Plague (OOC)

In the year 2111, Earth has just received a massive upheaval,a plague created by the Communist Republic of East Asia (CREA). It was the perfect biological weapon, killing exactly 80% of the World's population. The remaining 20% became immune. However, they were not unaffected by the plague as was first thought. The survivors began to mutate, some physically by gaining unnatural strength, wings or even a tail. For others, the mutation was more... subtle. For want of a better word, they gained "superpowers".

Skip forward two years, anarchy still rules throughout the Old American Empire but things have calmed down. The majority of people have joined one of the many street gangs, some have chosen to remain neutral, reopening shops or scavenging. You currently reside in the city of New Washington in the state of Nevada. It is a shell of a city, with very few buildings occupied and cars and vans still littering the road with no one having bothered to move them.


There are four main gangs in the city;

http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__...Vault_logo.png Sertech, a gang specialising in Weapons Manufacture. They don't care who they sell their wares to, as long as they get paid. Members can either be enforcers, scientists or scavengers.

There are also many smaller gangs, all with their own agendas, but I'll leave that to you.

Personality: Leila is wry, arrogant and cynical. She has a passion for technology and enjoys irritating others with sarcasm and mocking humour. She likes 20th and early 21st century rock music and punk fashion.
History: Originally from England, Leila's family moved to America in the hopes of avoiding the plague. Little did they know, all three were already infected and both her parents died on the boat.Leila.s powers appeared sooner than most and she spent the majority of the next year traveling across the country, doing odd jobs for money. She eventually made her way to New Washington where she was offered a job by Sertech.

Weapons/Clothing: Leila has a distinct punk look, wearing a sleeveless denim jacket and a mixture of skirts and jeans. She wears light armour on her left arm and carries a knife and pistol.

Appearance: She appears of medium height, with a relatively thin body. Her hair is raven black, and her green eyes are black underneath it from so many sleepless night induced by insomnia. She wears a rather tattered doctor's coat, with a simple shirt and short pants underneath. Her feets are clad in a pair of leather boots she found off a dead person.

History:

Forgotten.

Most everything was forgotten.

The oldest memory she had was lying beside a room full of corpses, and the screaming women who ran away at the mere sight of her. Frightened herself, she jumped through the window and ran down the empty street screaming.

That was the first memory she could ever remember, and the first most embarrassing moment of her life that she can remember. Carmen was caught by the doctor later, and was brought into the warehouse again. It was used as a depository for the dead at the moment, though why she woke up was a mystery to them. For a few months she lived there, helping the doctor with the living, and helping with the dead whenever needed. However, she had realized that some of the women who was also helping, was disappearing one by one. The doctor seemed to dismiss it by reasoning that they may have returned to their families or relatives. However, one day, she had found a rather well hidden door, behind several crates in the warehouse.

Carmen walked in though the door, unawares that once she walked back out, she would be changed forever.

Occupation: Scavanger, with Stacy's body always able to adapt to any climate or weather, she's been everywhere. She's survived in empty cities.

History: Was left to die in the streets as her body began changing, they threw her in to be burned with other dead bodies, but the fire didn't hurt her.
Weapons/Clothing: Great in hand-to-hand combat. She's beat up any muggers that tried to take her loot, she doesn't take crap even if she looks so small.

Name: Frank Markov
Age: 28
Power(s): Biological Assimilation - Frank has the power to absorb the biomass of others into his own body. Frank can shapeshift into the people he absorbed thus having access to their memories, abilities, vices, DNA, etcetera, or just to desguise himself or assume fake identities. Absorbing others into himself also gave Frank the ability of enhanced regeneration, thus allowing him to heal rapidly from any injury or even grow back a lost limb. He can absorb humans and animals too, but when it comes to transforming in what he absorbed, he can only shapeshift in humans, not animals. Also this ability is pretty gruesome to watch beying performed. Unless you have a strong stomach.

