To whom it may concern,


I, Head Master Vladimir Socratic, am pleased to notify you of your acceptance to The Academy of Vendace Halls. Before I enlighten you as to why you will be attending this school there are a few things that I’ll need to shed light on for your sake.

As you know The Academy of Vendace Halls is a school for the supreme. We only accept those who we believe can endure our academy. The enrolment of every student is not without reason; every student has their place and it is up to them to discover it. I hope you discover yours.

My school’s reputation subsists between non-existent to only an occult following. I need to state that whatever you have heard about in regards to my school is merely rumours. My students are sworn to secrecy the moment they step foot through my doors, thus any horrendous rumour you have heard is not true.

Due to your high achievements and excelled skills we have put forth your enrolment without denial. Over the years your skills and attributes have been observed very closely and it is to my great pleasure that I now enrol you into my academy. You sustain the capabilities to graduate and I hope you use them well enough to do so. As a student not only will you engage in customary learning but in addition activities/classes that will strengthen your core species, whatever that may be. Should you ‘carry on’ graduating, your abilities will be at their peak which can only be achieved through attendance of The Academy of Vendace Halls.
Semester 1 starts the 1st September. The delayed will not be tolerated.

Graduating from The Academy of Vendace Halls is not an easy task. The test is not taken lightly and those who do not pass, do not survive.

Throughout the terms, different tests will be put forward, tests which will test you physically and mentally. These tests aren't as simple as handing out an assignment, they could be as subtle as your teacher reminding you of a friends absense, other times, you don't have any help at all with figuring out what the next assessment is. It is a group effort; however, in the past, because of racial pride, many have lost their lives in attempt to complete these tests.

If you want a different race, not specified, PM myself or SweetCinderella and we will let you know if we approve or disapprove.

Try not to speed post, we know you’re keen to keep it running and want to continue with the interaction your characters are having; however, too many times have we've seen it kill RP’s. Please try to take other’s absence in consideration while you’re posing. We don’t want to come back to fifteen pages of crap to read.

As you read above, swearing is accepted, just not in every second word.

When we say no god-modding, we mean don’t make them good at EVERYTHING.

If you disappear or drop out for no reason, your character will be subject to observing the schools statue – in which it will be possessed by the demon of the statue and sacrificed to the demon’s collection of souls.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE! We don’t expect you to go English teacher style on your writing, but at least have the sense to use basic grammar; if you cross the line between Casual and Free Riddle might actually kill herself with the screen of her laptop.

NO ONE LINERS! We know in the middle of a conversation it can be hard to write a full fledged post, but we're sure you can muster at least five lines.

Keep it interesting, although SweetCinderella and I the GM’s of this roleplay, we’re not keeping you on a strict leash; we’re always up for new ideas for the plot and new arcs inbetween.

In saying that, we don’t want that to start arguments and hostility between you and other writers. Please no fighting in the OOC. If we come back to twenty pages of arguments, your character will be sent to a Demon named Marlo’, who will eat you. Not before he screams in your face and kicks you a bit.

If you do have a problem with someone, please PM either myself or Sweet Cinderella before making a scene in the OOC. Sometimes it’s easily sorted out.

Warn about absences and such.

If we say something, reject a character or anything; don’t take it personally, we have a valid reason and we will give you that valid reason. I’m normally pretty laid back with that sort of stuff – the most I’ll do is ask you to change one small aspect.

BE CREATIVE! We don’t want all characters the same.

Much has been said of this area’s beauty; however, there is a reason not many visit this place.

The Academy of Vendace Halls exists as a sanctuary to a vast array of fabled creatures; each living either harmoniously or maliciously alongside each other. Just as darkness has the enemy of light, some species loath each other and are sworn rivals. Whilst some stand as a mere waste of existence, not worth the reverence or camaraderie of their peers; others exist to live in unison, parallel to one another.

Angels are divine creatures, warriors of the light. Just like demons they are not as affected by the darkness because they are a part of the darkness. Did you ever wonder if demon was once an angel, then what must a creature like that be like? They are kind creatures, which is evident through their healing powers but sustain a dark, cruel side. They are the original evil, thus upsetting an angel is far more troublesome then upsetting a demon. They do not kill or harm without purpose. Most female angels do not kill at all as it is frowned upon. The purer the angel the more difficult it is to corrupt. An example of this is if a corrupted entity were to try and possess a pure angel the task would be proved difficult and the entity would ultimately fail. Thus they can survive under conditions when others normally could not. Angels, like demons, are the strongest in terms of power, since they can manipulate the elements. When an angel has mastered all four elements they can then call forward ‘the light’ in order to manipulate it as they see fit. One of the grants of The Light allows for them to heal and bring things back to life.

Demons, like their counterparts, are divine creatures. In the food chain they are on the same level as angels since they are almost the same being. Demons are warriors of the darkness and unlike angels who simply have ‘a sinister side’ they are sinister/evil all the time. Demons embrace the darkness in ways that angels do not. They kill when they feel like it; they steal, cheat and lie. Unlike angels, demons are heavily affected by the opposite; light. If a demon has not has its first kill by the age of 6, it is frowned upon. Demons sustain the ability to also survive under circumstance in which most others would not. Demons, like angels, are the strongest in terms of power, since they can manipulate the elements. When an angel has mastered all four elements they can then call forward ‘the darkness’ in order to manipulate it as they see fit. One of the grants of The Darkness allows for demons to control things that are dead.

Witches came about as Lucifers way of granting mortals with supernatural gifts all for his personal gain. Thus some have come to believe that possessing the power of witchcraft is more of a curse as you are bound to follow Lucifer. The term ‘white witch/warlock’ does not exist because in the end everything a witch/warlock does, whether it be good or evil, excels Lucifers gains. There exist more witches than warlocks as it is believed that females are the weaker sex and thus more easily tempted by the devil. The most obvious characteristic of a witch/warlock is the ability to cast spells. A spell consists of a set of words, formula or verse, or a ritual action, or any combination of these in order to carry out a magical action. The belief is that by saying the words and/or performing the actions it delivers the ‘gain’ to Lucifer.

