For those of you making these damned minecraft forum games....
For fucks sake, get your shit together.
Use a fucking grid to keep track of movement distance, and what gets taken out. A grid over a tree could be utilized for "taking out chunks" effectively eliminating sections and allowing it to be shown that such a thing was done.
Also make "copy&paste"able terrain. C&P trees, grass, what the fuck ever. Hell, you can even fill the grid in with different pretty colors to signify different types of fucking terrain. Make C&P enemies, so you're not constantly having to Paint them in, or whatever the fuck software you use for your pretty fucking pictures.
Brainstorm this shit, determine how much people can carry, where you're going to put resources and shit, how you're going to tell people that they found stuff, what they have to do ( I.E., scan, fucking observe, shake your dick, whatever ). Use Captions for everything, be they detailed or brief summaries so people don't get confused. Develop the leveling system before you start these things. Dig up some earth? Get a point towards digging.
You can come up with some really complicated movement/action points shit. Start out with 16 AP. Each square of movement walked takes 1 AP. Digging a block of
dirt takes 6 AP. At 100 points of fucking digging, it only takes 3, which effectively means you can dig quicker. Same goes for mining, or chopping down trees.
Elendra brought a cool thing to this forum. Somebody needs to make this shit happen so Spam has something interesting to mark it besides shit talking and waves of ass hurt.

Also fucking tools. Wooden shovel -1 AP needed to Dig. Iron Shovel -2 AP to dig. No Gold, that's just fucking retarded. Who the fuck digs with a golden shovel?
I've wanted to get all these ideas out there, but never really got the chance. Also I noticed Foxes tried one that looked a lot like Minecraft but gave up 2 pages into it. Which involved most of it just people joining.
All of spam pretty much wants to be involved in something like this, and with good reason. It's cool. But it kinda sucks seeing them die out because the OP gets bored of it, or the players start doing random shit that gets hard to keep track of. So good planning ahead of time and tools which make it easier on the OP, along with guidelines which make it easier on the players will keep it going. I hope to someday see something like this still going strong, and passed onto new members of RPG.
On another note, if the artwork is done in a easy enough fashion ( yours isn't quite as simple Blue, I know I couldn't replicate it ), then you could have more than one person guiding the Game. It'll take some of the burden off if you have a co-OP that you can trust to do things right working with you. And this goes to all of you who do these things.
