Rekindling a Love: (Of RP-ing)
So I used to roleplay a few years back and liked it. Then life got in the way, and I've changed a lot personally, and I would like to get back into a story to stimulate my mind, get some creative juices flowing, and see how my personal life changes affect my writing.
More recently, I've become sort of obsessed with Phantom of the Opera but it got on my nerves that the ugly guy had to be evil, and hell, even when the "ugly" protagonist was a great, talented guy, (Hunchback of Notre Dame) he still didn't get the girl. So I would like to do a version of one of those stories the way I would have written it, with a happier ending and such.
I usually write fantasy or sci-fi. I will do slice-of-life/modern if there is a fantasy/sci-fi twist. For instance, I once combined a "typical highschool rp" with a sci-fi Gattaca-like setting, and it worked out pretty well.
So, in short.
List of Ideas (All works mentioned are just starting points, I'm too lazy to properly stick to a fandom so I avoid using them and just take ideas.)
- Phantom of the Opera*
- Hunchback of Notre Dame*
*Note: For years I've wondered what those would be like in a sci-fi setting instead of 15th or 19th century respectively. But either setting works, or a new one is fine too.
- Dystopian Fiction: (i.e. 1984, Gattaca, Brave New World, Hunger Games)
- Master x Slave/servant
- Insane asylum
- Space Traders/Smugglers (Firefly-style)
- Government school for "gifted" children/teens that turns out to be evil
If you have any other even mildly related ideas, please let me know and I will at least consider them.
I have decent grammar, but I do make mistakes. Furthermore, I would like to give/receive between 1-3 paragraphs per post.