There is an old tale of a witch placing a curse on a warlock who loved the sea. The warlock tried to drown the witch for reasons unknown. However the witch did not drown as she was saved by a mermaid. The mermaid told the witch of an old sea curse that was sealed away. For years the witch hunted down everything she could on this curse and one day she went back to the warlock for revenge. She drowned him with the help of the mermaid. What follows is unknown, but when the warlock awoke the next day he was not what he once was. He was still in a humanoid form however his skin was purplish blue and covered in mucus. The worst part about his appearance was his head was that of an octopus with four tentacles around a lamprey-like mouth. The warlock soon discovered that his powers had changed as had his diet and senses. His sense of hearing had diminished but his eyesight increased being able to see in the dark. His powers had changed. He was no longer the warlock he once was who could manipulate spells. Instead the sea played a crucial part in everything he did. The extent of his powers has yet to be documented. The mermaid having felt guilty for what she had aided in attempted to wash away her guilt by luring the warlock to her by means of his new diet. It is said that the warlock disappeared in the ocean.

Werewolves are legendary creatures who came to be by the ones above in a bid to exterminate the infestation of vampires which overruled long ago. Originally simple humans who were granted the ability to magically transform into wolves or a hybrid wolf-like creature, they lowered the numbers of the vampire race. In present time a mixture of born werewolves or people bitten exist, however the originally families that were granted with the ability were lost years ago. A werewolf’s strength exceeds that of all other races, whilst their speed can be matched. A werewolf learns to change by will, not by the moon that is simply folklore. In true fact that presence of the moon depicts the rate of their healing – the bigger the moon, the quicker they will heal. They cannot be killed with any ordinary weapon, silver is the only weapon. They must be forced back into human form if one wishes to kill a werewolf. Rumours say that werewolves supposedly prowl the night, devouring babies and digging up corpses. Another rumour states that some werewolves become the things they hate the most after death, a vampire.

Varying from person to person; clan to clan, Shifters, depending on age, experience and talent, can shift in to animals, and on the rare occasion, they can take on different human like appearances. A Shifter will start with a human form, and from there, shift into a base form, which is more often an animal of some description. From that base form, be it a wolf, cat or bird – they may be able to shift into other animals. This is a hard ordeal, and can only be accomplished if the Shifter has enough experience and skill to be able to do so. If a Shifter attempts to shift into an animal they have not yet mastered, it will look strange, from an eagle to a frog; the frog may end up with a beak and sprout feathers as it tries to hop. Turning into a different human is the most difficult task for a Shifter; only the most experienced and skilled of Shifters can accomplish this – even then, the human will still look strange, not quite animal; however not quite human.

Different clans can be ranked in nobility, depending on what animal they can shift into; noble animals can be:

Large Serpent

Other clans are not as lucky with base shifts, and are looked down upon; these clans can take the forms of:

Ferret

Killing Shifters has proven a difficult task in the past; they are almost immortal in shift form; however, in human form, they can be killed in any way a mortal human can be killed. To kill a Shifter in animal form, they must first be forced back into their Human form. In order to accomplish this, one must first cut off the left hand of the Shifter and stab it in the heart with silver. This will force them into their original form; however, it heals them too. When a Shifter takes on its Human form, all wounds are healed; however, when forced back, they cannot shift for six hours after.

Sirens originated from the trickster race that is Faeries. In a bid to teach a lesson to those who mistreated their kind, Faeries crafted Sirens off their own blood. They granted Sirens with the ability to appeal and fascinate anyone they desire in order to lead them to their death. Sirens charmed others through the use of their voice and/or touch. In present time Sirens are of a much more sexual nature without the intent to kill or destroy. This is due to modern ideologies.

For generations, Mutant's have been more of a scientific species than anything; modified versions of a Human. However, in the last centuary, they have been achknowledged by the supernatural community and have been rather looked down upon by most. Despite their sometimes brilliant powers, most supernatural beings look down upon this leap in genetics; their limit to one power is the main cause for this, also their humanity.

Their power varies from telekenesis to pyrokenesis, from creating a cube of ice to deconstructing a car. Different Mutants have different powers. Killing them is like killing a normal Human; unless they have amazing healing abilities.

In the supernatural socitey, Vampires are classed in the bottom of the food chain. They may have hightened senses and amplified agility, allowing them super strength, super speed, razor sharp claws, night vision, extremely sensitive hearing and much more.

However, their weaknesses heavily outweigh their strengths. They are sensitive to objects such as garlic and holy objects; they are killed by sunlight and silver. Their skin is weak, and they are easily torn to shreds, they turn to ash when killed and do not need an invitation to enter.

Head Master Vladimir Socratic tolerates nothing below formality and excellence, with the exception of his pet students. Stringent in demeanour he stands not for the angst of teenagers and will discipline without compromise. These punishments deviate depending on the race and misdeed of the undergraduate. He may also take into account the nobility of an individual due to the influence they may retain beyond the school. Head Master Socratic does not fret about taking affairs into his own hands and, quite often, will drag a delinquent, kicking and screaming from the classroom. He more often than not is of no assistance should a student go to him with a dilemma. However, should a student be fortunate enough to be deemed a ‘pet’ than they will be subject to great deals of favouritism.

Savant. Sallos Purson

Born into nobility Savant. Sallos Purson ascended through the demon army at great speed. Sallos claimed the title of general at a young age. However, it was due to this adolescence, and thus lack of experience, that he invaded enemy territory too hastily. The result of such irresponsibility was permanent malformation. Nevertheless his appearance did not render him unable to perform his duties as a general and he became one of the most gallant and unsurpassed in the army. Upon his retirement Head Master Socratic offered him a position and Purson eagerly accepted. As a result of his background his classes revolve primarily around the history of wars and battles – a fascinating lesson. Stringent and stern, Sallos does not accept disrespect. Vastly chauvinistic, he expects males to excel physically whilst females to nurture. Due to his background Socratic has also granted Sallos the title as head of defence and protection.

