Achenaran Imperial Academy: Training Today's Youth to be Tomorrow's Leaders

Colonel Williams stepped up to the podium. In front of him lay the various young men and women of the Achenaran Imperial Academy. These youths were selected from the best and brightest, each of them scoring among the top marks in their respective classes. The motivation to do well was quite clear... as behind him lay the Achenaran Warship Janissary, a fully equipped military training vessel. These cadets were to be the crew of this state of the art warship.

He was supposed to give a speech to the cadets. But he knew that long drawn-out speeches were boring. So he decided to keep it fairly brief.

"Young men and women of the Imperium," he addressed them. "You have been chosen from the best and brightest of today's youth. Through training and experience, you will become the leaders of tomorrow's soldiers, the finest officers of the Imperial Armada. If you felt your training so far has been difficult, you don't know what difficult is. If you felt your training so far was too easy, well... I hope your next experience doesn't disappoint you."

"Behold," he gestured to his ship. "The Imperial Warship Janissary. Many of you are a part of the Janissary Program yourselves... I see so many teenage faces that I find it hard to believe otherwise. Do the Armada proud, and take care of this training vessel. While it is officially an Academy ship, do not be fooled... it is equipped with the most advanced weapons and defensive technologies available, as well as some experimental technologies not yet implemented in the Armada at large."

"Serve the Imperial Armada proudly. For the Imperium and the Emperor!" he finished.

The gathered students mirrored his final words, as was the custom, and the assembly hall as one shouted proudly, "FOR THE IMPERIUM AND THE EMPEROR!"
