Name: Daniel "Danny," Alexander, York
Gender: Male, Hetero
Behind in the image is a portal to the plane of mind, being swarmed by demons.
He has short brown hair (though for a boy it's more medium length) but in most lighting conditions it appears black. His eyes are a slightly bluish grey. (though I guess technically it should be a very greyish blue) His preferred clothing is T-shirts and cargo shorts. He rarely gets cold enough to need additional layers or long sleeves/pants. He has somewhat pale skin, due to burning rather than tanning in the sun.
Biography: Born to a middle class family in the United States, specifically Oregon. They moved when he was 6 to Canada. He discovered video gaming in elementary school, forming bonds of friendship with kids that had the same hobby. Throughout his early years, he typically wound up the class "Show-off," finishing work first, answering a lot of questions and things like that. Some people liked him for his intelligence, and the teachers thought he was a great student.
Going into middle and high school, where advanced classes are offered, he found himself challenged for the first time in his life. And other's entered his school who could rival him in intelligence. Having breezed through the early education with absolutely zero effort, having to actually study and put forth work disrupted him slightly, and no longer being the absolute top of the heap academically was something unusual for him. By the last years of high school he got the hang of it and brought his grades back up to high A levels.
By then, he realized he never really found out what he wanted to do with his life, he wasn't quite prepared to leave his parents yet, and he didn't know what to major in when he got to college. He decided to work for two years, get some "real world experience" as his father called it. His knowledge in video games and technology landed him an easy retail job at an electronics store, and Danny has been a valued employee for the past year.
He is definitely no closer to knowing what he wants to do with his life though. Preferring to just keep working and living with his parents, he knows he needs to get out and find a college education, but he just can't. In some ways, he hasn't grown up yet. For several years now, Danny has had a few psychic experiences, prophetic dreams and mind reading mostly. They are entirely out of his control, working only when they want to, but he has seen them right often enough to know to trust them.
Personality: Lazy, and a little self centered. Those are the easiest ways to describe him. That isn't all Danny is of course, he values his friends and family extremely highly. More importantly though, he wants to be an influence on the world. He just has no idea how to go about this, the world is vastly bigger than he realizes. This is exemplified through his video gaming habit, each video game allows him to experience things that never occur in the real world and experience them consequence free. The real world is of course not like a game. Though the Plane of Mind may change that based on his influence sometimes...
Interests: Danny is an avid video gamer and a bit of a musician on the side. He's had several years of classical piano teaching and is currently self taught. His gaming extends to nearly all genres and he picks up new ones quickly. He enjoys being challenged in games, both by the system and other players. Chess, Risk, and other games that require thought are also favored, but somewhat rarely played by him. That doesn't mean he should be underestimated though. In music, Danny likes fast tempos and major scale melodies, "happy" music basically. But also complex music, with lots of overlapping rhythms and different instruments. His skill with gaming also has an interesting side effect. Danny has a high level of control over his dreams. Very often "Waking Up" and taking full control. Thus he knows about his inner world and it's nature, but as of the story beginning, has not found the door yet.
Skills: Very good at strategy and mind games, he is also fairly observant, able to figure out card tricks and the like rapidly when he focuses. Memory of details is also good, but sort of random, sometimes he can instantly recall the details and sometimes not. It mostly depends on if he is interested by the subject in question. When bored, he is unlikely to be of much help. Danny is good with video games and can imitate music he hears fairly well. His inner form grants him instinctual skills with flight and some with claw-to-claw combat.
Possessions: Smartphone, and a watch. His watch was an old gift from his father, and his phone reflects his technically knowledged side.
Inner World Sheet.
Name: The Mall
Description: It's a shopping mall. It is for the most part entirely empty of other beings, but occasionally there will be random people there. After seeing it in more than a few dreams, Danny came to realize it as a reflection of his mind. Since then, it started developing a few consistent details. Normally an infinite space with endless unlabeled shops that he never focuses on and a few he does. There are two permanent fixtures now. First off is a room he calls the "Tavern," a restaurant that generally serves whatever he wishes, and fashioned after a fantasy tavern. It's location is identical to the location of the video game store in the actual mall he visits at times. Since he rarely goes to the mall in the real world, he often wonders why his mind shows it as such. The other permanent fixture is the pretzel stand. Always serving giant pretzels of course, a favorite of his. More than once, he has encountered "projections" in the mall, usually at the tavern. Taking the form of family and friends usually. They give him some advice on his life.
The door is located outside The Mall. Because the Mall apparently stretches on forever. He has never actually thought of going outside of it. If he did, he would find an empty grassland and his door to the Plane of Mind.
Inner Form sheet
Name: Draco, or Dragon.
His scales are colored in blues and light greys, rather than the bronze and black shown in the image. Size wise his inner form translates to roughly eight feet tall. Small for a Dragon, but also a happy medium between total power and not being thrown off balance by a significant size change.
Themes: First off, Danny is self centered, and Dragons are the definition of ego. He has power, power to change things around him. But he also appears dangerous, a creature you wouldn't want to mess with, as a sort of way to shut others out. The most important thing though, is Wings. The essence of freedom in his mind. Able to go anywhere and not bound by gravity. Freedom to do absolutely whatever he wants. Fire is consuming, a destructive force but also a useful one. It's other applications represent his strong mind and how it can be used either for his benefit or to benefit all.
Abilities: First of all, the physical. He is extremely strong, capable of flying with little effort, and practically covered in weapons. His scales overlap in a feather-like pattern, but are extremely sharp, like little razor blades. Like a shark, they are smooth in the direction they flow, but sharp in the opposite direction. His teeth are sharp too, as well as claws, his claws aren't too big and mostly merge with the digit, allowing him to use his hands as normal. On the feet, a single, raptor-like talon grows, larger and sharper than the others.
Magically, he can breathe fire, but that is it. He has magical potential, but it doesn't come easy to him and must be learned.
Personality: Given the ability to basically do whatever he wants. He is brave, reckless, and arrogant. The other significant change is that he has the mind of a Dragon, with a different set of instincts and other changed qualities. On the whole, he isn't changed all that much, besides amplifying his current flaws even more.
Trinket: A new watch, with a cellphone like interface. Like all trinkets, it has a basic set of capabilities, opening portals to the Plane and detecting portals. But it has a technological bent to them. Based on menus and such.
