Resonance of Spirit
the year is 2050 and magic is no longer a fiction. people use magic as much as they use technology, but there are special types that only some can use. specifically, people in their mid to late teens have an ability called Resonance. this power cannot be used alone, however, as it combines the Self of two people into one form, creating a powerful weapon.
in each Resonance, there is a Leader and a Lender. the Leader is the one who casts the spell and lends the weapon it's main form. if the leader's attribute is a sword, every time he is a leader he will draw a sword. the Lender is the one who allows the Leader to use their heart, giving the weapon it's power. if the Lender has the attribute of fire, the weapon will use fire to strike in some way. the shape and use is determined by the Leader at creation, the Lender gives it power.
each person capable of Resonance has two attributes, one for Leading and one for Lending.
the power of the weapon is equal to the strength of the Resonance Rate, or your bond to the person. a friend will always give you more power than a stranger. the rate is determined by the Leader, so counts on their bond with the Lender.
what does Resonance look like?
first, the leader activates their circle, which spreads out on the ground with them at the center. then the Lender either steps into the circle or is already there to offer their power, usual saying something along the lines of "i accept" or "i give", and the Leader pulls their weapon out of the air between them.
what are the limitations of Resonance?
first, Resonance is a mutual agreement. the Leader must initiate the spell, but the Lender must freely give their power. second, the Leader must have some sort of positive bond with the Lender, whether it be a family tie, or a friendship, or a romance.
character sheets are pretty basic except for the Attributes. if you wish, you can also choose the shape of the magic you use as a leader, though this has no real purpose other than looking cool.

Setting: a city in America
Factions: there are two factions among those who can perform Resonance, the Daemons and the Guardians.
Daemons: self proclaimed saviors of the world, this group attempts to overthrow the current governmental systems of the world and put themselves in power, believing that they know best because they can use Resonance.
Guardians: the Guardians have taken on the duty of stopping the Daemons, protecting the current world order. they fight against the attacks of Daemon agents where ever they can.
not all teens belong to these groups. most teens just go about normal lives.

i thought it would be cool to have something in the group similar to Facebook, so i came up with NetConnect, a social networking app run by the school our characters go to. that doesn't mean that you have to go to this school, a lot of the Daemon characters won't, but if you do you can use that. the lead character of the Daemons can set up their own if they want.

Personality: Artemis is calm and serious when he needs to, but also likes to have fun. he can be found with friends most of the time. he is extremely loyal and will protect his friends' lives with his own if he needs to.
Name: Aidan Galen
Appearance: gray eyes, black hair, usually in casual clothes (graphic tee and jeans) Always wears a necklace with a partially flattened bullet as a charm
Aidan is extremely intelligent, but at the same time is very emotional and easily gets caught up in moments of passion. He's extremely caring and will do nearly anything to protect those he cares for.
He spent his childhood in school and watching his parents work in a hospital, and so had developed an interest in medicine at a very young age. In particular, he studied the makeup and various systems of the human body. He later on developed magical powers and showed remarkable affinity for healing. When he was 15, a small group of people attacked and kidnapped Aidan, intending to force him to heal one of their friends. A rescue party later found him locked in a cell in a pool of blood. He'd been shot in the spine and would have been completely paralyzed had it not been for his magic. After a series of surgeries, he regained the ability to walk at 16. He still has a series of large scars on his back from both the surgeries and the gunshot. He enrolled himself in self defense classes afterwards and was taught how to handle himself. He also learned to use dual swords, with which he went on to compete in sparring tournaments. To remind himself of the adversity he had overcome, he now wears the bullet taken from his spine as a necklace.

1. you forgot personality. 2. the Leader and Lender powers aren't meant to be specific, they are a general outline for the Leader to work off of. Artemis's scythe could look like anything, be any wight, any size. and the speed he gives as a Lender can be used in any way, to increase reaction time, physical speed or whatever

alright, i forgot something. when you make your character, put down a field for what faction they're in. you don't have to be in one, but if you are put it down. i'll change mine now.
