It all started when a letter arrived...

Greetings students you have been accepted to your first year here at Yokai Academy! You will now get a chance to enjoy a world without humans getting involved in your everyday lives. At this school you will learn how to interact with the humans once you leave and together we will make a world where everyone can live together be it they are monsters or humans. We hope you will enjoy your stay here but remember...be careful....this school is known for having violent students...don't stray to far from the school grounds or otherwise the rules won't save you.

The Rules are as follows for those unaware:

School Rules:
1. You must always be in your human form while on school grounds. Anything beyond it is beyond our realm of authority.
2. Violence is prohibited on school grounds and must be taken elsewhere.
3. Any human who sees the academy will die. No acceptions this is to make sure the humans don't over react before we can achieve the goals of the school.
4. You must join at least one club by the end of the first semester.
5. The bus only comes once a month if you miss it you are out of luck.
6. You are prohibited from taking or brining magical objects or forbidden objects from or to the school without permission from the head master.
7. You are not allowed to share you monster identity with anyone public or private unless circumstances force you to and the Security Team/Club will have the right to ask you your identity if they have definitive proof that you may or may not be a human.

The school for monsters, by monsters, and only for monsters. The school known as Yokai Academy had sent these notes to all year students with various changes depending on year. The day has finally arrived it was a bright sunny day near the shore with that normal sea salt in the air and everyone was excited for their first day of school. No humans to insult you, scare you, mock you, and or hurt you. It was a dream most monsters go for minus some who think otherwise. Regardless on your stance towards them however it is time to go to school. Wake up...

Joshua woke up to shouting and pounding on his door in such a loud way it hurt his ears. He grunted in annoyance and yawned stretching and rubbed his messy blue hair and grumbled as he heard his aunt Rosa calling him from outside his door and she was telling him, or more precisely yelling at him which Joshua disliked, to get ready for his first day at school. Joshua had been staying there up until now due to him not having a place to stay nearby. Rosa had left the pack a long time ago to make her way as a lone wolf and instead had settled down to make a family with another werewolf named Ben. Ben was a rather nice guy but he got angry really easily but the family story would be for another time...

"I'm coming I'm coming my god don't shout so loud! I just overslept is all jeez you're worse than my mom aunty!" Joshua said getting his clothes quickly and while taking off his pajamas. He remembered his mom beating the hell out of him when he use to complain about going to school when he was little. He was a insolent little cub back then...wait back then he still was! Joshua loved his aunty but she was very much not going to let him sleep more than he could. He decided he wouldn't complain as his aunty told him to stop complaining and called him a slow poke. He took a brief shower, while werewolves hate to bathe it would be a bad first impression if he didn't and GODS save him if he did not make a good impression, and then he got dressed in his school uniform muttering in annoyance at wearing a uniform and it was a tacky shade of green as well! He grabbed his suit case and backpack from his room and ran downstairs to see his aunt waiting for him with her typical smile. She was rather cute in her own sort of way, but Joshua for one was not that type of guy.

"Excited for your first day at school Joshy? It's been awhile since you've came to Japan for it. I hope you can get along well with the others. Just show'em who's top werewolf got it? No nephew of my blood is going to get up staged got it? So give it your best ok?" She joked raising her arm and generally looking like Rosie the Riveter from the old war posters back in world war two. She had made him some pork and waffles for breakfast which Joshua was glad for. His aunty always knew what he liked to bad uncle Ben was not here to see him. Ben worked long hours and he started late in the morning when Joshua saw him he was always pooped and exhausted panting like he just fought a ogre. Joshua guessed that may have been true as well because he spent his vacation studying magical items and objects. It was boring but also interesting and it surely would give him something to brag about to any of his new friends. They talked and chatted and enjoyed each other’s' company as they always did in the morning joking and screwing around like they were both high school students.

"Thanks Aunty Rosa! Man I'm going to miss your cooking each morning you are really good." Joshua chuckled and smiled showing his fangs which Rosa also replied with a similar laugh. His family was weird like that. Regardless once Joshua finished eating he kissed his aunt on the cheek and walked to the door with her.

