D.O.C.T. : Digital Omniversal Combat Tournament - Interest Check
Story? Not yet, maybe later XD
For now, all you need to know, is that our characters will be avatars within a digital world that we will be using for a little Tournament, nothin to complex, I'll design a few arenas for the fighting to take place in, and set up a little 'reason' for everyone to be beating the ever loving crap out of eachother XD but otherwise not much detail will be needed this time.
I will say this though, while This tournament is going on I'll be designing a continuation RP for after it's over, It'll basically be the story-ish RP involving the world the game is in, rather than just random Beating the shit out of eachother. The events of the tournament will have an effect later, if you stick around for the 'next RP' then you can expect some bonuses to be given based on performance in the tournament as well as having participated at all xD
Also, after each round the winning characters can choose to add 2 things to their characters from any of the following, 1 rank up on a Stat, 1 new Trait, 1 new power of up to Rank C, 2 Rank point increase on an already existant skill, or Rank up an A rank skill to an S Rank skill.
I don't have any hard rules myself aside form the obvious normal rules for Casual RP, so no 'free RP 1-2 liners here', and if you join make sure you won't drop out just randomly because it slows down some. We may have slow times, that can be expected, but please be patient when it does.
Also, While I won't 'drop' you for taking too long to post, If you don't post within 2 days, don't warn us that you'll be gone, or don't have a sifficient explanation after coming back within a week, You're opponent will be permitted to beat you senseless, though they can't 'quick win' unless you stay gone for another 2 days, but if you can come back within a week and properly explain the sudden absence, then, unless it's particular issue of butt hurt for someone, we can rewind to the middle of the fight and progress from there.
I will also organize each fight into different Threads for each pairing, or multi pairing if we happen to end up with 'team fights' being included.
Lastly, I have nothing 'against' Free RPers, But I want those participating to at least be able to post 'one' functional Paragraph, I mean if a scene is mostly dialogue, then I can understand shorter posts, though that won't be very common, especially in a fight. ALSO, You can just Collaborate any 2 or 3 character conversations using an Internet PAD site of google docs or even PMs and just give everyone credit when it's posted.
Classes: Are not necesarily a rigid restriction on what your character can do, so much as a simple classification of their special or 'theme'. Feel free to submit your own class types, but to save time 'just in case', pm the suggestion to a GM to get it okayed first before completing a CS that may be heavily based on the class of the character, but still, those below won't be ALL you can choose from, I'm pretty lenient in terms to making shit up XD
Note: Try to specify you're class specialty with something like Spell Caster - Fire, or fancify it as Fire-caster, or Warrior - Spear, or Spearman.
Fighter: Fairly simply, this classification suits characters who mainly fight using just their own body instead of special equipment like a sword of some sort of gun. A note though, while being specialized in unarmed combat, they most often still have some form of magical or elemental abilities in their repetoire, most are short ranged, defensive, or melee types though.a
Spell caster: This is so obvious XD or maybe not. Now, 'spellcaster' does NOT meant completely incapable in melee combat, Spell casters are plenty allowed to be nimble an acrobatic, capable of 'defending' themselves head on, but their skill in that sense can't match that of specialized classes in those features.
Warrior: Weapon specialists, as usual unique abilities can be used of course, Warrior's main difference is that they specialize with some form of weapon in particular.
Animalistic: a perhaps more unique variety of class, reffering to character's who's abilities imply either animal enhancements, or animal themed abilities, whether it's a 'guy in a costume' [wierd as that may be sometimes >.>], or someone of actual inhuman quality. Note: 'animalistic' class is not required to use a character that isn't human XD
Morphological: This class often reffers to characters who's bodies are made of some form of liquid, goo men are common, as well as liquid creatures. It could also refer to someone who's 'abilities' or 'attacks' involve rapid short or long term transformations.
Mechanical: This refers obviously to characters who are of a mechanical nature, or perhaps who use mechanical devices more than anything else in combat.
Ghostly: Important thing to know, this doesn't mean that you would be invincible by turning intangible XD It just reffers to characters who's specialty involve ghostly, phantasmal, or even just spookey [fear based] abilities.
Mythic: For characters mostly focused on theme or abilities of some or a mythological creature.
CS: I will of course provide an example CS... In the morning When I'm no longer tired as hell ^.^
Race: for unique breeds and such.
