Basically i wanted to make an RP about Metal Gear Solid. This one would be set in a larger version of shadow moses where the good guys(played by you!) would probably have to use stealth to fight NPC's, villians(played by you!) and then the final boss, liquid (played by me!). All characters wouldn't have to be canon and can range up to Raidens technological point. So that means cyborg ninjas are allowed but they have to be less OP than Gray Fox. Anyone interested?
Who wouldn't be interested in Metal Gear. I've got my box all set to crawl under!
Maybe a little more revelation as to the story? What if the terrorists do are trying to recover the mass driver from Metal Gear Rex in order to launch nuclear weapons over borders. Maybe the covert ops team can't bring guns in because the terrorists have access to all NATO biometric devices so they must try and procure them on-site. (Only the terrorists also have bio-locked guns so only the occasional weapon can be taken)
I have never understood or accepted the continual on-site acquisition ideas. I can see you getting ambushed and all your stuff taken then escape validating OSA but not 'you are the most highly trained operative available... here is a toothpick. Hell he gets cigarettes but never had the idea to light things on fire for a distraction or Molotov like weapon?
Well, the idea of starting with little in the way of weapons and equipment was to implement something like a "levelling up" process.
In the lore of the series, the idea was that all military weapons by that time had the equivalent of GPS tracking transceivers and electronic firing pins. Thus, carrying a weapon into the operational area would immediately give away your position.
Of course, that begs the question why not use some Vietnam era weaponry from some collector or such :) It also makes you ask the question, why is it that there are a half dozen unregistered weapons floating around for you to find on this enemy base? You just have to turn a blind eye the question and just play the game.
