Calamity - Mercy for The Devil (Interest Check)
This roleplay would be set two centuries after God and The Devil had attempted to best each other with their own personal armies.
demons and angels proved to be too well matched for one another, so God bestowed the power of Angels onto humanity, creating The Devil Hunters, or Angelus, a group of people who capture and kill demons in the name of holiness.
However, the devil wasn’t to be bested, and told his demons to breed with the human population, creating the Demonkin, half demons who can take human form whilst manipulating demonic powers.
The problem is, they were sleeper agents, set to awaken only when The Devil returned to earth and tried to claim it, something that didn’t happen for two hundred years.
When it finally begins, the Demonkin are too fond of the earth, and don’t wish to destroy it.
Both Angelus and Demonkin are playable sides, but their goal is the same:
Both want to stop the demons escaping from hell, before they destroy the human race and conquer the globe.
However, the Angelus are untrusting of Demonkin, and want to extinguish them too, so Demonkin are forced to duck hunters whilst slaying their own kind.
All the while, they need to maintain their identities in society, and deal with the stresses that come with being half demon, such as an urge to commit crimes and a disproportionate moral compass.
All the while, the Angelus must maintain their identities as public servants: Politicians, news anchors, journalists and television personalities, quietly controlling the world in search of demons.
Their trick is similar to Demonkin, by which I mean they can take angelic form just as Demonkin can become demons.
However, their transformation is artificial: To make up for the lack in certain perks this causes, they also gain a few, making a nice little contrast between the species.
So come along, and join in! This will be part action, part slice of life, and I'm hoping it’ll be lots of fun!
And the opening post is pretty much already written, I just need to add some finishing details and we'll be good to go.
