**OK so right off the bat I'd like to say most, if not all, of the monsters/races that will be appearing in this story will be from the Forgotten Realms world and/or from the tabletop game Dungeons & Dragons. None of this information is going to be sold so we're just using that information as a guideline for our story which we're building for fun. This RP's party is going to have no more than six players at any given point. For those who insist on plot kick back with a blunt and enjoy some reading up ahead. For those who insist on just playing there's a 'too long didn't read' paraphrased paragraph at the end of this post.**

"No reason to get excited,"

"There are many here among us
Who feel that life is but a joke."

Our characters are located on an Earth~like planet. The surface is made up of archipelagos and continents similar in size to New Zealand. Creatures of legend, masters of magic, and bastions of civilization dot the landscape. Aquatic species of all kinds coexist behind the same walls, laugh together, and bleed side by side. Spellcasters, tieflings, and aasimar are uncommon although their existance is not doubted.
The recent discovery of gunpowder has made the water exceptionally more deadly. Pirates scour the seas of trade. Nations and city~states rise to the occasion and provide their own defenses. Cannon development is the biggest topic of conversation. These rare new weapons offer much needed protection against sea monsters and large armies.
New shores have been discovered to the North. The urge to be the first tugged at the hearts of many. This undiscovered jungle is simply a month's sail from the nearest friendly port. A settlement is quickly founded. Preliminary scouting parties report of a large landmass with several climates and geological formations. Nations go on the alarm. This fresh land means finder's keepers.
Less rocky areas of the coast marked the construction site of Port Jumanji, population ≈1,747. Great plans are in place from those with the coin to bring their visions to reality. This place is a stepping stone for supplies sent to the budding city of Silverhendrix, population 7,000+. The inhabitants consist of one quarter human, one quarter elf, the other half quite diverse. Silverhendrix's residents are mostly human and elf because those are the most populous races of the nearest port's nation. It was founded within a mile of the bottom of a tall waterfall. A portion of the nearby jungle has already been deforested and seeded for crops.
None of the wildlife has revealed itself to be mythical or demonic. Some have spoken of monsterous encounters although nothing farfetched. The river at the top of the waterfall flows in from the West. A field of wild grass stretches along either side of the water and as far as the eye can see. Northbound, one cartographer followed the waterfall's cliff until the land leveled out after about a dozen miles. This portion of the land was deciduous forest.
Contact with a native group is made to the East. These humanoids, although bipedal, are more beast than man. Storytellers recite chilling words during a journalist's conversation with a native shaman. ||Stay clear of the fountain for under that mountain is a place where time can't count in|| When pressed for further information the beastmen only said that this land was far larger than a human mind's greed.
Soon after a cave is found at the base of the waterfall. Only the first few groups to go down came back due to the cave being underwater. Everyone who has had the determination to explore further than the entrance has not returned. Natives insist on adventurers leaving the area be. These warnings were only taken seriously after a warband of fifty mermaids never left the cave.
Other cities have popped up all along the coast of this massive new land. No one has an answer for how large this land truly is. Groups have begun staking their claim across the wilderness. A dozen suburbs spring up in the Silverhendrix/Port Jumanji area. Violence along the roads is becoming more frequent.
For now the cities of Port Jumanji and Silverhendrix govern themselves and the surrounding wilds. The twin cities coexist with a beast community to the North East and with Port Shazhound twenty miles East of Port Jumanji.
Rumors with unnatural details are being spread. Our group is assembled to meet with Silverhendrix leaders concerning the matter of unsafe travel between the communities.
Playable races: default Baulder's Gate/NWN/DnD races, aasimar, tiefling, lacerti, half~merfolk, reika, vedalken, locathah, native, lizardfolk

TL ; DR version of outline:::: (1cp = $1) (1sp = $100) (1gp = $1,000) (1pp = $10,000)
A new continent is discovered on a planet similar in complexion and size to Earth. All of the bodies of water are large islands or archipelagos except for this one. It's huge. Creatures from across the globe rush to claim it as their own. Crime inevitably follows civilization. Your character is asked to help weed out the latest set of problems along the new roads in the new land. Explore the problems of colonists, natives, the land's ancient secrets, or just go pirating from island to island.
:: as far as leveling goes there will be advancements within skills aka they get better through use and your
:: Native characters display at most three different animals. However, the less "pure" their physical appearances are the fewer abilities they are given.
