It's 2102 and humanity is on the verge of new era, a era of exploration which will launch them to the edges of our galaxy and even further, but everything started when they commissioned their first ships dedicated to exploring the galaxy. The Explorer class, the third ship class build by the Earth Alliance and it's military counter part the Earth Defensive Forces, was planed to be made in 2100, together with the Defender Class Combat Ship and Settler Class Colonization Ship, but there were major setbacks during construction and the first two ships of the class EAS "Explorer" and EAS "Odyssey" were finally put into service just a few days ago, on January 7th 2102.
A selected crew was boarded into the ships and the finest technology of EAS was build into the ships. Now the story of those two ships will change the way humans looked at the Universe, forever.
The Earth Alliance formed during the mid 21st century in a world thrown into chaos by a catastrophic terrorist nuclear attack which wiped out a large portion of humanity. After a global war in which EA emerged victorious in 2061. humanity pointed all of it's resources towards space. In the next forty years humans colonized the Solar system, establishing cities or outposts on all planets in the system and started the long and hard process of terraforming Mars and Venus. Finally in the last decade of the century two major scientific breakthroughs pushed humanity out of it's own Solar system with much greater speed; those two inventions were the Antimatter Reactor which provided an abundance of power, out of a rare and stable from of Antimatter found mostly in asteroids called Antimatter crystals, and the Wormhole Generator which could harness this power to allow travel to distant stars trough artificially made wormholes.
Populated Planets/Stars
Mercury - mining communities
Venus - orbital stations & stratospheric flying cities
Earth - orbital stations & heavy surface urbanization
Moon - orbital station & clustered surface habitats
Mars - orbital stations & scattered surface habitats
Asteroid belt - several asteroids have been turned into cities
Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus & Neptune - larger moons are populated(scattered surface habitats)
Pluto & similar objects - Military outposts
Centauri solar system - A number of surface settlements, military outposts and space stations
Barnard's Star solar system - A number of surface settlements, military outposts and space stations
Wolf 359 solar system - A number of surface settlements, military outposts and space stations, most distant star reached by humans

Bio: Admiral Spencer is one of the EDF's top admirals and the founder of the EDF Space Command. After he was replaced by Admiral Tayakoshi as the chief of EDF Space Command he was first put in command of the Earth Home Fleet until the completion of EAS "Odyssey" and EAS "Explorer", which in according to the deal between EDF and EA one was to carry a military representative (the other is to carry a politician).
Personality: Admiral Spencer is a serous man on the job but a joker and cheerful person outside of it as well as a lover of good food and alcohol.
Position on EAS "Odyssey": Supervisor of EAS "Odyssey" and a diplomatic representative of Earth.
Well ... if you want to join you just need to make a CS.

I need Character Sheets and more ppl!
So if you have friend which like Science Fiction call them in!
The sooner they come a large array of positions will be free.
Also who ever gets to be the captain of the EAS "Odyssey" can become a Co-GM in charge of the ship's crew if he wishes so.

i had this brain wave just now and this looks like a good place to use it. i was wondering if i could play an AI character? if so here's the sheet
Name: *Angel
Age: 5
Appearance: http://www.visualphotos.com/photo/2x..._BLD018712.jpg
Bio: *Angel is the working AI on the Odessy. she was made specifically for this ship and has several additional features for the task, including a superconductive processing unit and the personality imprint of a human.
Personality: *Angel has true human emotions, or a nearly perfect imitation. she tends to be kind and understanding, and tries to help whenever she can.
Position on EAS "Odyssey": working AI.

You will have to change a few things, manly the advancement level of the AI. Al trough human-like AI's have been produced in a few research laboratories on Earth most EA Starships utilize the Standard AI Issue Three which, although four time smarter and ten more faster then any human brain, has limited emotion capabilities, mostly to avoid the AI going rouge (although the Ikozuka processing circuits lowers that chance to less then one in a 10^45 cases), the limited emotional capabilities are the lack of experiencing extreme emotions, like rage, amazement or depression, which could lead to emotional instability or a large derivation in the performance of the AI.
Also you should note that most EA AIs are named after mythological gods or great thinkers. For example the AI in charge of Earth Global Shipyard is the AI 19 "Wat" while the one in charge of EAS "Defender" is named AI 25 "Ares". The number in front of the name is the number which the AI has in series. The AI of "Odyssey" is the 44th to be commissioned in the SAI#3 series.

well, my idea was an AI with a human personality imprint. if i can't use that there's no point in me joining. i'll just look somewhere else to play. it's a legitimate thing though. they copy the brainwave pattern of a person and digitize it, making an AI with human emotions.

That is called "digitalizing" and is when for a certain reason one's "soul" is turned into data.
Well I could have the Explorer class carry the prototype Standard AI Issue Four which has a full emotional specter (thanks to the Narutaki processing system and emotional circuit), but it's drawback is the lower performance, is only as smart as a human genius and has only five time faster processing power then a human.

my idea wasn't to take a living person and turn them into an AI, it was to scan a living persons brain and use that to give an existing AI emotions. the difference is the one is immoral and most likely illegal because it involves "killing" the person.