Exceedingly abnormal, Savant Fleranse Ronove stands pompous as chief of Political Science. A warlock, mastered in all areas of spell craft, his heightened intellect renders him socially awkward. As one of the less threatening educators at Vendace Halls one observes that the majority of students adore Fleranse. He is more than willing to assist students should they approach him with a dilemma. However a large amount find his class rather complicated as he generally goes off topic or makes no sense when lecturing – though this is typically due to the student’s inability to understand his train of thought, not his inanity. He can often be found gazing in awe at floor and when inquired as to what he is doing, he’ll usually reply with something very strange.

One of utmost punctilious educators in the academy, Savant Oroiach Zagan excels students in their individual development of powers. Arrogant in his gifted abilities Oroiach possesses the power to manipulate ‘the dark’ to extraordinary measures – habitually in the manifestation of snakes. This demon shows no remorse or compassion in the training of his students and will push them to extreme lengths. Sustaining a great disdain for the fragility of existence and how it affects the living, it’s no wonder he pushes his students so vigorously . Due to his powerful talents he boasts a god complex and values himself greater than the headmaster. He sustains a fondness in the punishment of students - often described as twisted by a large number of them. Being insensitive to others misfortune he is of little help when it comes to the ‘student experience,’ having nil fascination in the battles started by others. Nevertheless Oroiach will instigate conflict so as to cease his monotony. Notorious for the fondness of exceptionally gifted students, Oroiach will express his favoritism in unsettling ways; much more hands on (?) with his pets.

Savant. Focalor Venock

A fallen angel, Savant. Focalor Venock lost his grace, poise, charm and beauty when he embraced ‘the darkness’. Being born an angel (the original evil) only to embrace demonic traditions Focalor develop into a sinister creature. Grasping the techniques of the stars and planets and how they affect powers, Savant. Venock is a master of astrology. Amplifying his own darkness by means of the star energy. Possessive over inanimate objects, it’s reasonably simple to win Focalor over. Obtaining support, one might say favouritism of this demon puts an individual at a great advantage as he does not like to see failure or surrender of his beloved pupils. To those he does not approve of he is pitiless, malicious and degrading. To the Head Master, Focalor conducts himself akin to a pet and Socratics regards him as such.

In command of the subject of divinisation is a tremendously influential siren, Savant. Vepar Avnas. Gushed over by the mass of female students Vepar has a tendency to caress both genders. Having ownership over a deep, sensual voice he has complete control over his ability to influence others. His assistance is frequently solitary to females given that they each have something to offer him. Even against the Head Masters command Vepar has seduced female students, purely because he can. Should an individual be immune/resistant to his allure he will stop at nothing to hypnotize them. He lives by the motto ‘love deeply and passionately – you might get hurt, but it’s the only way to live completely.’

A demented witch, Savant. Glasya Labolas lectures ‘the theory of power’. In possession of a shrill voice she bestows it on all but the Head Master. When attending her lesson it’s not uncommon for a student to feel ill at ease as her classroom has numerous shrines (?) dedicated to Head Master Socratic. She herself is under the impression that she’ll one day wed him and likes to make a commotion in regards to this delusion. Practised in rituals and potions, she is passionate about aiding individuals on issues with love. Despite her guise she is quite sugary and lovable, assisting students with anything she can.

Rosalina Bell Forveus

Rosalina Bell outshines in the elements of air and water; this therefore draws her closer to the power of light. She shines by means of curative charms; healing powers. Her physical abilities betray her; in consequence she situates herself in the posterior end of a battle, casting curative charms on injured allies. With sensitivity to the power of the mind, Rosalina has begun to dabble in the art of illusions and other psychic abilities. This strength however does not excel her curative charms by any means; nevertheless she is a fast learner and appears to be developing swiftly with her mind capabilities.
Personality:
Due to Rosalina Bell’s pure and untainted temperament, she exists as sickly sweet. Her delicate, high voice doesn’t vocalize unless necessary. She ascertains that she is a female, the frail gender, and that her position in being is submission to a male in which case he will offer protection. Although Rosalina does not deem everyone to be of equal value she does not act in a way that is demeaning, even when she is being belittled. She identifies and has faith in her own significance, thus does not believe she has to debate it with those clearly beneath her. When engaging in a hostile encounter, Rosalina, akin to a true angel, will attempt to bring accordance before battle. Should she fail, one finds that she will merely evade attacks until her enemy enervates and she can simply walk away; though this has been proven complex at times due to her benevolent nature. Should the fight be of a more intense nature she will play with the elements of air or water, given that she is too feeble to brawl physically.


Biography:
Born into aristocracy Rosalina glistens with purity. Since she was infantile Rosalina was edified in the ways of primeval and rather chauvinist behaviour and ideologies. She has been educated in the original traditions of the angels, predominantly due to her father being an adjudicator of the high court. Rosalina’s chauvinist behaviour is also profoundly influenced due to the lack of her mother who was exiled for heresy by her own husband. High Judge Romiel, Rosalina’s father, was obligated to banish his wife due to her immersed involvement in one of the holy wars. High Judge Romiel forbid even the slightest chance that Rosalina would trail her mother’s footprints and thus as soon as he banished his wife he set about educating his daughter as traditionally as possible. Before she received her letter of acceptance from Head Master Socratic she was inculcated to study under strict conditions. Should she not be studying, then she was standing next to her father in assemblies of the angels.

