Let Undeath be thine Curse
Do you love dark, medieval settings? How about mystery – in the form of a plot that you have to actively uncover? Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be undead? To think, to act, to feel like an Undead would? Are you prepared to journey into a dangerous world and risk your character’s permanent death on the sole promise of a fickle spirit?
Then maybe The Darkest Journey is for you.
In short, this roleplay puts you into Morwenth – a dying world that is slowly slipping into oblivion – in the role of an Undead. The Undead here are different to what you may have come to expect from their kind; they are not the dumb, empty husks you would think they are, on the contrary. They are no less intellectual than the living and they ask themselves the same, age old questions: Who am I? Why am I here? Where do I go? A big part of this roleplay is introspective character exploration. I want to encourage you and your characters to dig deep into themselves and the world around them to discover the answer to the questions above. Is there a reason for you to be what you are, where you are? Do you have such a thing like a destiny? And above all else – what are you really? Many have walked this path before you, not a few of which have strayed from it and turned insane. Can you endure?
Moreover, your characters will be bound to the quest of a mysterious spirit one way or another, for her actions and those of her brave knights will shatter the foundations of Morwenth and leave no one untouched. Whether brave warrior or puny coward, old sage or freshly arisen, none will be able to look away from the fruit of Lady Moonshine’s labor when it comes to blossom. As one of her knights – or perhaps one of her many foes? – your characters will shape the future of Morwenth in ways you could not imagine, but beware: the Darkest Journey is not afraid of terminating a character whose end has come. Any player who is part of this RP can lose their character due to unfortunate circumstances, but is also allowed to make a new one without having to re-apply or shenanigans. Some people hang quite closely on their characters, and I feel you should be aware that a given character, when ill equipped to deal with the burdens of his darkest journey, may not live to see the end no matter how much you like them. One more detail: The premise for your character, should you choose to create one and join us, will differ from that of the original cast, though mostly by starting location. More details on that in the OOC after you've expressed your potential interest.
Last but not least, I have but one request: Please, help me make the RP more active. If you apply, I ask that you post at least once a week. I don’t need super-long or super-frequent posts, as I can’t promise the same performance myself either, but as you may see we’re quite a bit beneath that threshold as of now, and I’d like to change that. Need to, in fact, if this journey is to ever end, which I hope it can one day, and you might be the crucial element to make it happen.
With all that said, I hope I have caught your interest and, if I did, I beckon you to check out the OOC and IC for additional details. For further questions you may post here, in the OOC, shoot me a PM – whatever works for you.
