Legend tells of a land far beyond,
Where six mighty powers struggle for dominance.
Legend tells of a land where your nature matters not,
Where all can become figures of legend.
Legend tells of the land of RUNE,
where our destiny awaits.
Aha! This is my new RP, everyone! It is a fantasy RP with a heap of Sci-Fi elements thrown in, and It's Invitation only! Whoo! Before we begin, I would like to point out that this universe runs on a thing TvTropes likes to call 'Rule of Cool,' which basically means that if it's awesome, it's allowed. usually. Anyway, for anyone here right now, let's begin by asking me questions and updating this intro with relevent information Alright? cool. Also, RUNE is the planet. Yes, it is always spelled with all caps.

There are six continents on RUNE, each with a corresponding element.
NOVA: Continent of Light. Nova is the continent of light, but that does not mean it's citizens are any more virtuous than any other continent's. Nova's geographical features include rolling hills, plains of Unusual mirrored grass, crystalline forests, and snowy tundra in the north.
UMBRA: Continent of Darkness. Umbra is the continent of darkness, but that does not mean it's citizens are any more evil than any other continent's. Umbra's geographical features include large forests, massive plains of violet grasses, swamps, and several highlands.
IGNIS: Continent of Fire. Ignis is the only continent with active volcanoes. Ignis's geographical features include a chain of active volcanoes, fields of iron, and little else. there is very little vegetation in Ignis, and whatever plant life you do find is likely to explode.
AQUA: Continent of Water. Aqua is the smallest continent, but Aqua claims ownership of almost all the Islands scattered around RUNE. Aqua's geographical features include Tropical islands, vast Frozen wastes, and several underwater locales.
TERRA: Continent of Earth. Terra is the largest continent, as well as the most geographically diverse. Terra's geographical features include vast forests, large mountain chains, a vast desert, jungles, plains, highlands, and many others.
VENTUS: Continent of Air. Ventus is unique for parts of it being almost mobile, as there are a number of floating islands hovering above it. Ventus's geographical features include Windswept mountains, floating islands, flatlands of metal that crackle with lightning, and valleys plagued by tornadoes.
RUNE's six continents are each governed independently, with a ruler (exact titles vary) selected every two decades from any number of royal families. The given ruler has absolute power over the various areas of his/her/it's continent. Each continent has a number of noble families that are always competing to be selected for leadership. If a ruler dies, the family maintains control of the continent for the remaining time, and may replace the ruler with anyone from their own ranks. many smaller territories can be found within any given continent, but all of them answer to their continents absolute ruler.
EXCEPTION: AQUA is democratic, with a council elected every five years. Along with someone akin to a president they call the Chieftain, a remnant of the days when they were a loose affiliation of tribes.
While not necessarily important, everyone on RUNE uses the standard naming conventions of a first name and a last name. Noble families, however have an additional name tacked on the end denoting which family they come from. every royal family is named for a gemstone of some kind.
SIREN: The sirens are an enigmatic race that can be found all over the world. While little is known of them exactly, they are known to be from a city that floats aimlessly in another dimension, linked to several small villages in each of the continents. A siren can be mistaken for an elf at first with their slender frames and pointed ears, but their true nature becomes apparent at short distances. Sirens have unusual eyes, featuring sideways bar type pupils, similar to that of a goat or a frog. Most sirens are female, with about one in ten being male. Sirens are known primarily for their unique brand of magic, which incorporates song, but are also known for their advanced technology. Sirens live about as long as dwarves do, reaching maturity at about 14.
PALLADIAN: Palladians are another mysterios race, even moreso than the sirens. They are characterized by their gray skin, patterned with numerous sweeping black markings and very light, almost white hair, and bright yellow eyes with black sclera. Palladians are varied in skillsets and professions, but they tend to be a bit faster than most. Every palladian can use healing magic. why? nobody
knows. Palladians are very rare, with no one particular home continent, and they have comparable lifespans to elves.
these races are less common, and are described in less detail.
LIZARDFOLK: A catch-all term to describe anyone that has reptilian features. Lizardfolk are extremely varied, so attempts to classify them as a race often fail.
DEMON: Various lesser demons live on RUNE, most of which were originally from the abyss, but probably came to RUNE when they were exiled from the abyss by their demonlord master's. as a result, the demons that most find living alongside humans are of a more mild-mannered temperament than their counterparts in the abyss. Again, demon is a catch-all term for denizens of the abyss, with many different types of individual creatures.
DEVIL: Devils are scheming, as opposed to their destruction-loving demon counterparts in the abyss. Nevertheless, Devils came to the world in a similar manner to the demons. There are again many different kinds of devils, including Imps, Succubi, and the like.
ORC: The standard variety of orc found in D&D apply here. most are found in Ignis.
GOBLIN: again, standard D&D goblins. found just about anywhere.
LYCAN: there exist lycanthropes of many varieties. a good rule of thumb is that if it's a mammal, there is probably a lycan variant of it. Lycans cannot have children and must infect human's to procreate.
VAMPIRE: Not a race on it's own, vampirism can be spread to any mammalian race. Lycans cannot be infected by vampirism. Vampires cannot have children the standard way.
There are many more races that I may not have necessarily thought of, so feel free to ask permission if it is not listed.
There are a number of deities on RUNE. All worship on RUNE is pantheistic, so if someone worships diety A, he does not necessarily deny the existence of diety B, he merely favors diety A. There are many dieties and interpretations vary, so very little information is given.
LYS: Goddess of Light and the Sun.
MOR: God of Darkness and the Moon.
BRANN: God of Flame and Strength.
FJELL: Goddess of Earth and Family.
VANN: God of Water and Intellect.
LUFT: Goddess of Air and Luck.
JURA: God of Order. Sometimes called LAW.
RIVE: Goddess of Chaos. Sometimes called ANARCHY.
SALUS: God of Good and Kindness.
LUES: Goddess of Evil and Tyranny.
AMENTIA: God of Madness.
NYX: Goddess of Death.