Christopher James Sayian

Most Used Power:
Complimentary to Christopher his physical capabilities serve him well; agile, strong and swift. These qualities grant him pride within himself. Upon drawing himself closer to mastering the elements that are earth and water, he has acquired the power to manipulate electromagnetic radiation – that is to say, Christopher captures the waves of energy flowing around him and manipulates their forms (as such, radio waves, micro waves, infrared waves & x-rays). Should he bring this power into play, one cannot stress enough the danger that besieges it. If Christopher is not cautious enough he can drain himself of all his magical energy, which would result with him, unintentionally tapping into his individual life force and exhausting himself of that also.
Personality:
Christopher’s pride, one could say his self-importance, stems from his physical qualifications. That is not to say he isn’t with his allures; he’s charming and exceedingly charismatic. Eccentric is a word that best describes his ways. He doesn’t have a tendency to waste time on formalities and official procedures. Pride in himself and his race is evident and respect or reverence isn’t something Christopher possesses for those he knows not and sustains no problem in sharing his dogma. He has the drollness of a mordant cynic; he’s sarcastic. Christopher sustains a weakness for trouble and should he find none he will craft it himself. Not anything is of worry to him, negligent and blasé, he can bear a great deal before he snaps. Protective over those he acknowledges as friends (especially Rosalina Bell), and is quick to jump to their aid. Delving into the unholy practices of the angels is not infrequent of him.

Biography:
The head of the Saiyan family, Christopher’s father, holds the position as General for one of the angel armies. Thus Christopher was trained from early years to be at a physical peak, in which he succeeded immensely. The success of his training brought with it the approval of his father and Christopher has grown to be the pride and joy of the Sayian family. In his father words, “Out of all of my sons, I have complete confidence that it will be Christopher who will lead the Sayian name into the highest of nobles.“ Taking into account the military background of his family, Christopher was taught respect and obedience for those who are higher than him. In addition, knowledge is of significance and he was trained to sit and learn. It was in his strict learning conditions that he met Rosalina Bell, an unusually pure angel with even more unusual primeval ideologies. He befriended the girl and has not been separated since.

Vincent Alexander Venetti

Most Used Power:
Vincent’s physical capabilities exceed that of an average Demon; he is faster, stronger and more agile than most – a feat he prides himself in. Vincent has mastered the element of Fire and is close to achieving Air; this has drawn him towards the power of darkness, a power which he is willing to accept with wide, open arms. This has allowed him to gain the power of manipulating and draining life-forces, also giving him power to manipulate the will of the dead; not yet allowing to raise the dead, however, manipulating a ghost or a ghoul to do his bidding; however, he has not quite mastered the technique, therefore, on the rare occasion, it has the potential to backfire on him.
Personality:
Vincent is a natural born leader, he knows how to intimidate, how to control and how to be in control. Although he doesn’t have a short fuse, his demeanour is that of pure evil; unlike his friend, Melody, he takes on the persona of a true Demon. He has little patience for those ranked below him; which to him is everyone, and he doesn’t take disrespect lightly. Callous to those who mean nothing to him (this again is everyone) he has no problem in disciplining where he sees fit.
Biography:
Being born into nobility justifies Vincent’s lack of patience and respect for those beneath him. From an early age Vincent was taught that being at the top was of the greatest importance. The moment he realized that he and his family, although noble, were not at the top his demeanour changed to a great degree. It is an expected stage of development for the eldest son of a demon family to seize charge as soon as possible.
This for Vincent happened at quite an early age. His father though not pleased that his son now surpassed him permitted the change of leadership without question. Upon Vincent gaining authority of the Venetti family he also gained the attention of some of the higher ranked officials within the underworld. This pleased him and his family greatly and with Vincent in charge the Venetti family over the years has grown in power and status. Vincent’s reasoning for acceptance at the Academy of Vendace Halls is primarily due to the fact that he wishes to follow the family tradition and graduate like those before him.

For a female, Melody’s physical abilities are rather high; she is speedy and stealthy which can come in handy in close range battle; she has also come closer to mastering the elements of Earth and Fire, therefore leading her closer to the power of Darkness; she has learnt how to create, manipulate and destroy matter. This power, however, can take quite the toll on her if used too much. Sometimes it would be easier to run from the battle than to stand there and waste the time and energy on deconstructing the matter of her opponent, other times, it can lead to immense pain and very rarely cause her to start breaking the matter of her own body down.
Personality:
Cool, calm and collected, it takes quite a lot to break Melody’s rage break. She is easily frustrated and tends to exclaim her words when she is; however, she is almost never angered. Sitting back and watching is her forte’ in a crowd of people she doesn’t know; however, with friends, she can be quite the talker. For a Demon, she comes off seemingly innocent; she is childish more often than serious, but knows when to hold her tongue. She is quite the smartarse and will throw sarcastic comments about like a never ending game of hot potato.

She is loyal to a T; she would follow her close friend, Vincent, to the ends of the realms and back; despite the fact she has no romantic feelings for him at all – she finds him too demonic (the irony befalls her). She isn’t very respectful of the lower races; she believes they don’t deserve it unless they earn it.
Biography:
Orphaned at a young age, due to the holy wars, Melody was subject to harsh living conditions. She made it her mission to only survive off the nobles; considering they could afford to do so. As a result, she mastered slipping through state of the art security charms, completely undetected. This led her to the Venetti house; a family stationed high up in the Demons world of politics.
It was in Vincent’s bedroom that she was finally caught in her charade of sneaky antics. The proceeding conversation occurred:
Vincent: “What are you doing?”
Melody: “Nothing, what are you doing?”
Vincent: “Going to bed; are you stealing from me?”
Melody: “No,”
Vincent: “Good, because that would be bad,”
Melody: “How bad?”
Vincent: “I’d have to kill you,”
Melody: “That is bad,”
Vincent: “Indeed... My parents are coming, get in the closet, because I’ll die if they find you,”
Upon the coming and going of his parents, she proceeded to ask if she could leave his closet and house, in which he bluntly denied her permission; she was stuck there. Through the night she talked to him, speaking of ways he could overthrow his father and take the position as Head of the Venetti family and stated that she could help him if he so wished. It was really from then, where their friendship formed; she would continue to live in his closet (without his parents knowing of their extra house mate), while helping the young Demon to take his rightful place.
Through the years, Melody (also known as the Venetti boy's Closet Demon), has met many noble families and has become quite known within the noble ranks. She often stands at Vincent’s side and continues to advise him on the political and family matters he has to deal with. Upon taking charge of the Venetti family, Vincent allowed Melody to have her own room and a place within the Venetti Manor; though, on the odd occasion, he still finds her sleeping in his new, bigger and more comfortable closet.

