The passengers on the boat were all jittery.
"Again everybody, please fasten your seat belts. As you know we are going through some choppy seas." , crackled the Captain over the intercom. One man was more jittery than others. He was hyperventilating, shifting in his seat. "Bro chill out. Gum?" said the man next to him. "No," he said stiffly. The man pulled out his brief case, taking out a needle. He injected himself with a green fluid. He jerked his head up, got up, mumbling something about going to the bathroom.
A good fifteen minutes later a bloodcurling scream filled the ship. "He's dead, his face-- it was melted off or something!" screamed a rather plump lady. "We're infected, we're all infected!"
The captain crackled over the intercom, "It has come to our attention that there is contagion on the ship. Masks will be dropping from above. We advise that you wear them to ensure you safety. Above all, please stay calm."
Backstory:
A cruise ship, the Carnival Splendor is coasting right over the Mariana Trench, the deepest part of the ocean. The weather is stormy and the boat rocks like crib. A man is found in the bathroom with half of his face melted off. After further study it is discovered that there is a contagion on the ship. The government tells the captain of the ship that above all costs he must keep the disease on the ship. The ship is not allowed to go anywhere. The passengers are stranded. Men in hazmat suits are soon dropped from helicopters. These men were dubbed "Suits." Chaos ensued. People slit into four factions; five if you count the suits a faction. It was survival of the fittest. It should be noted that the sickness is not transferred through air. "But Narwhal you said in the introductory paragraph that the captain said to wear gas masks!" That was before further studies had been administrated and yada. It is advisable to wash your hands as often as possible and avoid touching surfaces. Wearing gloves is advisable.
If you cannot read the words on the first pic click this link: http://zydecocruiser.net/splendor/dp.jpg
As that image is very important. It'll help to identify where you are when you are roleplaying. Also it is to identify main base of operations for the factions.
The Factions: NOTE: You must first look at the maps of the ship to understand the territories! NOTE: MAX FIVE PEOPLE PER FACTION. CAP MAY BE RAISED IF MORE PEOPLE JOIN.
Spoiler
Havoc:
Spoiler
When the factions first broke out, Havoc was the first faction. They are the main resistance. Always causing trouble for the gaurds and other staff members. They pride themselves in breaking the rules and not giving a shit. Although sometimes they can make rash desicions. They are prone to violence, causing riots every other day. They aren't peaceful riots either; a lot of times people get killed. They have somehow gotten their hands on weapons.Their main base of operations is the Upper Deck (check maps), guarded 24/7. Although they do know how to have a little fun; every Thursday night, it's booze and poker night. This faction gives increased fighting, endurance, and guarding skill. They'll stop at nothing to get off the boat, and back to their lives.
Dauntless:
Spoiler
The Dauntless accept that their stuck on this boat. But that doesn't mean they aren't going to live by the rules. They have double agents in every faction (except for Hazmat), they've corrupted a few sailors to give them extra parcels of food; they're extremely shady. They steal money and other goods; and lots of it. They slink around in the shadows of the Deck 0 and the Rivera Deck. This faction increases Lockpicking, Stealth, and Pickpocketing.
Society:
Spoiler
Society is an exclusive to the staff members (Security Guards, Sailors, and Governor/Senator). They go around trying dearly to enforce the laws. Their the ones who know what's really going on. Whenever there is news they hear about it first. They manage the whole ship. They're put in charge. They know every nook, cranny, and service hall on the ship. If they order someone to do something they'll do it; except Dauntless of course. The pesky little bastards. They carry weapons too, as any law enforcer would. They know that it may cost them their lives, but the contagion can't leave the ship. Their main base of operations are the Verandah Deck and parts of the Lido Deck. Justice is their morals. This faction increases Navigation, Persuasion, Judgement, and Weaponry.
The Horde:
Spoiler
The Horde has the majority of people on the boat. The Horde is so massive, although full of just normal people. But they don't need to be special people with all their numbers; beating people to death with their fists suffice. They like to abide to the laws but do fight back. Their sheer amount of numbers gives them a massive advantage in riots and safety making sure no one screws with them. Because of their sheer numbers their territory consists of part of the Lido deck and everything from the Panarama deck up. This faction increases Safety, Fistfighting, Intimidation.
Suits:
Spoiler
They came from the sky. They are hated for what they do. There have been many attempts on their lives. They are the Suits. They are men in Hazmat suits, resistant to disease. They came to study this new, unkown disease. They are cold and merciless. Executing the infected as they go. Cruel and coldhearted indeed. They are armed with T.A.S.E.R.s and Pistols (Colt '45s to be exact). They have no friends. Everyone hates them with a black fire in their hearts. The Suits are the ones that brought this horror upon them. This faction increases Immune to Diseases (unless Hazmat suit is torn), increased Knowledge, but is hated.
Neutral Decks:
Spoiler
You may have noticed that a few of the decks are not territories of any of the factions; These are either meeting decks or decks where dead bodies are held. Or supplies. But the supplies often get stolen.