Player Status: Normal, Guardian, Staff, Game Master, Programmer, Hacker, Counter-Hacker [Most are self explanatory xD, Guardians are basically normal players, but are considered to be sorta like 'citizen police', being that they have been trusted with some authority, the lowest of course, to enforce rules. As you can guess a 'hacker' is someone using illegal methods to play the game, they generally have advantages over other characters, though will also likely have MANY enemies and frequently get ganged up on as well as hounded by Security players, Though the hackers protection from 'justice', so to speak, depends on their level of skills or perhaps on help they might have. Counter hackers are of course, Company endorsed Players with known hacking skills, trusted and even paid 'not' to use them except in the event of encountering another hacker to ensure the defeat of said hacker.]
Height: These will actually be useful information
Weight: And tend to play a part in how your character may react to certain impacts, or perhaps to your own attacks.
Stats: Stats will be rated between D and S, I'm open minded, but be reasonable, no 'gnomes' with S rank strength 'just cause' XD if a really small character had that kind of strength then punching someone would likely end up knocking themselves back too XD
Health: Not a 'specific' ammount of how much damage you can take, but represents generally the survivability of your character.
Energy: Similar to health it is not rigid, but an example of how easily you can recover from using special attacks. This of it as a quick fill mana bar, you don't need potions or anything, but after using attacks that are heavy enuogh in energy cost, it may take a few seconds or more to recover unless you have like, S rank energy.
Offense: This refers to overall offensive ability, not specifically magic or physical, but you can be specific if you like.
Defense: Similar to above, but for the ability to resist damage.
Agility: Character mobility and such XD Keep in mind, having S rank agility may not necisarily mean that you are 'ninja fast and can't be hit', it just means you'll have greater agility tha someone with less. It may be speed, may be flexibility, be as specific as 'you' like.
Traits: Could be considered 'powers' in a way, but are reffering to things permanently in effect on your character. I'd say we should have 2 starting off.
Power Set Name: You can call your powerset whatever you want, but it should fit the theme of your powers or character, for instance, there won't be any 'Holy power' that deals soley in fire damage XD
Powers will also be ranked F to S, and to make things clear, S rank doesn't necisarily mean an extremely powerful attack, it could be a fairly basic ability that was upgraded to have exceedingly low energy cost, thus making it very spammable, for example.
For Powers there should be '4' starting off.
You can explain your powers however you like, but a bit of information 'must' be included, in the form as below.
Energy Weight: Reffering to how Energy costly it will be
Element: If any
Type: Unarmed, Weapon, Ranged, Spell, Internal, and so on
Description: what it is capable of. Of course keep in mind, while a skill made 'do' a specific thing, that thing may not be the only possible use for it, for instance, a solid shield being formed by something, of course can also be thrown once no longer needed.
OTHER: Currently I considered background and personality sections to be moot, you can include if you want =3 but their not required for 'this' RP, since more or less we'll just be bludgeoning eachother XD
Well, I couldn't sleep well enough yet XD so I went ahead and made an Example CS XD Keep in mind this one is a 'counter hacker', he has 2 extra abilities of a 'hack' level, which will only be useable if he engaged by another person using hacking abilities. they are 'meant' to be OP, because they won't be used, and are GM endorsed.
Name: Tali Vas Matil
Species: Feline Kami
Class: Shadow Caster
Player Status: Counter-Hacker
Floater: He can 'float' at will, which includes avoiding touching the ground, avoiding fall damage, making himself behaves 'weightless' to a degree. Note: While floating, melee attacks don't have any reduction in momentum transferred, he own't have much momentum behind any physical attack he uses, and will generally be sent flying to a degree whenever struck by sufficiently powerful attacks.
Note: He can avoid 'ground traps' using this as well, but only those requiring contact, Things such as a 'motion sensor trigger' would still be set off by him.
'Immortal': Not in the literal 'unKillable' sense, but in the sense that 'death magic' and similar things like necromancy, or those that forcibly affect/drain soul energy or life force, won't affect him as much, as well he 'recovers' more quickly when not taking damage.
Description: quite simply this one launches a spray of shadowy pellets, not especially accurate or powerful, but a nice distraction, and can still be substantial if used 'in close' or when an opponent is caught of guard.
