The Other, a Far Eastern RPG
Quote:
In the feudal land of Nippon reign the Emperor of the land with many concubines and even more children, all but one acknowledged by his Majesty. The boy, Akiyama Hiroshi, also know as the Red Prince, was, unknown to all but his parents the eldest of a set of twins by the late Princess of the Sakuya Clan, Kimiko, the Fairest of all of Nippon. The younger twin was spirited away to be trained to be his brother's scapegoat and shield in this turbulent times and learned both the ways of the Shadowy assassin and of the honorable warrior, never to shine and never to have his name uttered.
He was abducted from his dying mother and had his face hidden under fold of coarse cloth he was ruthlessly trained in various martial arts and in politics to take his brother's place in dangerous situations, his spirit very nearly broken by the ordeal. As he pass through his majority, will he continue on as a servant or will he take the merest chance of light and take his brother's place... permanently?
There you go, another idea I had that I wanted to try out, you, the player, will incarnate a nameless would-be prince as he trains and grow up in the ominous shadow of his brother in a desolated retreat, learning the ways of stealth and combat by night and the skills of politics and etiquette by day. This will be a written game where you will have to make your character as powerful and indispensable as possible unless you want him executed or worse, brainwashed and imprisoned. Are you up for that task?
The game will start at your character birth and will end at either his death or if you are lucky, the death of the last of his line.
