User name: Anaris
Preferred Category [Beg, Cas, Adv, etc]: High End Casual/Advanced
Preferred type of play [OnexOne, etc]: OnexOnes are preferred. Groups will be accepted if I like the plot.

Plushii
User name: Plushii
Preferred Category [Beg, Cas, Adv, etc]: Casual
Preferred Genres: Romance, drama, high school/college, basically anything that could happen in today's world. I'm not big on fantasy, sci-fi, or medieval roleplays...sorry!
Preferred type of play [OnexOne, etc]: One x One. Though if I'm feeling daring I *might* try a group roleplay.
Extra information: I feel much more comfortable playing males, or roleplaying male x male. Though I will roleplay male x female as long as I can play the guy. Until I fix some more personal issues I'm facing right now, I doubt I'll be able to play a female without getting too iffy about it. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Extra information: I like long detailed posts, i prefer to play females, but only because my male characters tend to suck. I'll do it... but be prepared for the sucking. I check in several times a day except Tues/Wed which are family days since my husband is off. Then I might be able to get on once in the evening.

User Name: HeySeuss
Summary
Preferred Categories: Advanced, or Advanced 1x1.
Preferred Genres: Science Fiction, Modern-Fantasy, Modern, Historical Drama, High School (guilty pleasure) and stuff that is off the beaten path.
Also a committed Star Wars Geek and Boston Red Sox fan.
I do several paragraphs per post, rough average being about 1,500-3,000 words per post.
I do a lot of GM'ing of advanced level RP's
Highly Creative
Tendency to brainstorm and post impulsively when my muse kicks in
Likes to use Google docs for more collaborative posts
Not really a smut guy, per se, fade to black is perfectly acceptable.
My RP's however, often involve themes on the mature side, frank observations on drugs, sex and the like.
Easily bored; I try to stay committed to an RP, but I also want reciprocity in the form of a partner that shares the enthusiasm for the plot and has their own ideas -- I don't like feeling used and that's how I feel when I'm expected to come up with all the ideas.
Definitely not a grammar nazi; I tend to need a lot of time to edit my stuff after I'm done writing, so I am tolerant of mistakes.
A Few Inspirations
The works of Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein, Frank Herbert, Philip K. Dick and John Scalzi - I am an insane and incorrigible science fiction dork. When I go in for sci-fi, I pay homage to the masters.
Robert Howard and J.R.R. Tolkien - The truth is that I find Tolkien's narrative to be sometimes meandering, like Herodotus, but I appreciate that he laid down the bones of creating fantasy settings. Robert Jordan was more interesting for his gritty vision of fantasy which spawned the Conan works. In any case, Robert Jordan, George R. Martin and my entire puberty spent rolling D20 all derive from this stuff.
The Canterbury Tales, by Geoffrey Chaucer - I enjoy satire. The Canterbury Tales are hardly the only satire enjoy; anything from Aristophanes to Mark Twain to more modern stuff is also enjoyed.
The Iliad and the Odyssey - I love Greek mythology, and to a lesser degree Norse, Mesopotamian and other.
The Works of William Gibson - he founded cyberpunk...and now he's claiming the age of cyberpunk is upon us. Maybe this site is a testament to that. We filter our human interaction through the internet, we make deeper connections in some ways, and desensitize and deprive ourselves in others.
Petrarch and the Italian Renaissance - the ideals of this era and a general sense of human history often guide my themes in RP.
"Obedience to Authority" by Stanley Milgram and "Eichmann in Jerusalem" by Hannah Arendt -- these works also guide my view of human nature, along with much of the other stuff by Hannah Arendt. And no, as a kid I took refuge in Tolkien, not Ayn Rand. As a result, I'm a much less scarred man.
"The Best and the Brightest" by David Halberstam - A history of the Kennedy Administration's policy-making brain, often men of lofty achievements in academia and business, and yet they curiously were seduced into confrontations with communism and eventually into the Vietnam War. It's an ode to hubris in the end, and I, as one can tell by the Greek reading above, respect hubris. I also love this era, am extensively and academically versed in it.
Of course I love Star Wars, I just have a hard time thinking outside of the box with it. On everything else I do, I can generally come up with very original sorts of RP's that pay homage without directly imitating.
About Me
I am a chef, which is to say that I am a culinary school product with the beaten up hands, burns scars and knife callus to prove my chops, but I also love to write; I've been at it for a while now, and I intend to keep writing. It is a passionately-followed hobby and I spend a lot of my free time on it.
I enjoy intricate plots; I enjoy world-building (or mythopoesis, as Tolkien called it) and I like to try to work on plots and develop my writing in the process of RP. These days, I am far more focused on trying to come up with a compelling, cohesive plot as well as good characters and make the whole thing flow. Sometimes, I get the idea that maybe I ought to just sit down and write a book, but the reality is that I'd much rather interact with people and work with other people. At heart, I am a social creature.
I tend to write a lot of paragraphs in a post, and that is why I classify myself as advanced -- I'm not trying to be snobbish, elitist or any of that. I mostly want to have fun and enjoy my writing, and I am not all that judgmental beyond the point of simply wanting people to put spaces between their paragraphs, periods on their sentences and using the word 'you' instead of 'u'. I'm not a grammar Nazi; I make plenty of mistakes myself, and I find that I spend about an hour editing for every two hours of writing any given post.
The Guild recently converted over their link system, which is why my resume looks a little thin; I cleaned out the list of all the RP's that this card used to list in favor of just listing my active RP's. Rest assured, I've been on the Guild for a while now, and I am not leaving any time soon.
Incidentally, I also am a huge believer in Google Docs. I may be a late adopter, but I absolutely love the idea of being able to piece together dialogues and interactions by the paragraph in this form. I tend to write fast and inspired, and sometimes the words pour out. G-Docs drastically helps people with my problem, which is that sometimes I really run ahead of myself.
