Rhea had come to the mission with high hopes. It would turn out a good mission, and when they passed it they would have a better name for it. Though to her dismay this mission had been.. well boring. Not the 'I have nothing to do' boring. No... it was more like, 'I'm so bored of people shooting at me and missing.. why can't they aim better already' boring. She had honestly lost count of how much time they had spent already in building, hiding from the shells. It ended up getting on a girls nerves is all.
Now though she sat against a wall her knees up and the scythe resting in between them and over a shoulder. She had the hood pulled up over her face. She was reading.. or she would have been, but the damn bombing couldn't let her concentrate.. no matter how hard she tried. It could have been worse, she was with a friend from the school.. and.. some guy.. with cards. She didn't get it.. but at the very least she was certain he could provide some entertainment if it dragged too long. Without looking up she nodded, "Yes sir, Verrick." As soon as it stopped she would be up and out of the door along with the other two members. Though she just couldn't help but wonder.. who exactly was bombing the city. It wasn't any uniform she could recognize.. though admittedly her knowledge of uniforms wasn't very good in the first place. Maybe they could find out who did it, that would be a good deed.

Yawning Dove fell asleep, during the long pauses of silence; only to wake up again, in a calm boring matter.
"After the barrage ends, we head towards the Communications tower to silence them. Then Come back to help with the push further into the City." Giving a yawn, he looked at Verrick. The two had gotten to know each other very well, so he might take his yawning as lack of interest; not many knew or could guess that he was an insomniac. Closing his eyes fell back into slumber, the sounds of battle not hampering his brief sleep cycle in the least. After a short amount of time he opened them again. Stretching his arms up to the sky, he straightened his curved back; no pop was heard, but he still felt a whole lot better. Looking around he looked at the girl, she was interesting; he always had a thing for girls who were different…Then shifting to Verrick, he eyed him warily. Verrick was the one in charged, and he seemed in control; a little bit too serious for his taste, but over all someone he was fine with following. Not feeling tired; Dove pulled his playing cards out and began shuffling the thin metallic cards. Dove never used them in front of people, except for games or gamble, but as a weapon …not yet. The metal in these cards was not magnetic, but he had other decks which were; flipping them over he began dishing them out on the floor, knowing they couldn’t scratch or be damaged. Making a stack of three, he looked up. “Any one up for a game of War” |

Verrick sighed as he heard Dove ask if they wanted to play a game of war. Funny though...they were in the middle of one, yet he wanted to play a card game. He would be safe enough, it just looked like the military was doing random bombing, with no real target in mind.
In between the bombs he could hear fighting, swords, guns, intertwined with each other... And he was stuck in a building. His Gunblade, now leaning against the wall, about six inches from his right hand, gleamed as sunlight broke through the dust and rubble in the air. He closed his eyes. Slightly irritated that he was stuck here, while his other friends...the ones in "The Sorceress's Knights" took all the glory on the front line. He didn't mind being with Rhea or Dove, He knew Rhea was a good fighter. But not sure about Dove. He would just rather fight with his 'brothers.' Hooking his left thumb in his thick leather belt, he looked to Dove and said, "No time, it will let up anymoment. Besides, what if an enemy soldier suddenly appeared with our pants down..." He glanced at Rhea. " I mean playing Cards." Grumbling he stood up and gripped his sword, swinging it so it rested on his right shoulder, then leaning against the crumbling door frame, looked towards the tower. Hopefully there was a challenge up there. He then Glanced to Rhea..." What are you trying to read in a time like this?" |

Rhea sat quietly with the her hood up. It was still going on. She looked over at the young guy.. dove. He had decided to bring out some of his cards, finally. She lifted her hood a little bit and looked over at his cards. She didn't much care for card games, they were too abstract and random. She preferred some.. certainties.. and things she could actually make plans for her. Though some of the trading card games the other young people played were fun. She had a deck or two herself, but they involved strategy, so it was better.
She looked over at Dove though when he asked, and shook her head. She smiled a little at him though so he knew it wasn't anything against him. She rolled her eyes some at his clarification, "If anyone has their pants down... there going to lose something precious to them." To emphasize a but she moved the scythe so the blade tapped on the wall, though of course Verrick knew she was playing with it. Though.. it was best just to not test certain things. She pulled out a book from her pocket, it was a simple book filled with various poems and stuff of various types. Everything from.. emotional to romantic. "I like poems." She had all kinds of books she read, everything from jokes to books on ethical topics. "Anxious to get out Verrick?" She left her hood up a bit so she could follow him with her eyes, he had to calm a bit.. enjoy life a bit more. She looked around the building they were in, they really weren't aiming, this whole damn place could go down quickly if they were trying.