She most uses the power of short matter manipulation, meaning she can slid into the shadows and teleport short though she has mastered the usage of air. She struggles most with mastering earth, and is yet to try even for fire or air as she uses air to move those elements when available. Shifting through the shadows though takes a quick toll and quickly makes her frame become skeleton like, draining all energy from her.
Personality:
She is silent mostly, following others or merely observing what is going on. She constantly is found with minor thieves, tuning her skills with daggers and knives. Alaskan, when she does speak, always keeps her voice soft, in a lull of sorts. She willingly enters risky situations to gain favor on whoever's side she wishes to take but when one of those she considers an ally is attacked, Alaskan will torture their lives until they beg for mercy. Sweet in appearance, her temper is as wicked as anyone would imagine.
Biography:
Born into a thieving family, Alaskan grew up first knowing how to slip daggers between someone's ribs and later grew up into her inheritance. She sought to perfect the art of slipping through shadows and did so until one night she was caught by a handsome boy. She was 7, yet to kill anyone simply because of the sheltered life the thieves provided. They had developed a love for her and taught her everything they could about the craft. But as she had gazed at the boy, a cruel smile danced over her lips.
"Won't you come play with me?" Her whisper had reached the boy's ear just as he noticed the look in her eyes. Shaking his head, he had scrambled backwards but Alaskan merely flitted through the shadows to land on his shoulders.
"Now that's not very nice is it?" Her hands had wrapped around his throat, choking him with cruel strength.
From then on, she was constantly found among all groups, but her favorite places were bars, where men, half drunk, became easy targets to her random killings. Her thieving days never stopped but it wasn't until the age of 16 she actually allowed herself to be brought into friend groups. Now, she used her wicked temper in defense as well as personal pleasure, so long as her friends didn't cross a line.

He has also taken interest in air, leading him closer to the darkness; allowing him to slow down time for a few seconds.

If there's one word to discribe him with, it would probably be street. He has cuts and bruises accross his knucles. He knows how to live out in the open. He's cold and hardened on the inside from his days on the street. Never trusting a soul. If he does, you should be thankful.
Biography
When Dexter was growing up and going to highschool, He never really was one to hang out with the jocks; in fact he'd rather put his nutsack in a blender. He never really was a normal scene kid either; he never thought cutting yourself was cool. To him, life was just a sadistic oppurtinity for some facists to do whatever the hell they wanted. His life was a slowing wheel, the world was gray to him. But there was a bright spot in all of this. Her. Her name was Vickky Favorm. Most people would have seen her just as any old slumbitch going to that wretched, pathetic excuse for a school. He didn't. They had a rocky relationship. Lots of fights about this and that. One night it was a real brutal one and... well. He killed her. He didn't know how he had done it... What had come over him?
What had triggered it? She'd said something about his dad (who had left him at a small age) and a 'You Bitch' had been thrown in there somewhere. He had burned her death. That's when his mother told him of his true manner: A Demon. He ranaway from home. They found him. They brought him to the academy.

Shifting into a silver moon wolf, his face half marred with a white slash across it. His demon powers manifest in the control of fire, shadows and earth but in order to do this he must feed on the shadows. If there are not enough, or he pushes himself too far, he begins to deform, becoming part wolf part demon at the same time. His eyes glow purple, his skin turns a golden shade, arms lengthen, fur sprouts, jaw protrudes, teeth sharpen but mostly he is just driven mad. If pushed far enough it can take days to weeks for him to return to normal.
Personality:
He is outgoing, charming and an all around attention seeker. He would get in fights at a young age, fighting with those around him for fun. But he often switches, taken on a bipolar effect where he can go from outgoing to shut down in minutes. If provoked he will lash out, transforming into his half creature instantly.
Biography:
He grew up with the wolves, killing his twin brother at the age of three. Afterwards, his mother (the shifter) raised him in secret, training him in the ways of their people. He learned hunting, stealth and control of his shifting. When he was 12 though he moved out, searching through towns until he holed up with the thieves. Having learned stealth, he was adept at the thief life. Soon he rose through the ranks, almost to the point of leadership when he was called to the academy. He had always looked after Alaskan, more of a pet when she was around. He would follow her in wolf form, moving shadows to help her jumping. He stayed low profile, often killing those who followed the without her knowledge. Alex wanted nothing more than her to become the best and those that stood in her way would settle with him.

