I did not expect to make another RP so soon, but the idea is great and this will mostly be fun-oriented. I am looking for a High Casual writing level, but deep deep backstory will not be an essential part of this RP. My main goal is an anime-like action/fantasy/sci-fi fun experience. Without further ado, the idea:

In the first few days of 2013, select individuals all across the globe received a promotional package: a specialized portable music player, wireless earphones and an access code to an exclusive online music store - with three free downloads! The card explained they had been selected for the closed beta testing of the site and as a thank you gift were offered the MP3 players. You were one of these people. You hurried to your room or office, plugged in the device and made your way to the site, downloading your three favourite songs using the promo code provided. Ping! Done in a flash and loaded onto the player. Content, you went to bed, anxiously awaiting the morning to try out your new device.
Some of you may have been jogging, others on a bus, or going about any other morning ritual wich includes earphones and an MP3 player. That's when everything changed. As the music played you were swamped with a sense of newfound power. All of a sudden armor, weapons, vehicles manifested, blueish and seeming holographic, but quite physically palpable. Each item conferred it's owner their own specific powers they had no idea how to control. You panicked and stopped the player. The item fadded away and the chaos subsided. When you came to rip off the earbuds and toss them away with the device, you found they had dug into your skull right behind your ear. The MP3 player would only fling back into your hand, as if magnetically, try as you might to throw it away.

The inspiration is basically those random moments of "make believe" we still get flung into when our favourite song is blasting away in your headphones. I can't be the only one that randomly imagines having X, Y or Z power in some or another action scene with background battle music playing as I walk down the street. Embrace that inner geekiness when considering this RP. Your character will have have the item and power for as long as the music plays. You choose a music genre which is like your "class" and should be represented in your power. Of course, this is wildly interpretational. But the songs you choose need to be within the genre. Each song defines a battle style using the power.
Characters will band together and search for the creators of the website, to find you who did this to them and why. There will be blocks and twists on the way. You will meet "The DJ", who can remix your songs to change your powers. You can find new songs to add to your collection and diversify your battle styles. You will also be able to create mash ups, combining your powers with another person to create cataclysmic results.
The point here is to have a fun RP with cool background music.
Some item/power examples:
- Mecha upper-body armor covering arms, shoulders and head. The power is launching diffrent projectiles. Classical music was chosen as the "class". A light and bouncy melody like one of Vivaldi's seasons can be grenade launching...
- Wings and a cross-shaped staff. The power is wielding "light" as energy beams, defense walls, etc. Trance music was chosen as the "class". One song gives the ability to shoot energy beams and another generate an impenetrable defensive coating of light...
I will add more info once I get enough interest. Once again: looking for good quality writing, but this is mostly action based, so you can keep it light. The real point here is to mesh action-packed storytelling with enriching and entertaining background music. Feel free to choose ANYTHING... as long as it's tasteful. Obviously songs are not always censored, but swear words are half the lyrics, you might want to reconsider.