Disappointed by their lack of interest, he reshuffled the cards. “Trust me I’m never caught off guard when I have my cards nearby”. Putting the cards back in his many card holders around his waist, he sighed and began sketching lines in the ground with one on his left out cards. Closing his eye he drifted back into a choppy sleep, awake just enough to know they were still there with them.
A loud explosion brought him back out of his rest, looking around puzzled as to what had happened; he soon leaned back against the wall realizing it had just been the battle still dragging on outside. You’d think after 6 months of not getting more than 2 hours of sleep he would be tired enough to go to sleep, or at least able to take a long nap; instead his sleep intervals keep getting shorter, any smaller and he wouldn’t be sleeping period. Standing up he stretched again, but instead of sitting back down he leaned on the nearby wall. Taking out a set of different playing metallic cards he began throwing them at the ground, some lying flat, a few standing straight. The metallic cards, where magnetic, which made it easy for him to build a house of cards standing up. Throwing down the last card he looked at the silver house, equipped with its own spire and wall. Kneeling he gathered up the cards and was about to start again, when he decided to make some more small talk. “Want to see a magic trick?” everyone lick card tricks right. |

"Maybe not as much as you might think, huh?" A voice came from behind them, easy and slightly fluid, as though it just seeped into their ears across the battlefield. It was relaxed, at ease, but it was almost the calm before the storm, it seemed; there was an edge to it that was just beneath the radar, a slight hint that there was a wolf snarling behind the split lips of Yoji Shinikawa.
He looked damn weird, especially back in Gabaldia where everything was so controlled, so military... he had always wondered where the fun was in that. His face was young and relaxed, his eyes closed to slits with a smile that stretched from ear to ear...almost literally. Piercings adorned his face, little silver (all of them silver) dots and rings peppered across him like shrapnel-three running up the right side of his nose, two in his left eyebrow, a fishook-like one in his lip, a small bead of silver on his tongue, and enough rings that it was hard to count in both ears. And then there was his mouth, which was perhaps the most bizarre of them; split from the corner of his mouth back to his cheeks, the clean gash stretched his smile dangerously far and was held closed only by a quartet of silver rings, one at the corner of his mouth and one in the middle of the cut. Dressed in a white button down top with the front top buttons undone and black slacks with silver chains and a few crosses hanging from them, he looked almost like a waiter gone bad but for the ebony wooden staff he carried at his side that looked suspiciously like the sheathe of a katana with no hand guard. "Don't shoot, don't shoot, I'm on your side!" he added quickly with a laugh as he held his massive, scarred hands up, though there wasn't much concern in his statement. "Command just sent me down for a little backup, apparently there's a team set up special for the command center take down." As he spoke he slid almost fluidly to one of the walls, groaning as he stretched his back and slid his hands behind his head. He radiated a physical presence, even relaxed, as though he was just waiting for the right chance to leap at the bait...some found it exciting, others found it repelling, but either way as he looked to the small group in front of him he could tell it was going to be a fun assignment.

When it begins, you will hear the sound of children screaming-as though from a great distance. A smoking orb of nothing will grow above your bed, and from it will emerge a thousand starving crows. As I slip through the widening maw in my new form, you will catch only a glimpse of my radiance before you are incinerated. Then, as tears of bubbling pitch stream down my face, my dark work will begin.
I will open one of my six mouths, and I will sing the song that ends the Earth. |

The strange bladed chain was coiled at his hip, attached to a leather strap which looked like it'd been tanned not too long ago by fairly unskilled hands. The young man who carried this peculiar weapon stood tall as he stared out over the battlefield. They'd told him it was an exam of some kind. He was skeptical as to the truth in this, perhaps taunting him with the academy in order to weasel some free work out of him. Crossing his arms, he tilted his head at the setting sun in the distance. At night he was at his best, a dark chain was hard to spot as it whipped through the air in the moonlight. Snatching his chain-whip off its strap for a quick second he gave it a spin over his head, snapped it to the side, and then recoiled it. His eyes never left the horizon as he let his body move with the weapon. Sighing a little, he ran a hand through his hair. "Too quiet...I want something to do...for war games this is pathetic. Where's the blood?"

What an exciting day to be out in the battlefield with two men, it really was my lucky day. An as always I could not resist have a feel of my comrades. Slowly I would move behind the second in command, though he had a look of mistrust towards me. I could not stop myself from wrapping my arms around his neck before spinning around and pulling his arms around me. Though I knew that he would have a small outburst it would provide a lasting impression on him about how women are just as perverted as the men that joined SeeD.
Moving away from him I stared out at the distance yet my sight did not see the wasteland of a city that was being rained on by hellfire created by man. No my sight was seeing something unseen by others, to a trap that had been triggered further down the hill. It marked in impending march of enemy soldiers to there position. Tipping my top hat off my head, my hand dove it to its endless abyss until an cane was pulled out. Spinning it around I began to draw in magic and prepare a spell that would freeze the land before them making it difficult for soldiers to get a stable footing. “Sirs, enemy troops have past the first checkpoint. I shall prepare the Ice Slope manoeuvre”

I hope no one gets too hurt... Anna thought as she climbed a rocky slope. She regretted volunteering to be her squads messenger, because they were sending her out in a war zone by herself to send a stupid message. In the back of her mind, she knew that they were going to use her like that just to get her out of the way. All because she was Galbadian.
Anna had thought that Trabia and Galbadia had been on good terms, but apparently some die hard students couldn't forget the past. She dismissed the thought and continued her trek. Anna wiped some sweat off of her forehead as she reached the crest of the slope. She saw a small group of people on a small hill near the Communication tower. Hopefully this would be the squad she was looking for. "Excuse me! Is this Squad C??" She brought her hand up in a salute as one turned to look at her.
