The old woman peered at the hotchpotch company in front of her. “So, yer lookin’ fer adventure, ain’t ya?” She was rumoured to be wise and slightly magical. You sure couldn’t tell when you stumbled over her in a dark alley! Still, the big, sharp gaze of the woman made those in front of her cringe with discomfort.

“Those thangs’re mostly lethal...”, she murmured. Meeting blank stares, the wise woman elaborated: “Adventure! Dangerous thangs...” Still, the company assembled in front of her bristled with weapons and she even spotted one of those fancy wizardry hats. Perhaps they might be all right. “Well, then. ‘Ave it yer way”, she grumbled. With that she casually pointed at a huge cupboard against the far wall. “Thru the door, into the ‘allway. Then second to las’ door on the left”.

Well then: this is a Medieval fantasy adventure. I'm not one for elaborate rules. You can choose one of the basic fantasy races, one of those well known professions. You know, dwarven ballet dancers, elven coopers and pixie melee warriors. Things like that. If you wanna go down a more obscure route, just post a cs and I'll judge it by it's merits. I don't mind characters with a bit of life experience, with some power. So, lets not all be good looking 18 year olds. ;)

The doorway you're about to enter through will catapult you to a far off place on the world. You'll get the chance to scalp pygmee warriors, eat the meat of a warthog and gain more wealth than you can envision.

The above scene is not the opening scene - or you all wish it to be. But why skip the opportunity to get to know each other beforehand? :D I’ll conjure up a grand location with meeting-up potential.

I’m not big on rules. Common sense will get us where we wanna be. I’ll even allow foul language. As long as the rpg demands it, or it is a signature trait of your character. I’m not too fond of bodyparts in foul language tho’. Why go there when a fantasy, mediaval world offers such a wealth of inspiration? ;)

Appearance: overall description of your character. Oddities, birthmarks, and nasty scars I like!

Personality: quirks, fears and desires make your character unique.

History: can be as brief as you like. It would be nice to know why your character joined the company of adventurers. Is it on the run for the law? Does it want to be rich beyond belief?

Notable equipment: here you describe that magical sword of yours. No sword? Perhaps your character owns a rustic, heirloom-ladle? If you don’t have any of the like, you can assume that your decently equipped. I don’t mind things popping out from bags and pockets when the need for them occurs.

Hmm...I know its a medieval fantasy, but for whatever reason, this makes me want to make a steampunk type character. Which is a completely different genre. I don't even.

I'll join if I'm able. Should have a CS up sometime later today hopefully.

Age: 17

Appearance: Simon is fairly short compared and is not very muscular compared to other people he has blonde hair, and both his eyes are mainly blue but have green mixed in and his left eye has a faint golden tinge to it. He wears glasses but they have no lenses and a red cape over a white shirt and trousers.

Personality: During conflict Simon prefers to stay at the back and cast spells, he is a cautious man who puts himself first but likes to think he contributes to the group, he's most definitely not a leader and he would probably trip a teammate up to slow down a hoard of goblins. Despite his flaws Simon is a friendly person with a good heart who is never unpleasant towards other people and can't lie to save his life.

History: From a young age Simon always wanted to be a knight, he grew up hearing stories of their brave deeds and glorious adventures...Unfortunately he lacked the upper body strength and the lower body strength and the coordination, he lacked a lot of things and was unable to become a knight. But don't feel too bad for him, this rejection lead him to take the path of a mage which was his second choice all along. Simon began training in a budget mage college aged 15 and stayed there for two years before growing board and finding his way into the adventure's traveling party.

Notable equipment: Elemental staff (see picture), basic spell tomes, training gloves, family's valuable rings.

I kind of made up some stuff and made some assumptions about the world for my CS, hope it's all good with you GM.

Age: 26 (looks can be deceiving)

Personality:
Beau Barnes is a very feminine young man who cherishes this trait. For the Halfling loves nothing more than to imagine himself as his own porcelain doll; dressing in the newest and finest silks he can find, of which a royal blue color is typically chosen to bring out the color of his eyes.

His vanity itself stands alone as his greatest character flaw by far. Still, it also adds more problems to the Halfling’s irksome ways. When one tries as hard as Beau does to look his best, they obtain quite a few mortal enemies – sweat, dirt, and grime to name a few. Beau is not necessarily germophobic; he just detests looking anything but his best. And for that, he tends to step lightly and avoid the puddles of rainwater upon the road. Regardless of such hazards presented along the way, the potential rewards of traveling (gems, silks, riches) prevail in Beau’s twisted mind and continue to push him along the dirt path.

