I am a retired Army Officer and Stay at home father of four children. Since I am at the house, I have plenty of opportunities to spend online. It is my dream to write a novel and have been working on one for a few years now, but nowhere near complete. My wife works too many hours, but when she is home, I don't play games or write RPs on the computer. In my signature, it states Thurs - Sun are my best days for RPs. She works those days.
I have basic knowledge and understanding of German and Spanish languages. I studied Political Science at the University of Massachusetts and also have an AS in Criminal Justice. I enlisted in the US Army right after I graduated from High School in 1982. I spent three years on active duty working as a Unit Armorer and a Unit Supply clerk. I was stationed at Ft. Carson, CO and Kirch Gons, West Germany.
After I left active duty, I joined the Army National Guard. I found the guard to be unprofessional and lacking in standards. Throughout the latter half of the 1980s and early 1990s, my world in the Guard changed. The Guard became much more professional and the standards improved immensely. I attended Officer Candidate School (OCS) and Infantry Officer Basic Course (IOBC) at Ft. Benning, GA. I served as a Rifle Platoon Leader, Heavy Mortar platoon Leader (4.2" mortars), Company Executive Officer, Company Commander, Battalion Personnel Officer, Battalion Supply Officer, Battalion Communications Officer, Brigade Assistant Supply Officer and Brigade Operations Officer. In 2001 and 2002 I served as a Battle Captain in the Division Operations Center (DOC) for Multi-National Division (North) MND(N) for the NATO operation Joint Forge in Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th Infantry Division (Light). I retired from the Guard in 2003 and was married the following year.
I have worked as a Reserve Police Officer for three different communities in Western Massachusetts. I spent three years working in a warehouse selecting groceries, three years as an account representative for an insurance company performing retirement planning services for my customers. I acquired a comfortable knowledge and understanding of how the stock market works during this time. I also spent five years working for two different railroads as a Conductor in Freight service. During this time, I saw much of the landscape in New England and the Hudson River valley of New York.
