STILL ACCEPTING. WE NEED TWO MORE PLAYERS BEFORE WE CAN BEGIN. http://i.imgur.com/ap77O.png
|OOC|Character Depository| Do you have a thirst for mystery? Want a unique roleplay experience that will leave you longing for more? Not afraid to have your character die for the lives of others? Murder.Edu is for you! After a dinner party gone wrong, your characters must band together and escape from the Baudelaire Mansion, a once beautiful home now cluttered with death traps and other horrors. Everyone has a secret and will learn more about themselves as they travel through the maze. Death could be around every corner, but will you solve the mystery and escape from harm’s way? Can you kill another human being if that’s the only way to survive? Test your limits with us and we will make this the ride of your life.
[The Basic Premise]
In short, your characters will be trapped in a mansion with a murderer who is wanting revenge. You will each discover why as the story unfolds, if you live long enough anyway. Before the roleplays start, a few basic "Roles" will be given out at random to some of you. One of these roles will be the murderer himself/herself and will converse with either myself or my Co-GM Serevee and as the story plays out, you will be able to kill one person every so often. This will be all detailed in the OOC or addressed here if anyone has any questions. If the group weeds out the murder among them, they will be able to escape. If not, well... I think you get the idea. The main thing this roleplay asks for is your understanding that you may have to write up a Death Post. This is an experiment of sorts, so please be patient.
[The Basic Rules]
1.) Don’t be a jerk. Respect the other players, both in-character and out-of-character. Should you have a concern with the roleplay itself, feel free to voice it in the OOC. However, if you have a problem with another player, please contact Squee or Seravee via PM. There is no need to clutter up the OOC with silly arguments that can be taken care of behind the scenes.
2.) On that same note, we are your GMs. Therefore, we reserve the right to remove players from this roleplay should we decide that they are violating one of our guidelines.
3.) No GMing or PPing. Really, you all should know that by now. Do not control other players, and do not make your character a flawless babe or superhuman detective. This is the advanced section, and we are striving to keep this as realistic as possible. Your characters all have their own strengths and flaws, so please play them accordingly.
4.) Do not make this your own little one on one. We do not want two people posting five pages of talking back and forth. That is no fun, and kills a roleplay. Of course, we will make exceptions for kill/chase scenes, but please be aware of how often you are posting.
5.) We realize that there will be some down-time in this roleplay. When someone else is being killed, or between big clues, for instance. For this reason, there is no need to post ten times a day. Do feel free to make small-talk with other characters, or venture out on your own. That being said, we do expect posts to be a decent size. A good sized paragraph at the very least. NO ONE LINERS. This is advanced, and you are all better than that.
6.) Real life happens, and we completely understand that. However, the only way that this roleplay will be successful is if everyone stays active. We are looking for at least one post every week, but more is preferable. Please only join if you are confident you can make the commitment. Should you need to take some time off, or leave the roleplay, we only ask that you voice that. Post in the OOC, or PM one of the GMs, and we will adjust accordingly.
[The Characters]
These characters are what you have to choose from. Though they are pre-made, Seravee and I have tried to make these characters as unique as possibly, but also allow you some space to work your own magic. In the OOC, everyone will be able to fill out the Character Sheet listed below for the character of their choice. Each Character has a special flaw or secret that is not allowed to be known to the others. This will be PM'd to you in due time.
The last person to volunteer and the first person to back out, Tim is all about “looking out for number one.” He is abrasive, and cares very little about how others view him. But is this “every man for yourself” mentality going to help or hurt him?
Alyssa Grett
Its easy to tell from the mansion, the Lamborghini and the private jet that Alyssa comes from a wealthy family. She has had everything handed to her, including the degree in communications that she certainly did not earn by herself. She is not exceptionally bright, but when everything is given to you, do you really have to be? http://i.imgur.com/OXjbu.png
Joel Lindsay
Your average college student, Joel loves to have fun. In his final year before Graduate School, he is having the time of his life with the girls, the guys, and the booze. Funny and easy-going, Joel is not so hard to get along with but sometimes his care-free attitude gets in the way.
Roseanne "Rose" Prang
After sixteen years in various Christian boarding schools and colleges, Rose knows the teachings of the Lord better than anyone she knows. She believes strongly in what she knows is right, and will not hesitate to voice her concern if she sees something wrong. But will her moral compass cause her to outcast those who could help her in the end?
Hal Donovan
Being socially awkward can only get you one of two things: ignored or beaten up. The victim during most of his school years, Hal isn't one to really talk unless he has too. Even then, things he does just gets him strange looks and whispers. Clumsy with his feet and his mouth, it takes a very tolerant person to finally get to know Hal and his strange ways. http://i.imgur.com/Hivqz.png
Melissa Westman With a bat of her eye-lashes, Melissa can get just about anything, or anyone, that she desires. She is not above lying or cheating to ensure that attention is always on her. But is this the kind of attention that a young woman really needs?
Thomas Monroe
Straight out of the military, Ray is hardheaded and stubborn. Always feeling the need to take charge, his temper will fly if he doesn't get his way. Not afraid to fight for what he believes in, people better watch out before they pick a fight with this guy. http://i.imgur.com/8iGEZ.png Renee Ellison Preferring the quiet, Renee loves to observe. Being shy has its advantages; number one being that she doesn't have to talk unless she absolutely has to. She is constantly making notes of things she sees and hears in her head and her memory is pretty top-notch.
[The Character Sheet]
If you feel like getting a head start and want to think about your character, here is the sheet. Do not post this in thread until the OOC is up and running. Name:
Age: Between 22-28
Occupation:
Appearance: Finer details, such as height, weight, clothing preferences, etc.
Personality:
PM Seravee or Squee with your character's Biography.
[Any Questions?]
This is an experimental roleplay. Questions are expected. Please don't hesitate to ask and no question is too stupid.

Finally finished putting up the thread. Sorry about that. ^^'

Oh so definitely interested in this! I'd really like to see this get off the ground. Now...it's just a matter of which character to play...*ponders*...

Very interested! Do we kind of reserve a particular character now or is it more of an assignment sort of deal?

Squee
You can express which character you want in this thread but the main character building will be in the OOC.

Jorick
So it's kind of a Clue RP, eh? Not my usual genre choice, but I'm interested.
I usually don't like pre-made characters, but these ones seem to be loosely defined enough that they're not super limiting. I'd be interested in playing any of the males with my order of preference being Hal, Tim, Thomas, and then Joel as my last choice that I'd still play anyway. I very rarely play females and thus am probably bad at it, but I'd also be down with playing Renee. The other three don't really catch my interest.

Seravee
I am so excited to see all this interest already!
Jorick, I'm glad that you feel that way about our characters, as that is exactly what we were aiming for. I dislike pre-made characters as well, so I wasn't too thrilled about making them for this. Pre-mades make sense for this particular roleplay, but they're not my favorite, which is why we tried to make them so painfully vague.

Jorick, I never connected it to Clue but now that you mention it, I guess I was a bit inspired by it! Haha. I am really glad you feel that way about the characters. I also hate pre-mades, but it works better for our plot and all of that jazz.

Joining in on that dislike for pre-made characters. But my interest is piqued, nonetheless. Partly because I used to love Clue, hahaha. I think I'll keep an eye out for the OOC before I actually commit, if that's alright.
Also, I can't help myself. Seravee, is your location a reference to Pendragon? If not, completely ignore the fact that I have just made a fool of myself. c:

Seravee
Haha it is! Congratulations on being the first to correctly place it. Pendragon is my favorite series. :)