Name: Shadow Buster
Energy Weight: High
Description: This power collects a mass of shadow that is propelled at an opponent, Carrying vast impact power behind it, capable of breaking shields, guards, and blocks, of it's own Rank and below, It can 'weaken' a defense of Rank B, Though that can be recovered quickly, and higher Ranks will be able to shrug it off. Note: When breaking a defense, If it is of equal rank, no actual serious damage is imparted, though considerable impact with general knock the target off balance and leave an opening unless they have some secondary ability to avoid this.
Name: Shadow Port
Energy Weight: Fair
Description: This power allows him to rapidly 'port' from one point to another, the effect is instant and the range is fair, but the energy cost increases with each successive use in a short ammount of time, 3 uses will Fully Deplete energy and leave him vulnerable.
Name: Umbran Ambush
Energy Weight: Extreme
Description: This Ability acts as a 'mode' of sorts, Lasting for approximately 10 seconds when used. It allows him to 'move into shadow' in the sense of fading out of existence, most likely into the ground, and producing shadow spikes to attack an enemy target numerous times in that time period, as well as produce 'himself' from an ambush point instead of a spike. During this short time he can use empowered versions of other abilities 'if their costs are fair or below' without penalty.
When it wears out he will take time to fully regenerate his energy supply before being able to use any other Powers.
Counter-Hacker Skills: Only usable 'legally' Against hackers, Can be utilized in non-official fights however as rules don't expressly prohibit it then, but the fights also are not 'important' usually.
Name: Shadow Bombardment
Energy Weight: Spammable
Type: Ranged, Medium Homing
Description: This Counter Hacker Ability Releases a spray of Shadowy beams of energy, they will arc and twist to attempt ensuring a hit on someone who has used hacking skills. The beams are encoded with the ability to disrupt the 'specific' hacking targets energy supply and disable their Hacker skills for a while as well as causing moderate damage.
Name: Umbra Geddon
Energy Weight: Extreme
Type: Area, Ranged
Description: This is the type of ability that can get you banned for using unless it's 'for fun' or against an offending hacker... or really needed.
This spreads a huge area of shadow around the user, Producing Numerous Tendrils from the ground that will rise up and attempt to swarm the target, as well as protect the caster, some will strike at them, some may launch shadow spells, most will attempt to constrict them and pull them down through the ground before leaving them burried and helpless until a proper GM arrived to deal with their hacking infractions.

Race: Fire breed
Class: Drake (a mix of fighter and spellcaster and morpher I'll explain later)
Player Status: anti-hacker
Weight: without armor 130 lbs with 240 lbs
imagine a lighter version of this. Less bulky and more tight to the body, smaller cape
Energy Weight: C or more based on amount of fire
Description: emits fire from the hands which can be used to hit and burn a target or catch punches. Fire can grow if need be for stronger opponents.
Energy Weight: A up to S
Type: armed or ranged
description: Creates lances made of fire which can be used as melee weapons or thrown to create a burst of fire. Not so much an explosion but a quick spread in the shape of a circle. If hit directly can severely burn target if missed the ground within a three yard diameter becomes hot ember. Not a spell meant to be used for long periods of time.
Energy Weight: A
description: Wings of fire grow from the back of the caster giving a boost to speed and ability for burst of flight. Emits an entity of heat which can singe whatever enters it. Meant for quickly catching an opponent and letting them burn as you hold them.
Energy weight: C
description: Burns a rune into the hand of the caster and their target. Allows target to become much more powerful but the rate their energy drains increases dramatically. Also if used right if the target can not hold their extra energy it make leak out into nearby entities such as the caster.
Energy Weight: SS
Type: Shape shift
description: Morphs into a large raging dragon, need I say more?
Name: Blaze Angel+ aka Armageddon
Energy Weight: SSS (likely kill caster)
description: A much more powerful version of the blaze angel. This engulfs the caster in flames to the point they become it. The wings are larger and the speed even greater. This is a last resort power that will nearly guarantee the death of the caster and target.

may I make a suggestion for hacker and anti hacker penalties as they would be needed to keep everyone from picking them...Foresaken circle: Created by anti-hackers to be used against the hacker. This makes the match a to the death fight. Whomever is defeated in the circle will be rendered incapable of revival for several hours. This gives time for the hackers account to be found and dealt with or if the hacker wins, gives him time to go without the bother of an anti-hacker
