In your local town or city, there is an art display. This art display might be in an art museum, arts and craft show, at the library or where ever you might want to be. In this art display is a picture with out an artist's name. There is a silver plated sign on the painting that you can't quite read. Maybe you look around, maybe you walk away but come back to the picture to take another look. No one else really pays any attention to the picture but you are drawn to it. It might be roped off or have a laser light thingy to keep people back. This how ever, won't stop you for you must get close enough to read the sign. You creep, sneak or some how get close enough to the picture so that you can read the sign which says:

Some how the magical picture compels you to touch it and so you do....... then you fall into a far away land where magic reigns supreme.

In the a castle called Caldwell's Academy of Magical Talents, Lady Rosewoode has called all of her staff to the front hall. She was ready to go and get her new students.

"I want everyone to know that the students will be coming. They can be anywhere from accepting their new home to downright biligerant. We will need to calm them, organize them quickly so that they can be moved quickly through the Decontamination Waterfalls and get them on the magic carpet and back here. Any questions?" Lady Rosewoode asked as the huge front doors open to the carpet that was waiting outside the door.

among the crowd of teachers; johnson stood, sipping a cup of tea. he was tall for his age, six feet if not a little more and His long, white hair flowed behind his back, tied in a ponytail. he wore a dark, aquamarine suit adorned with gold trimming. he seemed to exude an aura of nobility as he turned to face the headmaster "only one, madam. i believe that a storm was brewing near our destination..would you like me to clear it up for our passage?" he asked politely

picking up her bag, Hannah realized she had overestimated her time.
she had three minutes to get to the carpet! this was not a good start to
the year! starting to run as she made it out the door, she cheated a bit by
modifying her muscles, giving her more speed. as she rounded the corner, she
saw the doors opening, she had made it just in time! slowing down, she panted
up to the group, receiving many stares. catching her breath, she bowed to
lady Rosewoode, "I'm so sorry I'm late! i got caught up in my papers and didn't
notice the time."

Lady Rosewoode smiled and spoke to Johnson.

"Yes, please if you do not mind. You are here now Hannah. Please let us sit and when it is clear, Johnson, please guide the carpet to the pick up spot. Hannah, here is are the bracelets for each student.Wear the gloves that are in the case. Do not touch the bracelet with your bare hands, please."

Lady Rosewoode sat down on the carpet.

picking up the case, Hannah took her seat on the carpet, still a little out of breath. then noticing she had dropped her bag, she silently cursed herself for being so disorganized, picked up the bag and returned to the carpet. she opened up the bag first to check its contents. some basic medical supplies and some more advanced remedies she had made. there were some magical what-nots in there too. technical term that, what-nots. she thought to herself in amusement. then closing her bag, she carefully opened the case, making sure not to touch any of the contents, taking inventory even though she knew she would find nothing missing or out of place. Lady Rosewoode would never make a mistake in something like this. satisfied, she closed the case and waited for take-off.

Johnson returned the smile in kind. "of course, madam. it should be a simple matter.." he said, looking to the distance where the storm was. he put his hand outward, sparks of his storm magic fluttering at his finger tips. " clouds be parted, storm be quelled..thunder gone, rain away. for now it's time for the sun to play." he said in a slight chant. it was one of his more simple incantations, but oh so effective. surely enough, the storm dispersed "good. now, let us go forth, shall we?" he asked rhetorically as the carpet began it's journey towards the pick up spot

Once they arrived at the exit of the Contamination Falls, Lady Rosewoode stood up and walked to the entrance of the cave to where there was a bridge to the other side. The stone rolled away to reveal the meadow where there students would fall. Lady Rosewoode smiled since they were early.

"They should arrive soon now." she announced.

out for a walk today, Clara kept her head down on her way to the local museum.
for the past month she had gone bi-weekly to get some exercise. listening to her
favorite song in one ear, she hummed along with the tune. it felt good to be able
to walk around outside, after 15 years of being inside. it was almost enough to
get her tail wagging, but she caught herself, keeping a tight reign on it. when
she got to the museum, it was just the same as she remembered it, even on the inside.
they never got any new exhibits, but that was fine. the ones they had already kept her
occupied for hours. she looked around and noticed that she was wrong, there was in
fact a new painting in the corner. the people around it seemed to pay it no mind
though, which she found strange, as it was an incredible work of art, almost seeming
to move. with a start, she realized she had crossed the room to stand in front of it
without realizing. there was a plaque under the painting, but she couldn't quite make out
the words. leaning closer, she could almost make out the words, but she lost her balance
and had to put a hand out to steady herself. but instead of meeting the wall she expected,
her hand passed through the painting, and she tumbled after it.