"Oh shut it Josh you'll live you scoundrel! Besides I’m not that good of a cook you would eat a pan if I put it in a deep fry oven. Uncle Ben is proud of you and so am I you've grown so much since we last saw you six years ago in grade school. Uncle Ben also said to give'em all you have and take everything you can. It's your day to shine my nephew show'em how it's done!" she said overly exaggerating how it is and being over the top like an anime character.

"Thanks aunty I will I promise you I'll make friends and I'll be the top dog my mom and dad want me to be! I'll call you and write letters cya!" Joshua hugged her quickly then ran out the door as she waved after him. However Joshua tripped and fell on his face when she said bring back home a good girl to which Joshua said screw off he was not going to school to look for a girl! He was going there to show off really...BUT THAT WAS BESIDES THE POINT!!! Joshua got back up and ignored the laughter of his aunt and he ran at a incredible speed like a top track star jogger even in his human form he was more than a match for most people and animals. Wind surpured past his face and he enjoyed how wild it made him feel like he could run forever and ignore any troubles he needed to! It made him feel free and it made him feel awesome however it also made him ignorant of his surroundings...He bumped against one girl on the way there, he did not see her face nor did he bother with her that much because he sure as hell was not going to be late and almost tripped her but he apologized quickly before continuing running.

He finally reached the bus stop panting slightly, he had run about three miles to get there in less than twenty minutes so that was that however he noticed he was the only one there. He went over and sat down on the vacant bench and cracked his neck and fingers than gave a wolfish yawn.

"Well nothing to do but wait for the others I guess I can't be the only guy here to be from this town." Joshua said lazily sitting down on the nearby bench. He hated being the first one to the party so to speak! He looked like a delinquent slouched over and his school blazer quite messy. However he really did not care he had his left leg crossed over his right in a comfortable position not caring what others thought of him. That's just how Joshua was a lazy bastard...however he was an athletic lazy bastard....and he loved every moment of it.

Arcania hadn't exactly slept the night before. Her mind wouldn't stop running and so the harpy had ended up tossing and turning until she finally got so fed up with it that she crawled through her window and flew up to the cliffs. Which was why she was currently sitting on a rock overlooking the beach, watching the sun come up for what would probably be the last time at home. Hopefully I'll be able to watch it from the academy as well she mused, pursing her lips thoughtfully as she closed her eyes for a moment.


Apparently it was a longer moment than she had thought because the harpy was suddenly jolted awake by her mother's harsh cries, yelling for her to get her butt back home and get ready to leave because she was about to miss the late bus as well. "Ugh, this is going to be annoying, I can already tell," the girl grumbled, getting up and brushing sand off her clothes with irritated motions. Considering there was no one else around in their neck of the woods Arcania shifted into her monster form for a moment so that she could use her wings to slow her fall as she simply jumped off the cliff, ignoring her mother's screech of fear and anger at her risky move.

"I'm fine mother, now let me by," Arcania said, landing neatly in front of the door and changing back into her human form as she passed through, heading for her room to gather her things. It was going to be a long day with an alarm call like that for goodness sakes. Grabbing her things the girl paused in the doorway, staring at her mother in amazement. Was she... crying? "Oh please mother, let's not do this now," she commented, making a slight face. Of course she would fall apart right now, just to be annoying. The woman probably didn't have that intent (with her mother Arcania could never be sure) but it certainly came across that way.


"I'm just going to miss you," the woman blubbered, embracing her daughter before she could do anything about it. After hugging her back a little timidly Arcania pried herself away and picked up her things, fleeing the house and calling her goodbyes over her shoulder. Well that was unexpected she thought once she could safely slow to a walk, not all that bothered by the fact that she should probably be moving far more quickly if she didn't want to miss the bus like her mother had said. It would be embarrassing to have to walk all the way back and admit that she had done so after all. Then again she could just follow the bus in the air... Oh, wait, no. She wasn't supposed to use her powers or anything while at the school, and she could only assume that extended to the bus as well. Clearly she would just have to hoof it and hope she made it on time.


