Introduction -

It is the fictional 21st Century...
The world has always been filled with Magic, since the middle ages the idea of wielding such a power became popular in the Monarchies of Europe, then Asia, Africa, and eventually the entire world. Of course, this power was revealed to common people around 1600 and since then the world had taken a turn. Wars would be fought with Magic, the power would be useful in everyday life just as well. Earlier in time, roughly around 1650, an order called the Circle of Magicka arose within Moscow, Russia. The Circle enforced the 'rules' of using Magic. Any Mage who stepped out of line and into darkness would be swiftly dealt with, and those who wished to harness magical power for the good of the world were educated and became the next generation of 'Enforcers'. The Circle still exists today, and a branch of it is called 'Magicka Academy' where young people from all over can learn to use Magic responsibly and control it in society. Students from the Academy are often given jobs to battle against evil users of Magic, who normally use the power to destroy and murder, and bend the wills of those around them. That, or simple beasts and demons created by 'Dark Arts', a set of more evil Magics which are known to cause only suffering and pain...

On the bright side, you're a Student of Magicka Academy. Your future job is to prevent Dark Mages and people/creatures like them from bringing disaster upon humanity. Your current job is to learn, and to train well for that future.

The Circle of Magicka & The Academy

The Circle dates back to 1650, they were previously Knights and Wizards of various courts around the world. It was their decision to allow common folk to inherit their knowledge of Magic and fight against those who used Magic for all the wrong reasons. From this humble beginning, the Circle now has an embassy in each continent of the world and they dominate the world of Magic. 'Dark Mage' groups are hastily defeated by their legendary 'Enforcers', Mages who go beyond the call of duty to protect the world and upkeep law and order with Magic. Magic:
1) Reinforcement Magic - Joseph has spent many years with his father working on this. He is fairly advanced on using it on himself and inanimate object.
2) Projection Magic - The second magic he learned. He is adept at it able to create simple things like silverware, close combat weapons like swords and spears etc. and other little things.
3) Reality Marble: Unlimited Blade Works - A family magic passed down from generation to generation. Joseph can only hold it for about 15 minutes at max. This would be equivalent to three to four posts. post 1 is it being activated. Post 2 is the battle in the marble. Post 3 is in addition to post 2 and the end of the magic. The magic ends at the beginning of post 4 meaning the first sentence will~not might~will end it.
Magic Description:

Reinforcement Magic is a magic that reinforces the purpose of existence such as increasing the sharpness of a knife, the nourishment of food, or in the case of a living creature, physical strength and durability. It is impossible to reinforce something vague. As living things will resist invasion of your prana, reinforcing someone else is the hardest. By putting this in application, one would be able to create a bow out of the branch of a tree, repair a soccer ball, or change the shape of an object.

Projection is a Magecraft that materializes objects, in accordance to the caster’s imagination, through the use of prana. Though useful the down fall is that the object created slowly fades away after being created. The time it takes obviously depends on the casters skill level as well as his/her prana.

Reality Marble: Unlimited Blade Works: is a powerful magic known only to the Emiya Family. Once the incantations have been completed, an illusionary fire that doesn't emit any heat spreads out to form a boundary and wall for the bounded field. The bright light fills the vision of those present, and manifests an open, barren desert with monolithic black gears gyrating in the distance. It is a kingdom of rubble littered with countless swords anchored in the ground like grave markers in a wasteyard. It contains all of the raw materials and sorcery needed for the formation of the weapons, and it records and analyzes all weapons and defensive armaments encountered.

The number of unique weapons encountered and recorded by the Emiya family exceeds numerous thousands, most of which are magical weapons. Their entire histories, compositions, and designs are all perfectly recorded, allowing for instant proficiency with the weapons by inheriting all combat skills and techniques utilized by their original owners. Close combat weapons such as swords, spears, and halberds are the main focus of the Reality Marble in accordance with the Emiya's Origin of "Sword", which also makes it impossible to record or reproduce modern weaponry like guns and other mobile weapons. Shields and defensive armaments can be reproduced with a much greater struggle, as the cost in prana is high, two or three times greater than a sword, and the effects are merely transient compared to the originals.

Weapons encountered are immediately analyzed with a single glance, enabling them to be projected immediately afterward, and once projected, they are stored within the Reality Marble for later use. Of course, the abilities of the Reality Marble like learning the techniques nearly instantly only occur while in the marble. Outside the caster is forced to rely on their own skill.

History: Joseph was an only child. As such he alone was burdened with the job to carry on his father and mothers wish for there children to go to Magicka Academy and become part of the circle. As such when he was ready his father began to train him. However, Joseph's magical ability was lower than his parents had expected. And so his training was intensified. As the years went on he got better. His talent may have been lacking, but with the amount of work he put into it he began to exceed the expectations. And so when the time was right he was finally able to go to Magicka Academy.
Personality: He's, to be honest, the hero type. He's a good guy and normally tries to help anyone and everyone he can. He's a loyal friend and would do whatever it takes to help the people he cares about and fulfill his and his parent's wish. He's also very bad at talking to girls. He gets nervous. he might be nice, but good with girls he is not.

1) Creature Imagining - Chris is advanced at this, but at best he can summon three smaller creatures, two larger sized or one huge creature.

