Idea I need some help with..

Been kicking around an idea for a science fiction plot for a while now. It's loosely based off the STALKER franchise, so some familiarity with that would be helpful..

The basis of the story has CERN activating a bigger, badder particle accelerator sometime within the next decade. Much like when the LHC was activated, people were going mad and talking about it creating a singularity and swallowing the entire Earth.. Which didn't happen, obviously. But with this one, something does.

It creates an anomalous zone that swallows most of the area around CERN - which is in France close to the borders of Switzerland and Italy - and takes everything we understand about nature, physics, what have you and twists it. Inside this Zone is a whole new world, but due to the dangers not many people are willing to risk it, so interested parties not willing to go on their own are forced to employ guides, guards, mercenaries, what have you.


Much like in the STALKER franchise, I imagine the military having a large presence. Likely NATO, given all the affected nation's involvement in the group, and also potentially PMCs in some areas as well. Thing is, as far as what exactly should be going on in there, I'm having a bit of trouble not making it look like a total STALKER ripoff. So, if anyone is interested in playing or helping, I'd love to hear from you!

Well - this sounds very interesting. Though I know nothing about the stalker universe - so maybe that would help in not making it very similar? Otherwise I can read up on it :)

What kind of other world are we talking here? :)
