Sleepwalkers and Nightmares: The Truth

Alrighty! This RP is about Sleepwalkers, Nightmares, and normal humans. Sleepwalkers and Nightmares are humans that have an unusual connection to the Dream Realm. Sleepwalkers protect people from dying in their sleep while Nightmares purposefully try to kill them--you read the link, right? The RP will also be about finding out who the Nightmares really are, how they are created--like if they're just rogue Sleepwalkers or what. I want activity outside of the Dream Realm. Any ideas on that? XD I'd hate to make it some random High School deal, so give me ideas?


Fill out a character sheet, and I'll approve as I see fit. I want there to be a balance, but you know, that might be hard. You may have to switch sides, just a heads up. Also, it's very modern day, keep that in mind.

Name: Raine Starling

Age: 20

Personality: Raine is a very bubbly person and you'll hardly ever see her sad. She definately not afriad to speak her mind, which often got her into a lot of trouble when she was younger but she matured, somewhat, with age. She is also very bold and likes to dares but isn't stupid either with it.

Bio: Raine was born to Mr. And Mrs. Starling, who immediately knew that there was something different about their daughter. Who else picks fights with kids twice their age and almost always wins? Just kidding, but to stop that problem, they locked her in a dark closet for a few hours when she was three, hoping that it would straightened her out. Cruel huh? But it worked...untill she hit middle school. Despite her tendency to be violent towards 'mean people', she'd always managed to keep good grades, even throughout highschool. Now, she is in college working on her bachelor's degree.

Fears & Hopes: Raine has always been afraid of the dark since she was little. She just can't stand the way her imagination goes wild and freaky with the dark and tends to create something that will always scare the hell out of her. Fortunately, she has been able to tolerate it more and can sleep as long as the bathroom light in her room is on. Another thing she's afraid of is being alone; she can't even stand to be in the house alone for more than three hours, especially if it's dark. As far as hopes, she hopes to overcome both of her fears, finish school, and find someone who truly loves her for her.

Name: Michael Ross

Age: 38

Personality: A basic nice guy who got along with most folks… before. Now he’s mistrusting and pessimistic.

Bio: Mike had always dabbled with dreamwalking unknowingly, he had thought it was just another dream that he could manipulate to his whim, until he met his wife. His wife (Sharon), who was a Sleepwalker as well, had opened his eyes to an entire new realm. However, he lost her to a car accident, and a few years later he lost his son to a nightmare. Now Mike only exists to sleep, so he can be with his family at least in his dreams.

Fears/Hopes: Mike fears that he will fall in love and lose those that he loves all over again. Mike doesn’t realize it yet, but he hopes to find love again.

Status: To most he is a Sleepwalker, to others he is a nightmare

Name: Levana Costta (Or Na for short)
Age: 23
Personality: Levana is a sweet, courteous, happy-go-lucky girl who wouldn't hurt a fly. While she is extremely loyal to loved ones and would defend them in an instant, she tries to avoid unnecessary conflict. She values all life, something that she also protects and cultivates as best she can. Na also loves a good story, whether it's told through film, song, or the written word. She loves to adventure.
Bio: Levana was raised in a nice neighborhood by loving parents. She had a happy, normal childhood, which she found quite boring (especially compared to the lives of greatness she'd heard and read about). Therefore, despite her parents' wishes, Levana decided to travel the world after high shool instead of attending college. She worked odd jobs as she went to pay her way. Eventually (while staying in a hostel in Romania), she discovered her ability to enter and roam the dreams of others as she pleased. She knows absolutely nothing about this ability, but has kept it a close secret and vowed to use it for some sort of good.
Fears/hopes: Levana is very afraid of failure. She always achieved good grades and was successful at her chosen extracurricular activities. Instead of causing her to develop a cocky attitude, this successfulness caused her to develop an extreme fear of letting anyone down or failing in anyway. She does hope, though, to continue traveling far and wide, helping others in whatever way possible and leaving her mark on the world.

