In the Dark of the Night
Elizabeth carefully picked up one of her up her bejeweled hairpins, then carefully set it down again. The color did not match her shirt. She finally decided on the pale pink one. It would contrast nicely with her flaxen hair. She finished by spritzing with some lilac perfume and and stood back to admire herself in the mirror. The deep rose garment complemented her golden-tinged skin and her nails were freshly buffed. A stray tendril escaped the confines of her updo, but she didn't notice. She was more worried of the weather. It was frigid outside, and was starting to snow. Was he going to be late? Would he even show up...?