Taking a shortcut through the woods managed to get Arcania to the bus stop on time, and she promptly found that she was not alone. There was a boy sitting on a bench not far off and Arcania thought there was little doubt he was going to the academy as well. Then again she wasn't about to ask, so she simply wandered over and sat down as far away from him on the bench as she could manage, setting her shoulder bag down on the ground beside her. I hope the bus shows up soon so we can get there and get all that meet and greet stuff over with. That was the one thing she was definitely not looking forward to and she couldn't wait for it to be over so that things could settle down and she could find her place at the academy her own way.

Burning... hot.. it was so hot and the left side was burning. Bubbling almost it seemed, it burned before Alex felt a hand place on her shoulder. Her bight blue eyes snapped opens, dilated a bit before a snarl escaped her lips, her heart racing in terror and adrenaline as her teeth snapped onto the approaching hand. A familiar yelp was heard and the taste of blood grew within the feral werewolf's mouth. Her good right ear twitched softly as the voice spoke slow and quiet, as if she was talking to a wild animal.

"Alex, sweetie, its okay. Its me Aunt Lian." Came the soft caring voice. Alex glanced up to see a small woman with silver hair and emerald eyes. She had fair skin, and was soft and petite. Not many would expect this woman to be a werewolf, but she was and she was a distant kin who took care of her for eight years. Slowly she released the grip on the hand and sat up, glancing away. "Sorry...." came a simple reply from the sixteen year old as she moved away to silently gather some clothes. This happened often, and it was lucky Aunt Lian was a patient woman, not many would be as tolerable with such actions.

"It's okay, you looked like you had a bad dream... come you need to get ready for school." Aunt Lian with a smile before leaving to give the young disabled werewolf some time. Alex just snorted, thinking that her relative simply wanted to be rid of her, a nuisance, and different from the rest of them. It didn't matter though, she didn't care, although being away from kin might give her some peace. Along with humans who were judgemental but fearful creatures. Of course she doubted this monster school will be any better, but she might as well somewhat attempt to be... a little more knowledgeable of the human world.

She slipped on a white t shirt, a black leather jacket with black fingerless biker gloves, and dark blue baggy jeans with black tennis shoes. She brushed her red mane back a bit before picking up her dark blue two strap backpack by one strap and headed out. Ignoring the comments made from her uncle and a couple of her cousins. She did however nod in reply to Aunt Lian's farewell and good luck.

Walking along, she went through the woods, prefering the forest, and soon arrived at the bus stop. She saw a few others there, but ignored them and simply stood a few feet away from them. Still her posture was stiff and alert, and she always made sure her good eye was on them.