Personality: Frank is a hot-headed, impulsive and strong-minded individual. He dosen't tolerate others insulting him or pushing him around and deals with them imidieatly. He is a also a care-free person and always gives the impression that he dosen't give a damn. He is extremely loyal to his friends and seems to have a sensibility for women who he is always kind and respectful with. Underneath the tough guy shell that he created around himself Frank si actually a good guy, outgoing, open-minded and helpful. But these qualities are rarely shown by him. He is also a little sarcastic.
History: Frank was born in the Unites States in a family of russian imigrants. Not long after the plague started they got infected and died. Frank was infected too but unlike his parents he didn't die. He mutated, developing a strange, and pretty gruesome ability. Found wondering on the streets, the young Frank was taken by an asian-looking man who apparently was very profficient in various fighting styles. Aside from scavenging, Frank spent his days training with the man, who taught him everything he knew. Eventually he got into the world of street fighting, beating up anyone that was placed before him, rapidly becoming one of the best street fighters in town. Frank made a lot of money out of these fights. But he wanted more then that. After months of grueling work, Frank had achieved the unthinkable. He managed to convince all the street fighters in town, along with their managers, that they all should be a part of a gang. Frank called the gang Strongpoint and placed himself as leader, since he was the founder. The gang also included those that were tendering the wounds of fighters, the announcers from the fights and those that were organising the bets. Frank is involved in a relationship with a chinese-american woman called Michelle, two years younger then him. Like Frank she also has powers. She can absorb life force and make it her own.
Weapons/Clothing: Frank wears street clothes: cargo pants, jeans, leather jackets, t-shirts, tank tops, tennis shoes, snickers and many others of the kind. Frank's body is a weapon as he is tranied in MMA, Muay Thai and Muay Boran. When it comes to actual weapons, Frank usually relies on blunt or edged weapons that usually meld to his style. He dosen't like firearms and projectyle-type weapons in general, because they kill too fast and take away all the fun in making the other guy suffer. He carries a pair of two knuckledusters and a combat knife.

Name: Strongpoint
Info: Strongpoint is a rather misterious and low-level gang created three years ago. Eighty percent of the gang is represented by street fighters. While the other twenty percent is represented by those that manage street fighters, announcers, those that take care of the bets and those that tender the wounds that fighters get after their matches. They are not interested in power and control. Actually no one really knows what the agenda of these guys is. Not even their leader and founder...28 year old russian-american street fighter Frank Markov. He claims that he just wanted to unify the street fighting community in the city.

Powers:
Performance Art Intuition - This gives her a range of natural abilities in the 'performing arts', most notably dancing and acting. Though seemingly useless, she has found ways to utilize these talents. Her natural aptitude for acting makes her a flawless liar, and she is able to easily manipulate most people, and she has adapted her affinity for dance into a form of combat, heavily influenced by capoeira.

Personality:
On the surface, she is friendly and sociable. In reality, however, there is little to be known about her motives and ambitions. She is a flawless liar, and can convince most people of just about anything without a problem. She is witty, cunning, and manipulative, and definitely knows how to handle herself, so she is not a force to be trifled with.
Of course, with her bright grin and open welcoming demeanor, hardly a soul knows that.

History:
Neva was born and raised in the slums of New Jersey, and learned the lessons of survival early on in her life. Both of her parents were drug addicts, her mother in the prostitution business, and her father a drug dealer who was eventually shot when he got into a bad deal. With little to rely on and no support from them, Neva learned to steal and swindle, while training her body to be in its best physical condition at all times. She had few attachments, save for one girl that had befriended her. Allison was a typical uptown rich girl, with little understanding of the darker side of her city. When she met Neva, however, she treated the teenager with respect and curiosity, eventually gaining Neva's love and respect.
When the plague began to spread, Allison's family was one of the first to go, though she miraculously survived. Realizing the implications of this, Neva immediately left the rotting city with Allison in tow, and began a long trek across the country. The two found odd jobs here and there, never staying in on place for long, Allison growing stronger as they continued on.
By the time they reached Nevada, Allison had discovered her power to be enhanced memory. Deciding to utilize this, she convinced Neva to settle down, and founded S.W.I.F.T.

Weapons/Clothing: She wears primarily dark clothing, in blacks greys and browns. Usually she can be seen sporting grey layered tank tops, black shorts and combat boots, and a pair of fingerless brown gloves and black arm spats A pair of goggles is usually either dangling around her neck or sitting atop her head, as she has to wear them for protection when she's traveling, as well as a durable leather messenger bag.
She is the most versatile messenger in S.W.I.F.T, capable of high speeds and long distances on foot, while also owning a motorcycle that she found back in Arizona, and has been fixing up ever since.
She tries to keep her weaponry light, usually carrying a pistol at her hip and a combat knife in her boot. When traveling long distances by bike, she often has a rifle slung across her back.

They don't discriminate based on who the messages are from or to, nor do they judge or act upon what the messages contain -- their single purpose is to pass the message on.