An Illithid's strength lies in it's fantastic psionic abilities. From telepathy to mind control, to sucking brainwaves, creating illusions and telekinesis at higher levels. Cynric has focused mostly on Illusions to stay alive on his own in the past years, to cover up his appearance. Raised as a human warlock as a child, he does have some potential for minor sorcery. When well versed in both his psionic and magical abilities Illithids develop tremendous magical resistances. Illithids have a very weak constitution outside of water and so are vulnerable to almost any physical attack. Not to mention that big head and tentacles are somewhat inconvenient to haul around, so speed and agility is not their forte. Under water though! All these weaknesses are reversed.
Personality:
Having spent a life in shadows and solitude Cynric is somewhat antisocial. That is, he is afraid of people but longs to be close to them. He has yet to find a creature unafraid of his appearance and willing to get to know him. That is why he developed almost exclusively his illusion powers. Though perceived as evil, and perhaps a little malicious, the young Scrymgeour is actually fairly thoughtful when... well... IF befriended.
He is very serious about his academics and generally performs very well. Could it be because of his overly large brain? Maybe! But mainly because he seeks power to overcome those that would oppress him.
Biography:
There is a tale of a witch and her son. Married in satanic tradition, the husband died in obscure circumstances shortly after impregnating his beloved. She bore the child and raised him as a warlock. He was all that reminded her of her late betrothed and could not live without the boy. They lived happy for some years until something changed. The son developed a dark obsession with the sea. He would spend days and days at large on a boat fit only for himself, practicing spells and rituals kept tightly secret. One day, he simply did not come home. The witch became sad for she knew, being his mother or not, she had lost her place in his heart. Walking along the beach one day she heard a call, that of a mermaid. She ran into the ocean until knee-deep and spoke with the creature. "The man you seek to reclaim we seek to discard. This offspring of yours has been tainting our home waters with his Dark Arts and the flora and fauna have began to die." said the mermaid. "This interests me little", answered the witch. "Oh, but there are ways to stop this madness of his... you need to contact the Sea Demon, using these." The mermaid handed the unholy matron two vials: one of black water, the other of iridescent sea salts, and then swam away.
The witch raced back to her cottage, her heart swelling. She prepared a ritual and mixed the vials' contents. Through the pentacle drawn on her floor rose the most nauseating, foul-smelling mass resembling a humanoid skeleton covered in rotting fish carcasses and with the head of a shark. "What dare you ask of me, witch!? Oh! Oh... Say nothing, I understand just by reading your heart. I am the demon your young son has been gathering offerings for in exchange for special powers. I have bound him to me, forget about him!" "I can't!", replied the witch, "he is my world... I need him free of your hold." The demon was obviously angry, and more powerful than any she had seen before, not very far in rank from Satan himself! "I will make you a deal. Give me your life and I will let go of your son's. It is only fair, no? One for one..." The witch fell to her knees and cried. Either way she would lose him, but at least in one he would be free. She quelled her sobbing. "I accept..." After she spoke the words she fell to her knees, a milky white wisp emerging from her mouth and gathering in the demon's hand.
With a snap of his fingers, the Sea Demon made the boy appear, falling to the ground on top of his mother's body. He was no more than 9. "Your mother made a deal with me, boy! Her life for yours. A pity really, you showed promise. I guess I do have a soft spot still for my worldly pleasures." The child raised his head a bit, puzzled. "In any case, you are free! GO, before I change my mind and draw you back in." As the boy scampered to leave the hut, the demon laughed maniacally, itching him to look back. "Here is a present, from father to son." A jolt of violet light shot from the demon, who disappeared, straight into the lad's back. Screaming, he fell to his knees and then on his back, convulsing in pain as his body twisted and deformed, leaving his skin purplish blue, fingers clawed, form slender and his head... oh his head... It was as if a four-tentacled octopus had perched on his neck. When he could stand he dashed off into the woods, never to be heard of again.

In a word, he's strong. He's bull-headed, has a bit of an ego, and fancies himself the 'Alpha' personality. This isn't to say that he doesn't have a soft-side. He's loyal, and will bow to those that deserve his obedience after they have proven to him that they should have it. These traits also make him fiercely protective of those he is close to, but that group has never been very large. He's a little quiet, but will speak up if he needs to. He is quite serious about being given his own personal space.
Biography:
He was born into a small family, his parents and (later on) one younger brother. They lived on the edge of a small town for years with no trouble, his mother an herbalist, and supplier of homeopathic remedies to the rest of the town. His father was a working man. After his younger brother was born, there were rumours of werewolves in the surrounding area. Not very many people took the stories seriously, but they were indeed, true. David was all for helping his mother, and while they and his little brother were out they heard the howl of a wolf. It chilled all of them, as they had never heard the sound before. It was a while later after that day, that David came home one day from being out and found his mother crying in front of their fireplace. His little brother had been out playing in the forest, and was attacked. He was dead.
Fueled by anger, David took a weapon and charged into the woods, prepared to kill whatever beast had taken his brother. It was nights later before he came upon the creature, and battled with him, in the end prevailing, but sustaining his own wounds.
These wounds caused him to be infected by the werewolf disease, which he later found out the hard way.
At first he couldn't control the beast within him. Lucky for his family he was away in the woods, far enough that after his first shift, he had barely reached the edge of the small clearing near his house. He wasn't sure what had happened, but awoke naked and confused. It was his mother who figured it out, as she was working with wolfsbane, and David recoiled from it. From then, he and his mother searched for ways to cure him, or to at least make it easier to control. Yes, this involved heavy chains that he was restrained by in the woods on the nights he felt the beast trying to break through his skin.
He received the letter, having heard about the school and knowing that those that aren't quite normal are the ones that take attendance there. Having better control over his beast, and knowing that others might be there and be able to help him fully accept and control it, he decided that enrolling would probably be best.
You never know what you might find at a place like that.

Although she had been trained to be an agile shifter, was in top physical shape, and had mastered her parents animal counterparts, she had never been able to fight real battles. Her inexperience and naïve mind are her biggest weaknesses. The letter that had arrived just a little before her 18th birthday is what gave her the chance she needed to get away. She also hasn't been able to shift into a different human appearance and hopes that this school will help her reach that goal.
Personality:
Just like a teenager who has been released from the grips of high school life, Anne wants to do nothing short of everything. Her curiosity and desire to experience new things in life are what fuels her every day. Unlike the mannered, respectable, woman she was raised to be, here at the school she is playful, energetic, and also quite sarcastic. Her sarcasm, however much she finds humorous, others can find it to be slightly offensive and brusque. Anne also possess the greatest ability to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Trouble always seems to find her and if it can’t, her curiosity always seems to lead her straight to it.

She has a witty and sarcastic personality, and loves to tease and banter.
While she seems wishy washy, she is surprisingly sentimental about her relationships. Anything that evolves beyond one night stands and romping around in dark corners is something she treasures. Friends and lovers are people that she will loyally follow and protect. As a result, she rarely allows herself to forge bonds like these, considering them a personal weakness.

She was raised in a clan of Sea Sirens, and since birth, has been trained to hone her voice and singing. Because of this particular upbringing, her strongest asset is her voice, having practiced how to enchant and hypnotize others with her songs for her entire life.
Having been surrounded by women that would lure sailors to their deaths, Lilith doesn't think much of cold hearted killing, though she sees no point in practicing it herself. If she is forced to, for whatever reason, she won't hesitate to slaughter someone that she doesn't know, regardless of age, gender, or even innocence.
She has no particular rank associated with her name, aside from the fact that she is a descendant of one of the original sirens. Unfortunately, the name holds little influence among the supernatural community, though she is well known and relatively respected among other sirens.