Elijah was up before everybody in his family as usual. For being 'children of the night' they often slept through the night. Elijah had already done is daily routine, which included but not limited too showering, shaving, going out for a light run/ simple exercises, eating and whatever else needed too be done. Elijah was almost done packing his suitcase and backpack wit the necessary needs. He made sure he had his cards and tennis ball before closing his suitcase and zipping up the back pack. Once he made sure his school uniform was ironed and prepped. He then put it on delicately as if it was a fragile piece of equipment. Elijah wanted to be sure that he looked the best out of most of the students at Yokai Academy. Once he was done. He put on his backpack and grabbed his suitcase in his left hand. Elijah then started walking too the front door of the house he lived in. As he got closer to the front door he saw that a small note had been taped to it. Elijah grabbed the note with his right hand and started reading it out loud.
"Elijah you have made both me and your father very proud. We hope that you will do well in your new school. Try not to get into any fights, but don't let others bully you again. If you can write or call us some time. Love Mother." Elijah couldn't help but smile at the note. He then folded it and stuck it in his pocket. Elijah opened the door and walked out dragging the door behind him so that it shut. Elijah walked too the front of the house and looked back. He was going too miss his home but he would be back. Elijah continued on walking to the bus stop. Elijah was glad that it wasn't to bright out yet but either way it wouldn't affect him. Elijah was close enough to the bus stop, too where he could see a few other people and they appeared to also be wearing the Yokai school uniform. Elijah walked past a rose bush to which he stopped and stared at it for a minute. He reached out to grab one of the roses with his right hands. Elijah had forgotten that roses have sharp thorns, just has he grabbed around it. A few other the thorns had pierced his skin drawing some blood. Elijah still wanted the rose, so he set down the suitcase, and held the rose gently with his right hand and with his left he started applying some pressure so that it would snap. After doing this a little while the rose finally gave way and broke. Elijah grinned in delight. For some reason Elijah loved Roses. He stuck the rose on top of his ear for the time being. He then picked up his suitcase and continued walking too the bus stop. He saw there were three people there two girls and a guy.
'Looks like nobody knows each other here.' Elijah thought. He walked so that he was under the cover of the bus stop. He set his suitcase down on the bench. He lifted his right hand up too see that he still had some blood on it. Elijah didn't care if anybody watched him. He stuck out his tongue and licked off the blood that was on his hand, by now his wounds were sealed. He then took off his backpack and sat on the bench. Once seated he looked around at the other people. Elijah wondered what species they were. But since it was against school rules to ask so he didn't. Elijah figured he could introduce himself, but that would involve him to initiate conversion which was something Elijah found difficult.

His sensitive hearing betrayed the stepping of a girl, judging by the speed of the footsteps, nearby. Joshua looked to the left of him where the girl had decided to stand far away from him. He shrugged if she did not want to say hello that was not his problem. Strange chicks are usually always on about the meet and hello stuff. Eh not his place to push into her business...at least not yet at least. He yawned and a short time later another chick came up to the right and he then sniffed the air and looked to the right and he grinned to himself. No god damn way...hahahahah... Joshua thought to himself as he shook his head. Unless this chick was some sort of dog demon she was a werewolf like himself. He could smell it but he was not sure if she could he was covered in the smell of his breakfast and a lot of soap because his aunt had always insisted he wash behind his ears...three times...It sucked but he was getting side tracked AGAIN! Damn it all to hell why did things always have to be so complicated! He ended up deciding to do his favorite activity NOTHING. He simply smiled and adjusted his position a little before the next person came up, which he was glad about it since he was wondering if he was accepted into a chick's school! He looked at the guy for a brief second before he turned away and not a short time later the kid ended up sitting down next to him in the three seat bus stop area. He looked down at the kid, smelling blood was something a werewolf was particularly good at so he was not surprised when he saw the kid sucking on his thumb. He figured he tripped or something so he figured he'd try to make a friend...hopefully...then again he was enough of a boss to take care of himself because that's simply how he rolled..."Hey there bro what's up? Name's Josh....Joshua Jackson in full." Joshua said casually as he sat up somewhat straighter.

Setsuko just couldn't sleep, she was way too nervous about the next day. So she decided to read one of her favorite books. She didn't get really far because she still kept worrying about this strange new place she was going to. This was the first time she would leave the land of the Yuki-Onna with it's protective barrier and everlasting winter. But out of all the things she worried one question kept popping up: "Will I be able to make some friends there?". And it was with this question that she finally fell asleep.

She woke up to the sound of her mother yelling that breakfast was ready. She got out of bed an as always tripped on her first step and fell down. This happened so much that she had placed a think carpet around her bed to make the landing softer. When she got to the kitchen her mom was sitting at the table waiting for her. "My little girl is finally growing up and leaving the house huh." Setsuko was taken aback by this as it was her mother that made her go to this Yokai school. "I really hope you will be alright there and you know that you can always write to me when there are problems." Setsuko just ate in silence and then left the table to put on her uniform and check that everything was packed.
She put on the uniform, but when she looked in the mirror she felt something was missing and she knew what it was. She took her favorite yellow scarf that instead of keeping her warm kept her cold. Now being fully dressed she went over everything she would take with her. She had all of the basic stuff packed already (with some help of her mom to actually get it inside the case) and some of her favorite books were in it too. She almost forgot to bring her ice lollipops to keep herself cold when it got too warm. When she saw she had everything she went downstairs to leave for the bus stop and of course her mom was waiting at the door. "Oh I'm going to miss you sweetie," she said as she pulled Setsuko in a hug. "I know mom, I'll miss you too" Setsuko said as she returned the hug.