Due to his vanity, Beau can act quite immature and, in combination with his appearance, can often be mistaken for a much younger age. While the Halfling is very self absorbed, it is in appearance only; he does not consider himself any better a being than any of his fellow travelers. He tends to be friendly and quite talkative and loves to feel appreciated in whatever way he can, whether it be opening doors and locks for others, or attending to any injuries or maladies they may have incurred. While rather odd, Beau can be even considered quite the pleasant company for those who can see past his immature and quirky ways. [

History:

Cottonsquare Village was not the sort of place to seek fame, fortune, nor glory. In fact, the location of such a place would most definitely never be found upon a traveler’s map and its name would doubtfully ever reach the ears of most. For this particular village was mostly self-supporting and rather small with its all-halfling residents considerably few in number when compared to most other populations. However, as isolated and unbeknown it was, Cottonsquare still welcomed the familiar trade of those few merchants whom had the pleasure of discovering it. And a pleasant discovery it would prove! For nowhere in a week’s ride was there a place to obtain finer raw cotton materials or related items such as articles of clothing, bags, and the sort. One could say the village residents had a natural knack for the material. It was this that kept those few merchants flowing through their loose dirt paths and the village from being forgotten completely. Apart from the occasional merchant, Cottonsquare was a small, inbred village that had become rather stale in nature; the faces would change with time, but the numbers did not and the lifestyle had become all too mundane.

It was in this sort of private place that Hob and Eleanor Barnes resided. While rather nonexistent in the minds of outsiders, the couple were very well known and respected in Cottonsquare as the only inhabitants to not have originated from within the village. For many a year ago, the two outsiders had waltzed into the village carrying their newborn son. They spoke of their desire to take up residence and quiet and peaceful life apart from the other unnecessary roughness of the outer world. While this was far from the village’s norm ways, they quickly accepted the Barnes for their wit and charm. The residents would also benefit from some of the newcomers' “outside talents”. While in no way a great cotton farmer, Hob proved to be a valuable locksmith and key-maker and played a vital role in the overall security of the village. His lovely wife, Eleanor, brought an extensive knowledge of herbs as a medicine woman.

Throughout the Barnes’ quiet years in Cottonsquare, their son Beau would come to earn quite the reputation for himself. The other inhabitants would often choose Beau’s looks as the subject of their morning gossips, for the boy was known to have such an unusually beautiful appearance – albeit rather feminine. For some period of time, his gender had even been questionably whispered about. But eventually the grapevine tires of the same conversations and people settled for dropping the subject. After all, Beau was simply just a very pretty boy. Still, the simple residents of Cottonsquare did worry.
Such looks can only serve to go to one’s head, they thought. And while Hob and Eleanor would have loved nothing more than for their beloved son to prove such silly ideas false, Beau fell miles below his parents’ expectations. For the poor boy had become so self absorbed in his appearance. Ironically enough, Beau had developed a great weakness for the fine silks brought in by the regular merchants.

As the years went by, Beau discovered he did not share his parents' passion for the quiet life. Rather, he felt suffocated by the small and modest cotton farming town. And so, once of proper age, the young Halfling lovingly bid his goodbyes to Hob and Eleanor, promising to visit again, and began adventuring beyond Cottonsquare’s borders. Having acquired the trade skills of both of his parents, Beau found himself able to make some modest income as a locksmith and key maker while occasionally selling some herbs and treating minor maladies/wounds along the side. However, modest, did not get the Halfling very far and he quickly found that honest work was far less rewarding than the not-so-honest. Soon enough Beau was making contracts with the more shady types of customers; promising his skills in picking the locks of the noble and wealthy. But it did not take long for Beau to develop a feeling of constant unease about his latest practices. He found himself never able to spend too much time in one place, having become so worrisome.

This obviously became quite the hassle and Beau did not appreciate the slight paranoia he had started to develop. And so he sought a group of individuals amongst which his skills would be of aid, and most importantly, of value.

Notable equipment:
Beau always carries his own fashioned lock picking devices upon himself in various places. His rather large robe sleeves conceal many tools of the craft as well. A small satchel at his side houses selected herbs for treating various injuries and maladies.

Age: 118 (uses illusions to make himself look younger)

Appearance:
He stands a mighty eighteen inches tall and eighteen pounds. His facial features he likes to play with day by day with simple illusions, full man and blue beard one day then bald with maroon muttonchops the next. He can change his features but his size is static. He wears leather armor full of useful things with a pair of sure gripping boots and two separate gloves to hide the large T's branded all over him, each time he was caught thieving he was given a brand to mark him for his crimes he was caught performing with current count of 21 brands.

Personality: quirks, fears and desires make your character unique.
WIP: So far he has an unnatural fear of cats from an incident with a wizards familiar and an un-healthy obsession for female half-orcs.

History:
'My life is a short story, when you ask a witch to be a gnome that's 18 inches long you better be more specific.' In truth he chose to have himself made smaller on purpose because it made him a better thief, not 'locksmith specialist' but an out and out thief. Yes it meant he had to sacrifice carrying so much stuff, but he thought of it a quality over quantity. Over a century of stealing has left him with many useful items over the years but nothing has tempered his fascination and study of magic but he is banned from ever learning magic after a fiasco involving a young boy with a lightning scar on his forehead. Thankfully that ban never said anything about magic items...


Notable equipment:
Mark 02 Design: Wand Magnification Dragoon
A...device used by him to carry two wands in a single two handed device rather than a wand in each hand, it can break into two parts for ease of storage so yes, he carries a two handed device that breaks into two parts so he doesent carry one in each hand... Gnomish logic at its best.
The device holds one magic wand and one metamagic rod to adjust the spell from the wand. Currently he has a weak wand of soul bolts with a rod of maximization so that every shot is a static full damage.