Seth's entire body has undergone extensive improvement. He is quite a bit stronger, faster, and more dexterous then human average under the best conditions, but when adrenaline pumps into his body, these abilities spike, surpassing mere human beings. He has been improved mentally, but compared with the rest of the students he is not particularly intelligent. Other abilities improved upon include regeneration, concentration, and resistance to injury.
Control Over Power:
Seth's power is constantly in effect at the best of times. However, when Seth gets angry (which is often), due to his enhancements, he gets far more angered then normal, and his abilities spike as a result. He has been known to get to the point where his anger goes past his self-control, although he is relatively good at keeping a lid on it until it is needed.
Personality:
Seth is an angry person. Irritable and grumpy even at his best, at worst he is downright vicious, if not uncontrollably violent. This makes him superbly hard to talk to. Those who do find Seth to be more tempered and thoughtful then appearances suggest. He tends to shun company, is it, in turn, tends to either shun him or make him pissed. As such, he often performs badly in class, but does well on homework and studying. Judgmental and brash, he rarely minces words or lies, preferring to state exactly as he feels. Since usually he feels angry, Seth has an impressive swearing problem.
Biography:
I became a mutant the old-fashioned way; kidnapped at an early age, followed by torturous experimentation by unscrupulous scientific assholes. Well... that's kind of an exagerration. They didn't exactly kidnap me. They just did some paperwork and picked me up at the orphanage when I was a little kid... eleven, twelve? Something like that.
The experiments weren't torture, either. They weren't fucking GENTLE, tell ya that, but we aren't talkin', like, thumbscrews or anything. They even doped me up for the big operations... guess they didn't want to hear the screamin'? They were assholes, all business, no talk. Kind of like the dicks you meet at posh schools like this one... I mean, I would guess, anyways? I hear this place is pretty, uh, different.
Eventually I grew up, all of fifteen years old and swearin' like a sailor, and it became hard to contain me. I'm a fucking riot when I'm angry, and they tended to piss me off, y'know? I wanted to get out. Eventually I found the way... the Director of the project came in to have a personal one-on-one with me. So I broke his nose and shoved the bone six inches into his brain. The scientist guys weren't sure what to do about their paycheck fountain turning into a corpse. I took advantage of that, and made my way out.
Took me two days, but I finally got arrested. They found me, tired, hungry, with blood on my knuckles and a few beat-down muggers around me. They didn't like seeing a kid without a home. That's too simple, too merciful. 'Stead, they put me through foster care.
Not really gonna talk about that. Spent time in and out of homes, no real big deal. I started destroying my classwork, too. They couldn't understand how a punk kid like me was getting straight A's, but it's pretty fucking simple. I'm smart. Not sure if I always have been, or if it's a result of the experiments or whatever, but that shit just came easy to me. Studying and doing homework was even kind of fun; I liked using my head. Almost as much as I liked using my fists.
I started roaming the streets, was the main problem. I'd get all fired up about something, creep outta my room, and just... take walks. And I'd beat the shit out of anyone who gave me trouble. Took on whole gangs of guys and beat them till everything was bloody... I always got better. They didn't. Not always.
And that's where you guys come in. Apparently, if I promise 'good behavior', you'll give me all the thinking I'll ever need. No more sissy high school crap, we're talking hard classes and motherfuckers for classmates. Guys that can set you on fire or are actually demons and all that jazz. Let me tell you.

Control Over Power:
It’s quite short ranged and he can only cause resonance disruption around one corner, as angling vibrations is very difficult. But firing a brick from the wall around the corner is a small feat. Because of the very unique resonance given out by any one individual, he has immense trouble using his ability on any creature or person. He has, however, mastered styling people hair with a few prods...
Crake has an enormous effect on water, being the perfect medium for vibration. With his fingertips on the surface, he can make a tsunami dance.
Personality:
Many mistake Crake for an arrogant self absorbed brat. This is only because he refuses to take his eyes off his current book for less of a reason than crossing the street. He hears and sees everything around him, processes it, and files it away in case he ever needs to know what the lady one block down was waring to work three Decembers ago. He is often eager to help and more than eager to offer corrections. He is a good friend, easy to trust and a fantastic conversationalist, if you don’t mind talking to the cover of a book. Speaking in a flat almost rumbling monotone, he loves to be included if only in the background.
Biography:
From a young age, Crakes parents knew something was different. Before he was talking or walking, he had chewed through A-O of the families’ encyclopaedia collection. Soon after that he was pestering his mother for science texts and trips to the local universities. Where he found that if he carried a schoolbag and sat quietly inside the door he could listen for the duration of the lecture and no one would pay him a second glance.
About this time his mother became concerned about any long term effects of this behaviour and contacted experts. The first doctor took a week to give up on diagnosing a six year old, which had a correct counterargument to every syndrome he could imagine. The second lasted half as long and the third half again.
He developed his power in secret, never having to use it save for a few lockers and vending machines mysteriously falling on bullies. The letter came as a small surprise; he had theorised about some form of genetic alteration but never had any way to confirm it. He was excited, for the first time in a very long time, something boiled his interest. A new school, full of power and mystery meant only one thing. A library...

Vendace Halls Graduation Assignments

For the duration of one’s stay at Vendace Halls Academy, trepidation[1] is a mental state that each and every student is expected to prevail over. Failure to overcome such an emotion results with the delay of graduation – and the impediment of graduation day expedites ones downfall; death. As Head Master Socratic so fervently declares, ‘if one cannot survive during their time at my academy then how long would they survive outside of it? My graduating students not only excel in their individual powers but they also master the technique of survival – something that one must acquire if they hope to live a fulfilling life.‘

An unnatural haze has manifested itself in the majestic gardens of the school. The abnormal detail regarding this haze is this – it doesn’t appear to spread. It’s as though there stands an invisible barricade or wall encircling the fog. Dense and heavy are its adjectives. Upon staring into this haze one observes only the cloudy saturation of the grey. It is undeniable that entering the fog results with dire consequences. Two penalties have transpired for those gallant (or foolish) enough to enter. One, the person entering is never seen or heard from again, ever. Two, those who do exit the fog wind up possessed – and I mean Captain Howdy possessed.

