawned softly and looked back out towards where the lady had been.
"Have you seen things too?" She asked, hoping she wasnt the only one. The girl looked at some flowers nearby. ...They're dying.... A twinge of pain hurt her heart as she looked at the flowers. She then ran her fingers through her black bangs. Her blue eyes looked back at Shad and she smiled. [okay...I know thats really short...but I'm sooo brain dead ]

"That's creepy." She acknowledges Sophie's stories with a nod. For a moment, she considers mentioning her dreams, but claiming to have lived somewhere haunted and saying you dreamed you were a bloodthirsty beast were two entirely different levels of crazy, and she keeps her mouth shut.
"Fate strikes again. English and chow for me, too. Though usualy I just grab a sammich and chill out in the gardens. If you're gonna go to a fancy school with public-acess gardens, why the hell not, right?" She glances to her watch and curses, "We're gonna be late, haul it." She says, and abruptly turns and quick-steps it into the teaming throng of students moving around. She bobs and weaves through their numbers quickly towards the classroom. Speaking of freaky visions, Sophie might get the breif impression of a saffaron shape slipping through long grass without leaving so much as a bent stalk in its wake. And then it's just people and Alicia again as she cracks open the english door and hurredly beckons the other inside, just barely on time with that ear-to-ear grin. |

As the bell rang, releasing everyone from class, Gabriel followed the other students out. The red-haired girl was a little ways in front of him, and she quickly disappeared among the throng of students in the packed hallways. Gabe threaded his way through groups of people laughing and talking and heading in various directions as he made his way to his next class.
As he rounded a corner, his attention was caught briefly by the view from a large window. The sun suddenly seemed to shine brighter than usual, filling the section of hallway with light and warmth. It reminded him of the bright light he had seen in class, and for a moment he thought that there would be a repeat of what happened earlier. He was surprised when he accidentally bumped into another student, and nearly lost his grip on his books. "Sorry," he said quietly as he turned to see who it was he had collided with. It was a big, dark-skinned kid with long black hair in a ponytail. He looked older and was taller than Gabe and he had one eye covered by an eyepatch. Nice, walk into a half-blind guy, he berated himself silently. The boy looked rather imposing, however, and Gabe got the impression that he wasn't much impeded by the missing eye. As he looked at the guy, Gabe got the odd impression that they were similar, somehow. Gabriel was physically almost the exact opposite of this boy, shorter and thin with pale skin and blond hair. However, he felt somehow connected, and as he thought this the sun coming through the window seemed to grow brighter for an instant, then faded, sinking behind a cloud. I really must be losing it. Gabe moved to step around the boy, again apologizing for running into hm. |

"Shad," he offered, eyeing the girl speculatively. She seemed... very innocent, he mused. He envied her that.
"Have you seen things too?" She asked hopefully. Shad didn't answer for a moment, simply watching her as she glanced off towards some dying flowers, her expression sympathetic. Then she looked back at him and smiled, making him realize that he hadn't answered her. Shad frowned a bit, looking away. His eyes were intense as he contemplated all the weird things that he'd seen. "Just glimpses, mostly," he began slowly. "Though I've had some strange nightmares recently. And also..." His frown deepened. "I had a vision of this one egyptian kid... and then I saw him, later in the day. He was in my maths class." Shad flexed his fingers, feeling his muscles tense up again. "He ticked me off for some reason." He was quiet after that, forcing himself to relax. He felt oddly comfortable around this girl. It was... unsettling. ((Meanwhile, his english class is already starting? ;P))