She left her house with her mom waving her off. It was a long walk to the bus stop as it was located a good end away from the city. She was lucky that the weather was calm today or she may have gotten lost on the way through the forest.
When she finally got to the bus stop she saw that there were already 4 people there. The two guys sitting next to each other seemed to be talking. One girl was sitting on the other side of the bench and one one side of the bus stop the other girl stood.
Being as shy as Setsuko is she decided to just stand on the other side of the bus stop and just stay quiet.

Elijah looked over to were the other guy was sitting. The person sitting next to him had just introduced himself as Joshua. Elijah faced him and stuck out his hand that had been cut.
"Nothing much. You? I'm Elijah Wilson." Elijah said he let out a small smile which showed his vampiric canines. Elijah wondered what the two girls names were, but if they didn't want to introduce themselves or talk then it was fine. Elijah looked upwards toward the sun. "It's going to be a bright day." Elijah said. Elijah then put his hand back down. Elijah then took the rose off of his ear and started looking at it, examining each part of it as if it was something new. Elijah was slightly worried what it would be like at the new school, it would be the first time he was in a school with other yokai. Elijah didn't know how they would react with him, he was also worried that they might not like him due to him being a purebred yokai and a S-class yokai. Elijah brushed it aside and figured that he would just accept what would come.

Alex was carefully examining the people around her, including newly arrivals which just made her even more rigid. The one boy on the bench smelled heavily of breakfast and some soup. But the wet dog smell was slightly here, a bit of a curse for canine species of any kind. She guessed he was either some dog demon or a werewolf. She did not care for this though, she wasn't sure where he was from and she knew werewolves could be dangerous, territorial, and wanting to be the big dog around. Especially males, but she turned her gaze to the others, not really able to simply guess what they were. Though that other boy smelled of blood.... it made her scowl inwardly.

Twitching her ears she glanced to the two females, one seemed pretty shy the other just distant. Alex could only silently grunt as she crossed her arms. This was going to be a long trip indeed.

Joshua looked at the boy questioningly at the sadistic smile of his which already creeped him out and he wondered what type of thing this guy was...he certainly was a creepy mother-"Riiiiiggghhht.....Now then I don't think the dentist makes you carve your teeth into fangs boss careful where you show those at. And as you can see I'm waiting for the same bus, hopefully, as you and as for the sun..." Joshua looked up covering his eyes with is hands before squinting and muttering about the brightness of Japan. "It is really bright I'll give you that unless you have a phobia of sun light I think you'll be fine Elijah...mind if I call you Eli for short? Anyways are you new to the school? I am myself first year fresh man! Oh...that is going to be fun to deal with..." Joshua said thinking about the seniors and how the humans were said to love pranking the new kids...he shivered and then laughed that wouldn't happen he'd kick their asses first. "What do you think girl think the seniors will try to prank us?" he said to the blue haired moe looking girl nearby who had decided stand on the outside of the bus stop.

Setsuko was startled that actually talked to her and asked her for her opinion. She didn't know what to do. " What to do, pretend I didn't hear him? No that would just seem rude, but I don't know what to say," she was thinking while panicking, "ok, ok just calm down and just respond normally." "I-i don't know i-if they would p-prank us," Setsuko stuttered. "It's no use, I'm too nervous," she was thinking again," I dunno what to do, nobody outside of my mom ever took interest in what I thought about something. Ah no he's giving me a strange look, did I do something wrong, oh no I better apologize quick." "Sorry I-I'm a little bit n-nervous today," she said while turning her head away in embarrassment hiding her lower face behind her scarf. "Huu maybe I should just stay quiet and say nothing. That would be for the best," Setsuko was mentally scolding herself.