“Do you need assistance?” A soft voice startled Jaden and snatched him out of it. He looked around as if awakening from a dream and his eyes fell on a kind looking woman in a uniform. She smiled at him in a questioning manner and gestured towards the wall. “You have been starting at it for a while… Do you want any information about it?” Jaden was still in a daze and had trouble focusing. It took him seconds only to understand what her words meant. The painting. She was talking about the painting he had been staring at for the past… How long had it been? 10 minutes? 20? An hour? He realized the woman was patiently waiting for an answer. “I… No… I… Thank you.” Barely being able to form a proper sentence, he just stumbled away and left, without even looking back to see the nice assistants reaction.
Jaden knew why he kept coming back. For the past week, ever since that silly school trip, he kept coming back to this art gallery. He knew, but he couldn’t explain it. It was something about this painting. There it was, on the wall, a silly painting displaying nothing but a white castle on a mesa. But ever since he had first laid eye on it, he couldn’t help staring at it. And every so often he thought he saw it. A twitching. A shifting. Once he even thought he had seen a quick lightning bolt. A lightning bolt inside a painting, what a ridiculous thought. Then again…
Today he was here again. Again! How many times did that make? And he found himself watching the painting again. The ominous pulling he felt from it was stronger than ever before. He couldn’t help himself. He had to get closer. He slowly approached it. While getting closer, he was sure that the movement in the painting was getting stronger. When he was close enough to see details, he noticed there was something inscribed in the bottem part of the frame. He squinted his eyes together so that he could read what it said

Magic…? Jaden wondered if this was a joke. Maybe it said something more in smaller letters? He leaned forward a little more and put his hand on the frame to keep his balance. Doing this, his fingertips accidentally brushed the upper part of the painting. In a flash the painting grew larger and filled out his entire field of vision. Before he could realize what was happening he had already lost consciousness.

Well, another day at the library. Why was he here? Good question. He wasn't a big fan of libraries. Hell, he wasn't a big fan of reading. He was here for his friend Jace, of course. The lazy bum needed some books for study session and who better to ask then the star baseball player. After all, he was the only guy with a drivers license. He grumbled, walking through the library and trying to find some books. Music blared from his pocket, his Iphone 5 loud and clear to anyone nearby, the sleek black cover with skulls on it matching his wrist bands and hoodie. His tender blue eyes outfitted his orange hair, and his slim body shined like a bulb from the light that reflected off the window.

A single bony finger traced the stems of all sorts of different books, the subtle textures of each different paged series sending shivers down his spine. He grabbed a book off the shelf, matching it with the piece of crumpled paper he had in his hand. Yeah, that was the one. He stuffed it in his book bag, something he only kept for this occasion- Mostly because it looked completely ridiculous. Checking the time on his Iphone, he nodded and went over to the desk to check out the books. Shifting through his pocket for his wallet, he passed by his switchblade, his car keys (Which had a cute little wolf on the end) and his loose change, he took hold of his wallet. It was a HALO wallet, something his father gave him for his 17th birthday, and was attached to metal chain that cut off along his belt loop. He flipped through the various cards and pulled out his library card- This thing was ancient, back from middle school when they had mandatory field trips... Jeez.

He smiled politely and passed it to the beautiful looking librarian, and was tempted to kiss her hand- You know, if that wouldn't have her calling the cops on him, that is. Instead, he pocketed his stuff, took the book, and with a wave and a wink, Blu went on his marry way.

On his way out though, he noticed something... Something odd. A picture, framed... Yet... It was flashing? Flashing pictures, jeez, dont see that every day. He was about to pass by it without a second thought when something... He didn't know what, compelled him to go over to the painting. With a few cautious steps, he read the sign... Some mumbojumbo about magic. Lame. But... He kind of wanted to know if that lightning was real, fake, or some optical illusion... His fingers moved up and pressed against the frame, then the picture... Then...


He blinked. He was no longer where he was before. He fell face first into... Something. What just happened? Did he black out? Get kicked out of the library? Was he /dead/? He pinched himself.

Nope, he wasn't dead yet. Ow. He rubbed his shoulder and slowly stood up, looking around him. Where... Where the hell was he?
