Problems with Muse...

Alright. SO I've been roleplaying for around six years around different websites. I got my start being an illiterate nub on the Runescape forums and, six years later, I've made my way here to try my hand at some of the advanced roleplays. I've always had trouble with keeping interest in roleplays long enough to see them through for more than a week or two (I blame my ADD xD). But, lately, I've lost the will to join... Anything, really. I feel like I've lost my spark. I used to have a rush of excitement when something plot relevant happened in a roleplay, much like some one would while reading a book. But now? I can't seem to muster the creativity to just join a thread. Things that would have interested me two years ago suddenly sound dull and boring, and like they don't deserve the chance to be great in my eyes.

So my question to all you reading this; How do you keep your muse going? I really don't want to stop roleplaying, but it feel like it's lost it's appeal to me :< Any advice would be much appreciated.

Either take a break for awhile, or join the RP with the purpose to break it In Character, one way or another, which can be easily stopped by the GM by being creative. Do note that the latter could give you a bad name.

I think we've all reached the point where we can't find any roleplays that interest us. Try making your own?

I define what I want, then find a way to get or achieve that.

So, what do you want from roleplaying? 'cause, part of me reads this and thinks... Sweetie, just go read a book.

Reading, learning, and getting or utilizing what you know or what you've experienced can really help, yeah. If it's not just emotions getting the best of you (if it is, that passes eventually, unless something's wrong), you probably need to start doing something new/different or something more. If you do something enough times, and it goes the same way, the novelty and fun is somewhere between sometimes and usually lost. People's standards for fun or good or the like change with how much or what they do - what used to be ridiculously fun for me in RPs would probably be unbelievably dull now. It used to be even just a post in response, whatever it was, to what I wrote was really awesome, when I first started out and I was a young newbie to everything.

You'll always hit a wall eventually (I doubt anyone that's written, or done art, etc. etc. long enough would tell you they've never experienced any writer's block or artist's block or the like ever in their life), it's just something you have to get through. Either by taking a break, or finding a way around it.

I've hit a wall multiple times before, and this feels exactly like it. The only difference this time is taht I don't want to stop. I have this need to roleplay, but I have no muse to do so with. A few threads interest me, but the limitations on characters (Age, Mainly) kind of keep me from trying to fit in my character. My soul cries out for collaborative story-writing, but my mind tells me I should stop X . X