Within a current time-frame 12(twelve) students vanished, with meagre reports as to what truly became of them. The only similarity linking all disappearances is that the student entered the fog. It is only once Head Master Socratic becomes aware of the disappearance of a particular student does any form of evidence surface. Nevertheless should an individual be deemed ‘missing’ they are presumed deceased prior to verification. Upon the Head Masters awareness of the missing student, their heart is discovered perched on their pillow in their dormitory alongside this bloody note:

Within the same time frame 4(four) male students have all shown the symptoms of phase two[2] possession and one escalated to phase three. Again the relationship between all four cases is that each student entered the fog and they each departed the fog. The diagnosis is only established upon the boys either reporting themselves or someone else reporting them to the infirmary. As a safety regulation any case of possession must be notified to the Head Master. The immediate response of Head Master Socratic in any case of possession, is execution of the student. In his words, ‘if any of my students are imprudent enough to befall possession, then they deserve the deletion of their free will. This also applies to the performance of an exorcism; I am absolutely opposed to it. Unfortunately, I cannot simply sanction any entity to meander through my school thus possession is not permitted within my walls. Resultant is merely execution of the student before phase four occurs.’

At the present moment there exists a rumour, whether or not it is a fabrication has not yet been deduced. The rumour is this, ‘something inside the fog devours those it loathes and possess ones it does not.’ Before the execution of one of the possessed boys, he stated something about observing a statue in the fog. These are just rumours as is the notion that those who triumph over the unexplained haze are a step further to their graduation.

1. Trepidation: A state of alarm or dread; apprehension. A feeling of fear or agitation about something that may happen.

2. The Phases of Demonic Possession
a. Manifestation – the entity is invited in, either intentionally or unintentionally
b. Infestation – the entity makes its presence known (hearing knocks/scratching on the wall, whispers, strange growls, seeing other entities, the shaking of objects around them, physical nausea)
c. Oppression – break down of the target to a point of despair so they are venerable (difficulty sleeping, disturbing nightmares, any exposure to weakness, fears, guilt, grief)
d. Possession – the targets free will has been breached and the entity has access to the body

Name: Szayel Granz Harribel

Age: 18

Gender: male

Race: Siren

Most Used Power: Charm through eye contact, voice and touch. Sexual energy reading. (Rarely if ever used) Sonic scream through whistle or vocalization.

Personality: Szayel is an extremely flirtatious young man, touching and invading a persons personal space often. He avoids serious topics and will do just about anything to get a person in the sack, especially an alpha werewolf, the only creature to be unaffected by his charm so far. However, that does not mean that he is completely sex crazed, he can be serious and is rather protective of his concubines and if he were to attain one, his mate would be pampered, whether he was the alpha or not. If he is not flirting he can be seen reading a karma sutra book, although it is just a cover for a book of 18th century poetry. He is normally quiet when not around others so that he doesn't garter attention but due to his species innate ability to lure people to them, it isn't very often. However, when you put him around other people and he is playfully sarcastic and teasing. He is not much of a fighter but everyone has their limits, when his is reached cover your ears and run, his siren abilities make him a real SCREAMER!...in and out of bed.

Biography: Szayel comes from a rather small but powerful clan of Sex entities, ranging from Incubi to sirens. However unlike most birthed Fae, he was able to use his abilities from the start, specifically his charm magic allowing him to manipulate others against their will. Over the years it has just gotten stronger and has continued to grow. His ability howevee, is not easily controlled, forcing gim to charm people without meaning to.

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Born or Turned Werewolf: Turned

Personality: In a word, he's strong. He's bull-headed, has a bit of an ego, and fancies himself the 'Alpha' personality. This isn't to say that he doesn't have a soft-side. He's loyal, and will bow to those that deserve his obedience after they have proven to him that they should have it. These traits also make him fiercely protective of those he is close to, but that group has never been very large. He's a little quiet, but will speak up if he needs to. He is quite serious about being given his own personal space.

Biography: He was born into a small family, his parents and (later on) one younger brother. They lived on the edge of a small town for years with no trouble, his mother an herbalist, and supplier of homeopathic remedies to the rest of the town. His father was a working man. After his younger brother was born, there were rumours of werewolves in the surrounding area. Not very many people took the stories seriously, but they were indeed, true. David was all for helping his mother, and while they and his little brother were out they heard the howl of a wolf. It chilled all of them, as they had never heard the sound before. It was a while later after that day, that David came home one day from being out and found his mother crying in front of their fireplace. His little brother had been out playing in the forest, and was attacked. He was dead.

Fueled by anger, David took a weapon and charged into the woods, prepared to kill whatever beast had taken his brother. It was nights later before he came upon the creature, and battled with him, in the end prevailing, but sustaining his own wounds.
These wounds caused him to be infected by the werewolf disease, which he later found out the hard way.
At first he couldn't control the beast within him. Lucky for his family he was away in the woods, far enough that after his first shift, he had barely reached the edge of the small clearing near his house. He wasn't sure what had happened, but awoke naked and confused. It was his mother who figured it out, as she was working with wolfsbane, and David recoiled from it. From then, he and his mother searched for ways to cure him, or to at least make it easier to control. Yes, this involved heavy chains that he was restrained by in the woods on the nights he felt the beast trying to break through his skin.

He received the letter, having heard about the school and knowing that those that aren't quite normal are the ones that take attendance there. Having better control over his beast, and knowing that others might be there and be able to help him fully accept and control it, he decided that enrolling would probably be best.