Normal Citizen:
Spoiler
You fill in the lines yourself here. Just don't godmode (max 2 of the perks I have listed in other classes and your job has to make sense with the perks). If you choose this class you are automatically part of the Horde.
So without further ado, here are the rules:
Spoiler
This is a mature themed RP. It may get pretty gruesome at times. This is kinda shown from the intro paragraph.
I know this is a free roleplay, but please, try to refrain from speed posting, because it kind of kills a lot of RPs. When people don't speed post it helps develop the characters. And I dont want to have to read page after page of crap.
Swearing is accepted just not every 2 words.
If you drop out or suddenly dissapear you will be killed (In the Rp that is, not in real life... Heh heh).
If you do anything stupid you will be killed. This is a realistic RP, not one like in movies. If you get shot in the leg, you WILL be slowed down. If you jump into the storm racked, choppy seas, you WILL drown. Guarenteed.
Please notify me or TechBro of any absences.
No godmoding. If you godmode, you WILL be asked to leave. Here's what I mean by godmodding:
1) Invincibility
Creating a character so powerful and invulnerable that it cannot take any damage, be incapacitated or hindered, lose a fight, feel pain etc.
2) Dictating other players' responses
Swinging a punch and telling the other player that they are down, that they are unconscious, cut, dead or whatever.
3) Impossibility
Drawing a knife when your hands are tied. Pulling a bow out of your rectum when you're on the ground and hogtied (I wish I were making this up). Drawing a bow out of your rectum at all, come to that. Being held by the hair and with a knife at your throat but whizzing round and slapping your captive and disarming them.
4) Just plain silliness
Taking the plot to asinine turns purely to avoid your character having to suffer a misfortune too weak for your manly fictitious self. Being shot at and deflecting the bullet with a penny on a string so that it flies back up the gun nozzle. Again, I wish I were making this up.
5) Anything that is used to let one character force the plot and does not enable the story to be a properly collaborative effort with plausibility.
Now I don't expect you to go all Edgar Allen Poe on me, but please try to use correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
No arguing, pretty please? If you argue for some unkown reason a certain accident might occucur leading to the tragic death of your character. Oh well.
Although I am the GM of this, I'm not keeping you on a strict leash; Im very open for new story arcs, plot ideas, and other ideas.
If you have a problem with someone please don't take it out on them in the OOC; please PM me. A lot of the time its really easy to resolve these things.
Please try to create a diverse character. We don't want all of the same characters.
So if you are interested here is the Character Sheet. But please try to put very involved CS. Lots of info, lots of it. Anyways here's the character sheet:
Name:
Gender: (Boy or Girl?)
Age: (self explanatory)
Race: (e.g. Russian, German, American. You really can do this however you like. Hell you can do Antartican!)
Personality: (What is your character like? Is he/she stubborn or open to many things? Are they secluded? Are they friendly? That sort of thing)
Faction: (Havoc, Suits, Dauntless, Society, the Horde?)
Class: (Sailor, Hazmat, Security Guard, Burgular, Stand-Up Comedian, Buissnessman, Governor/Senator, and Normal Citizen.
Appearance: (You can show a picture or just describe it either one works, although I'd prefer a picture)
Background Info: (Does your character have a dark past? Do they carry any trinkets? This one is optional)
Extra: (Any odds and ends that didn't fit in the other categories? Such as your sexuality or a pet? Again, this is optional)
Personality: Meiya is the type of person you could look at and brush off as a "rebellious teenager", a "scene kid", a "troublemaker". On the outside, all of that is the truth. She isn't generally a good kid. Her MPD (Multiple Personality Disorder) tends to cause her to shelter and draw herself away from anyone she meets, which has made her much more lonely over the years. Although she's learned to control it without medication, it still gets the best of her sometimes.
Faction: Dauntless. Meiya is one of the double-agents pretending to be in Havoc.
Class: Normal Citizen.
Background Info: Meiya grew up for most of her life switching from foster home to foster home. Her dad left when she was three, and her mom committed suicide when she was eight. She had watched as her mom took the gun and shot herself in the head. Meiya quickly got involved in "bad activities" like shoplifting and public graffiti. Most of the time she did it to earn attention, whether it was from her temporary parents or her orphanage headmaster. (WILL WORK ON BIO TOMORROW WHEN I HAVE MORE IDEAS.)
◊ Background Info: Her father and mother told her she'd never make it as a sailor; for the winds are too hard and the water is too deep! Boy, did she prove them wrong. Evangeline is a sailor upon the cruise ship, the Carnival Splendor. Granted, it wasn't the pirate ship that she had dreamed of a child to be on, but it became her own in no time. Eva enjoys making sure everyone is having the best time they can be having. Before the outbreak she could easily be found on the activity decks checking in on the guests in between her duties of course. Sometimes getting a little off track, she does try her best to prove her parents wrong someday.

Meyia had entered a radio contest and won the prize of a free cruise on the Carnival Splendor to get on the cruise ship.
Extra: Meiya has a little 2 year old calico tabby kitten named Tyuki, (TEE-yoo-kee), which she adores and loves with all her heart.
