U: [Assist Independent Forces at Auckland]
The militia of Auckland is requesting assistance repelling the extremist assault on the city of Auckland. We are heavily out gunned and lack the resources right now to hold the city. We don’t usually request mercenaries to assist us in our fights, but we are presently desperate with the rest of our main force in Hawaii. We heard you don’t usually disappoint. We hope to hear a favorable reply soon.

More than, 60% of the world’s military force is made up of independent mercenary groups. Most governments have either collapsed or have fallen to the whims of corporate dominance. There are few countries that try to keep the fire of nationalism alive, though the allure of big business is all too appealing. Each company works to acquire resources on the partially war-torn Earth. People find a living where they can, working in the huge energy and recourse plants owned by the companies, providing goods and services for those who work in these resource super structures.
Although people have long dreamt of the stars, they find it hard to grasp the stars. Large space colonies were constructed in the late 2800’s to help with the terrible over crowding of the cities and they continue to float around the earth, holding much of the planets population. There is still hope amongst the stars, though this hope if for those who are both rich and restless. Alien species have traveled into our solar system, however at great cost to their own resources. Unlike in many science fiction novels, the aliens did not come with some sort of extremely superior technology and wished to conquer our tiny planet. They came wary from space travel, offering signs of peace and a simple knowledge of how they achieved long-range space travel. An element, usually native to planets with higher gravities or at the cores of dead suns, holds the potential of high amounts of energy. Unfortunately, the element is hard to come by in our solar system, and many of the alien ships came with empty drives. The companies welcomed the new species with open arms, offering jobs and living space for the travelers. Although their cultures were extremely different to ours, the races assimilated quite simply into society.
Day to day, mercenaries are hired by the companies and countries all trying to survive and expand on our tiny little planet. These mercenaries are highly skilled fighters, usually using the newest and most expensive weapons, vehicles, drones, and gadgets. Some mercs may try to stay loyal to a certain company, while others weigh the moral pros and cons of the various missions. Some may just in it for the money. Each mercenary’s reasons are his or her own; however they all have to make a living on this planet. We are pretty much earthbound anyway…
Order of Bellator Sacerdos: This order of “Warrior Priests” fight to expand their idea of the “Kingdom of Heaven.” Much like the crusaders and missionaries of the past, this extremist group goes to conquer lands in the name of God. Normally this group would not have been a problem, however their first assault was on the Vatican, making sure to capture the treasury. The city was sacked and the Pope was killed, along with much of the Church’s structure. Soon after, the group used the money they acquired to forge an extremely bulky, yet strong armor. The armor limits the wearer’s mobility, however they can take a large amount of punishment. Standard ammunition will usually not pierce the hard plates of these walking tanks. “Those who show their faith may also adore our warrior’s garb.”
FA (Foundations of the Americas): This multi-trillion dollar company, birthed from the large companies of both North and South America. Their research and development has many different sectors and divisions handling many technologies. Armors, weapons, and implants tend to be extremely balanced, not preferring on style of combat. Operators, who use their armors, tend to be able to adapt to many different environments with little trouble. A large amount of the company’s recourses goes toward taking on their largest competition, Stirgo Science Technology. The company commonly hires mercenaries to try to secure a larger foothold in the economy.
Stirgo Science Technology: This European company, although notably smaller than most of it’s competitors, concentrates on efficiency. Factories and power stations run by Stirgo usually produce double production, compared to one of its corner parts. Their armor designs take on the same ideals, being sleek, energy efficient and extremely mobile. Their newest model is a revolution in both weaponry and energy efficiency, manipulating the suit’s excess energy as weapon to be wielded. The suit’s potential is still being unlocked, but operators have been able to create shields and even large blasts of force. Stirgo continually uses the mercenary system to keep their small bit of economy intact.
Algebra (formally Eqbal): Algebra, based in former India, has had a rocky past to say the least. A string of heavy losses casted them dearly and almost drove them into bankruptcy and destruction. But by the closing days of the 29th century Algebra had rounded the corner and it’s once massive manpower had returned stronger than ever. Algebra relies on mercenaries for most of its engagements and focuses most of its resources on production and development. Because of this only has a moderate personal army only one known armored fortress. They specialize in light to light medium stealth and CQC gear including energy blades, active camouflage, sensors, SMG's, and shotguns. Algebra also produces light mechs, aircraft, and other vehicles. While they do make cheap gear you could burn a hole in your pocket on some of their higher-end models.

VITACOM: A sister company of Stirgo Science Technology, VITACOM, as its name suggests, is a medically based company born from the North of Europe. They commonly study the human condition and seek ways to improve it. Of course, innovation sometimes comes at the price of ethics. Orphans usually serve as perfect vessels to run experiments for anything, from genetics to high-end implants. Many cannot speak for the mental state of the orphans, since they tend to remain silent and generally only speak when required. Many of these orphans become mercenaries when the come of age, thinking that their pains may give them an edge on the battlefield.
Bernard Felix Fanatical: Founded in 2732 ‘BFF’ quickly rose to become one of the largest companies in existence originating out of China. Though not what the once were, BFF is still holds more than enough on the battlefield and in their coffers to strike fear anyone unlucky enough to become a target of their aggression. Boasting at least nine naval fleets, three armored fortresses, a number of fearsome space craft, and several “orbital assets” those mercenaries lucky enough to be in their pocket are WELL taken care of. Bernard Felix Fanatical specializes in some of the most high-end and precise weapons in existence though they tend to be bulky and expensive. They strive for perfections and craft their armor's to be flawless.

MARB (Mercenary Assignment and Ranking Board): Soon after the mercenary system became more and more popular, companies and mercenaries alike wanted a services that allowed mercenaries to make informed decisions on what jobs they were taking as well as companies wanted to know the reputations and general information on the person they were hiring. MARB was created as a result of this. MARB itself is a partially automated system the constantly ranks mercenary activities while looking for potential jobs. This large server is located on a satellite colony, housing a extremely advanced AI. A merc’s MARB ranking allows companies to see how efficiently a mercenary does their missions, based on the reports and video footage collected satellites. A MARB ranking can be a mercenary’s meal ticket.
1. Don't be a jackass. To put it in plain, simple words; criticism is okay, but open and hostile altercation is not.
2. No Bullying. If you don’t like another person there is no reason you need to constantly make them feel miserable. Be the better person and show some tolerance.
3. Please post your character in the OOC or PM me the character before you throw it in the character bin. Also you may not have a Rank one merc right off the bat. Work your way to your rank!
4. Use logic when your making your character. Keep it balanced please. ‘Nuff said.
5. If you want to add another company or race into the rp, send me a PM with an appropriately sized summary of the idea.
6. Have fun! Praise the Sun!
