We Live to Rise [dat creepr & oddy]
"You've got to be kidding me!"
Of course Hawkeye was the first to have an outburst at the sudden news. Fury just glared down the archer until he sat back down in his seat. "None of us like this Barton but it is going to happen. We have no control over Odin and we should be thankful Thor was able to get away long enough to warn us of Loki's arrival. We've had a bit of time to prepare and all of you are going to have to deal with this." He paused for a moment to look over the Avengers. Clint was fuming and his arms were crossed over his chest. Natasha was shaking her head and patting Clint on the shoulder. Bruce looked bored while Steve was leaning forward as he waited for more. Fury continued on. "The tower will be where you all will be staying until I say otherwise. Stark has set up rooms for all of you. Also, Thor has informed me that another Asgardian will be coming with them. Her name is Aella is this is her file." He tossed a few copies in folders onto the table.
Steve grabbed up a folder and began looking things over. This Aella female didn't seem like much of a threat besides the fact that she was an Asgardian. "It says here that she is to be Loki's keeper?"
"Not his keeper Cap, his guardian. She is here to protect him from you all." Fury looked right at Clint and the rest of the team followed his gaze. Clint puffed his cheeks out and threw his arms up into the air. "I won't try to kill him okay?! God." He hated how everyone just automatically assumed that he would kill Loki on sight. Then again, they were right to assume that. He still wasn't right after what had happened two years ago...
Meanwhile, Aella was busy gathering her things in Asgard. She made sure she had at least two pairs of armor and her sword was as sharp as it needed to be. Loki had been stripped of his powers the day before but Odin had put off his banishment long enough to allow Aella time to prepare. Apparently Midgard wasn't like it used to be the last time she had been there. That had been so long ago. She smiled a bit as she grabbed up her things and placed them in something the mortals called a 'duffel bag'. Thor had brought some back with him in order for them to have more than just one change of clothing and such while they stayed on Midgard. Thor had mentioned something called shopping but Aella still wasn't sure what that was. It sort of sounded fun. She wondered if it involved some sort of combat training.
"Aella? Are you ready?" It was Sif calling out to her. Thor rarely came to her room anymore. They had been good friends, and she had been friends with Loki as well, before she became a Valkyrior and moved to Vahalla with the others. The blond haired woman grabbed her bag and left the room to find Sif standing in the great hallway. "I am ready." Sif smiled and the two made small talk as they headed for the throne room where the others would be. Sif stopped just outside and hugged Aella tight. She wished her good luck as she left to find the Warrior's Three. Taking in a deep breath, Aella walked into the throne room and joined her two fellow travelers.
Odin stood before them. "Loki Laufeyson, I hereby banish you to Midgard until you come to terms with what you've done. You've been stripped of your powers and you will not be allowed back into Asgard until you have learned from the mortals. Aella will be your guardian and Thor will join you as well." With that said, he raised his mighty hammer and sent the three to Midgard. They landed inside the new Avengers Tower just outside of the room where the others were sitting. Before anyone could react, Aella had her sword drawn and she was standing in front of Loki in a defensive stance. Her blue eyes scanned over those just on the other side of the glass. They were all looking at the trio.
"Calm yourself Aella. None of these mortals will harm Loki." Thor told her as he put a hand on her shoulder. Aella relaxed and sheathed her sword. Her eyes stayed locked on the group anyway. It wasn't like she knew these people or she could trust them but Thor trusted them and she trusted Thor. The female turned and looked at Loki. "You had better be lucky Odin sent me to protect you. Thor trusts these mortals far too much." She smirked slightly as Thor looked at her with a hurt expression on his face. "What? Its true."
Fury walked out of the meeting room and greeted Thor. "We welcome you as well Aella. I hope you find your stay here to be uneventful." Aella snorted but nodded. She hoped things wouldn't stay too boring around here.
