Personally, I kind of find existentialism to be comforting in a way. The religious guidelines and expectations I grew up with felt more like shackles than a comfort. The idea that nothing really matters makes me feel free. Free to make my own choices and decisions, to create my own meaning and significance, to accomplish what I feel is important to accomplish.