It allows the caster to convert his blood or blood he/she has consumed into prana. Of course, the castor using their own is dangerous which is why vampires tend to go for using the blood of others.

History: He's had a hard life. He grew up without parents and with most people around him fearing him. He was always sad. Up until he was adopted. The woman who adopted him was kind and had two daughters. She was also a mage. She knew magic unique to her since she'd created it after years of research. She began to teach him along with her daughters so she could pass on the legacy. One night, however, his new mother was attacked. She was killed in her own room and he was the first to come to her side. However, because of what he was when his sisters came they immediately jumped to the conclusion that he'd done it. He ran away not wanting to hurt his sisters whom had attacked him. He was alone again. As as the years passed nothing really seemed to change. And as he roamed about he eventually came to Magicka Academy. And so here he is. Chris is also working on trying to create his own magic. It will be a Reality Marble which he already has a basic idea of. However, the research and power that would be needed is quite extensive and not at his disposal as of yet. Not to mention he has a bit of a hard time focusing on his own work sometimes. So for now he only tries in his spare time.
Personality: Chris is a bit cold. He tries to stay away from people due to his fear of being hurt and of hurting them. He tends to try and be alone and rarely gets close to people. However, when he does get close to someone he is very loyal to them and shows his true self which is somewhat childish and kind.

Time: Afternoon, December 20th, 2012
Location: Somewhere in the Scottish Highlands - Magicka Academy

It was a snowy, yet calm afternoon up on the Highlands. The Academy was shut tight to stop the freezing air from seeping in. Tomorrow, some Mayan prophecy was supposed to come true leaving the world in an apocalyptic state - or so the gullible thought anyway. Heise Saito was asleep in his room at this time, as he had no classes until tomorrow, and he was generally a lazy young man. However that didn't stop him from being recognised as one of the most successful students attending the Academy. When he decided to make an effort he was surprisingly talented in all fields taught here, he'd been home schooled and trained before moving here two years ago with his sister. He never told anyone why, because they never asked.

Speaking of his sister, Hana was outside in the courtyard, sat on a bench and reading a book on 'The End of the World' theories. Obviously she was worried by all this talk of the coming apocalypse... She was wrapped up warm, and didn't really mind the cold. This was peaceful, and that was all that really mattered.

(If you're wondering, yeah, something is gonna happen on the 21st in this RP :3)

Christopher walked calmly through the courtyard holding a stack of four books. Two were on reality marbles, one on controlling and raising his level of prana and the last was a book on various mages of the past. Since he had a little free time he'd taken the chance to go to the library and pick them up. "It's been a while since I was able to research anything." He said to himself smiling. This was actually only just an added bonus to rush back to his room. His real reason was to get out of the cold and out of a few of the thick layers of clothing covering him. He was bundled up tight. He absolutely hated the cold.

Joseph on the other hand walked through the courtyard happily. "I can't say it's my favorite, but still. I love the weather today." He said to himself happily. He wasn't sure about the whole end of the world thing, but even if it was true he figured there was no sense in getting all down and worried about it. However, some people were taking the chance to fulfill a few things before they left. In his time at the academy Joseph had gotten a sort of a reputation for protecting the weaker kids from the slightly stronger guys. In other words, he stopped the bullies. And now the day before the world was suppose to end a small group of about five guys confronted him. "Alright Emiya. If we're all gonna die tomorrow then we're gonna take care of you right here and now." One of them said angrily.

((lol can't wait XD Oh and I thought it might be a little fun to kick it off with a little action X3))

Hana couldn't help but pay attention to the scene right in front of the bench, bullies had always been a problem here at the Academy. She put the book marker between two pages and shut it, placing it on the table and getting between the two 'teams' standing off. "Excuse me.. But could you please not fight? It's just that--" She froze as one of the group glared at her as if to say 'Interfere and Die!'. She took a few steps back to be beside Joseph and placed one hand on the katana's hilt. To be honest, Hana had a lot of respect for Emiya because he always stood up for the weak. She didn't want to let him fight by himself, especially against more than he could handle. "D-Do you mind? I can walk away if you'd like to fight alone."

Joseph looked at Hana for a second before smiling. "Two is better than one right?" He asked smiling before looking at the group. "Run along girly. If you get involved don't think we'll hesitate to take you down along with Emiya." He said angrily. Out of the five guys there were two who practiced Fire Magic, one with Ice Magic, one with Air magic and one with wind magic. Joseph got into a fighting stance as the guy prepared to attack. "You know... If you don't want to you don't have to help me." He said calmly.

Chris had been passing when he saw. He thought it might be best not to get involved and continued on his way. However, if anything happened he wouldn't hesitate to stop them before they seriously destroyed something.

"I'm 99% sure I want to help you. From the way they sound, they want to do more than just damage. So they'll just have to 'take me down' too." Hana said so that the five guys could hear. Her grip loosened slightly on the katana's hilt as she prepared to fight. Whoever made the first move would be at a disadvantage, and seeing as there were five of them, they could be overly confident, and that's exactly what Hana was counting on. They might try and kill herself and Joseph, but she wasn't going to try and do the same. To disable or wound the opponent was her idea of finishing a fight...