Sorry about all the watermarks on that.... Anyway, she's slim, and about 5'5". She usually wears jeans and a t-shirt or tank top, and carries a back pack with all of her belongings. She may also wear aviator sunglasses or a bandana in her hair.


Also, quick question: how are all of our characters going to become connected? ...Wait, you were trying to figure that out before, weren't you? Hm. Maybe there's an anonymous ad in the paper, basically saying that if you're a Dreamwalker (without really saying that; maybe just a description of the "symptoms" per say), then come to this address and then ery one will see it and that's how they'll meet up. Or something. Is that silly? I dunno. Sorry ^.^"

Name: Jivusa Cyrus, his nickname is Azrael, the Angel of Death.

Age: 19

Personality: Dark, secluded, pessimistic, etc.

Bio: Jivusa is a normal person to a human's eye. But to a Sleepwalker, he's the most powerful Nightmare to walk the Dream Realm. He has been a major threat to the Sleepwalkers ever since he was a small kid, when he first found out about his powers. He was weak then, so a Nightmare took him under his wing and taught him. When he became strong enough, he started getting faster at dragging humans down. And eventually, he killed his master in the Dream Realm. In the human world, he was only 19, or so he looked the part. He never had any friends, his parents hated him, he's never been able to talk to anyone, so he is sometimes called a mute, but he can talk just fine. He hates most things, but gets joy by dragging people down. He's done it for his own personal gain, or to find a Sleepwalker and kill them along with the human he was about to drag down. He's had several experiences where more than one Sleepwalker has tried to stop him, but he was too strong for them. He took on a persona and changed his name to Azrael and always wore a hooded duster coat and a skull mask, even when outside the Dream Realm. He wanted the Sleepwalkers to find him in the real world. He could take them just as easily in the real world as in the Dream Realm.

Fears/Hopes: He never was afraid, and doesn't care about what happens, as long as he was the strongest.

Status: Head Nightmare, Angel of Death

Shiloh Reinhart

Age: 19

Born from a broken family, Shiloh knew no other relative than her grandmother Rose. Her father had died in war, mother passed away shortly after her birth, and her grandfather... well let's just say he disappeared. Rose had taken care of her abandoned grandchild ever since, not to mention her one and only grandchild at that.

Since the day of her birth, Shiloh had never been one to talk. As a toddler she was quite a pleasant child, going about her grandmother's home with a stray cat that had grown a liking to her. Not even Rose knew where she'd picked up the feline, but decided not to get rid of it since it was good company for Shiloh. Though Shiloh rarely uttered a word, her body would instinctively give hints to her thoughts and needs. When she was hungry, her stomach would let out a soft growl, when angry or upset, her brows would furrow into a distinctive curl. Rose never bothered to force the child to speak, but took a liking to figuring out what Shiloh wanted. It was almost like a game for the elderly lady. Looking for clues in Shiloh's facial expression, or catching slight body movement.

As Shiloh grew older, the more confidence she began to gain. Not much, but more than when she was just a small child. She grew fond of her grandmother's vintage clothing and wore them often. School was quite a big hurdle for her since she was required to and sometimes pressured into using her words to communicate and to socialize with her fellow classmates. Communicating through jumbled muttering and inaudible whispering was how she got through elementary, but don't me wrong, she was intelligent and a bright student, speaking on the other hand... just isn't her best skill. Since she lacked such a valuable skill, making friends wasn't the easiest thing for her, but let me tell you, Shiloh had one of the most charming smiles on the face of the earth. Though rare, it's enough to make any person crumble up and die from too much innocence and let's not miss those two killer dimples on both her cheeks! This smile of hers earned her one companion for sure, her cat Lucious (loo-sh-us)!

Now into her teenage years, she was determined to improve her communication and socializing skills through tough and disciplined practice. Rose was baffled when Shiloh managed to actually mumble out an entire sentence at a decent volume. As of now she can speak in a soft voice, but only talks when spoken to or when she feels the need to say something.

Fears:Being pressured into speaking, getting up in front of crowds, darkness
Hopes:To talk easily like everyone else someday, own a Cat rescue Shelter (lol just for the hell of it xP), repay her grandmother in someway
