Rise of Homo Superior (DC) (Interest Check)
Superheroes have always been a tiny subset. They've been numerous enough to protect us, but not numerous enough to pose a danger to mankind as a whole. That has just changed. We don't know why, but on March 14, 2014, tens of thousands of people suddenly developed amazing powers. It's not the metagene that gives many their powers, it's not nanotechnology or anything of the sort, and the world's greatest mystics have yet to find a supernatural explanation. Some are using this power to be the new Supermen and Wonder Women, others to be Luthors and Circes. The governments of the world are responding in various ways, issuing new laws, and even drafts. One thing has been discovered, though: no two people have exactly the same power.
In this game, you will be a person who has gained a power. You only get one, (power, not character) so choose wisely. Gadgets are allowed, but some explanation must be given. In your histories, presume anything you wish. The RP takes place several moths after the power-wave, so teams may have been formed, battles may have happened, and people may have died. You must be an OC, though you are free to interact with established characters. Heroes, villains, and anything in between are allowed. Post if you're interested!
