Sky High [IC]
Tommy jogged downstairs to the kitchen where his mom was cooking breakfast. His dad was sitting at the breakfast nook with a newspaper in hand reading. "Who reads the newspaper anymore?" Tommy joked as he sat down across from him. "Just call me old fashioned," his dad replied, his face still buried in the paper. His mom and dad were both real estate agents. Very good ones at that since they were all well off. "So honey, are you gonna take the bus to school or are you just gonna levitate there?" His mom came over with their plates and sat them down in front of them. She soon joined the both of them at the table. "I'll take the bus. I kinda forgot how it felt," Tommy said chuckling. He started eating his food when his dad's cellphone rang. He answered it, "Hello? Yeah...yeah...alright." He hung up the phone and put down the paper, looking over at his wife. "That was the mayor. Bank robbery downtown." The mom sighed, putting her fork down. "And I was just going to eat..." Both parents stood up and pushed their chairs in. Tommy's mom kissed him on the cheek. "Good luck at school, lil senior." His dad patted him on the head and they were off to go fight crime. Meanwhile, Tommy finished his breakfast and was soon out the door waiting for the bus. Finally the school bus ended up in front of his house. The driver opened the doors and Tommy got inside. "Tommy! Wow I haven't seen you on here since freshman year! How's your folks?" Tommy smiled and sat up front. "They're fine. Out fighting crime already." The bus driver nodded his head and closed the doors. The bus drove off and stopped at the next bus stop.
Emmie fidgeted with the hem of her shirt nervously, nibbling on her lip. Her eyes were trained outside of her seat's window as she tried to find something to focus on other than everyone else's emotions. It wasn't an easy task. She had done as much as she could, plugged her ears up with overly loud headphones, sat as far away from everyone as possible too; but she could still feel them. That was something she couldn't help. Her mother had told her earlier that morning that she should just keep to herself and try to stay quiet, it might help. Her father had told her the complete opposite; to mingle so she could get control over it. Easier said than done. Emmie wished that she could have gotten her mother's ability to read thoughts instead of emotions. How much would that help her in life?
Adriana hurriedly walked out the apartment building. She ran to the bus stop, hoping they don't leave her behind. She made it and she ran a hand through her hair. She wondered who would be there and who would skip. Who do you have to talk too anyway? It's not like you have anything besides classes to be excited for. She sighed and looked around.
I step silently on the bus, my eyes flash over the students and look down as most of them stare at my odd appearance, I walk to the very back and sit in an empty seat, the people in front, behind, and beside me get up and move away for obvious reasons, no one likes the goth kid.
I bring my knees up to my chest and rest my forehead on them, my long hair creating a dark curtain around my face. I close my eyes and sigh quietly, mentally prepairing myself for another day of shit.
I grimace slightly as my arm presses against my arm, I quickly remember the several cigarette burns and bruises from last night's...
I refuse myself the ability to think about it, hating that I do nothing about it, but knowing I can't. I close my eyes and sigh again, pushing the thoughts out of my mind
I hear a girl say to her friend
"What a freak."
They both begin giggling loudly before returning to a conversation about their boyfriend's
Hearing that quickly triggers my depression, and I sink deep into myself, shutting off my thoughts trying to push the increasing sadness, but as always, I fail drastically and allow the morose sadness and depression to flow through me.

Tommy looked out the window as the bus drove to it's next destination. The bus finally stopped where there were a few more students waiting for them. The bus driver opened the door to let them all in. Tommy looked up at them and smiled. Tommy was the president of the student body this year and he had to make a good first impression. A lot of the newer kids were freaking out when they saw Tommy. His parents were legends and the best superheroes out there. So that made him kind of a celebrity through association. Truth be told, he was already used to it. This happened to him ever since freshman year. He always turned red from being embarrassed but that was just the type of person he was. Now it was his senior year. His last year at the school that changed his life forever. "Hurry up kids, on the bus!" exclaimed the driver.
Ari walked on the bus, head hung low. She looked up slightly to look around. A few girls glared at her. She shrugged and said to them "Take a picture. It lasts longer." She smirked and walked to the back of the bus.
Dani got on the bus and she watched as people snickered at her then someone tried to shoot spit balls at her and they stopped midair floating infront of her face and she shot them back at the kid making people who were laughing at her stop short. "I bet you'll fail Power Placement and become a sidekick or get kicked out since you don't even belong here!" Someone said snickering. She walked to an empty seat and sat down. 'I can't remember where I came from and this is how people treat me. Great...' Dani thought
James stepped onto the bus, his headphones already planted firmly over his years. For second he stopped to relish the fact that this would be his last first day of school, come this time next year he would already be out in the world, helping to right its many wrong. This moment of sentimentality over James quickly scouted the back of the bus and seeing an empty seat shadow stepped directly to it.
Nile was running towards the bus stop, all dressed up with his bag flung over his left shoulder. He had one hand on his bag, the other trying to hold his pants from falling down to his ankles. He had a red apple in his mouth and his hair was all done up to perfection. When he reached the bus stop, he stopped to take a breath, huffing and puffing as the others got onto the bus. Nile pulled the apple out of his mouth, taking a large bite out of it. He slid his fingers into the belt loops of his pants and pulled them up, doing a goofy little jig as he did so. When he noticed the kid in front of him getting onto the bus, he stuffed the apple back into his mouth and made his way onto the bus. He nodded to the driver as he passed him, making his way to an empty seat in the back. He tossed his bag onto the empty seat and then jumped down onto it, sprawling out to get all cozy. He was excited for the first day of school, didn't know why, but he was.
