Golden Age of Piracy IntChk
So, I was looking at the Casual part of the site, and I couldn't find a really decent RP about pirates. Actual pirates, not space pirates of magic pirates in another dimension, no. I wanted one that's in the Golden Age of Piracy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Age_of_Piracy), with heated battles in between large frigate warships and large groups of Man-of-Wars. Problem is, I need ideas on how to run this. Like, ways to RP, rules, character limit, that stuff. Also, I wanted to get a count of how many people are initially interested.
What I thought of so far was this:
An RP that is based in the early to mid 1700's, the Golden Age of Piracy. The main idea I had was that there would be 6 famed pirates with crews and ships(first come-first serve), and there was armadas of English trying to constantly catch them. The characters can't really be based off of actual known pirates like Blackbeard, they have to be original pirates. The pirates are sort of indifferent to the others, or at least, that's how it starts. Each pirate has their own crew and ship, reasons of obtaining them will be in the CS. They could know the others personally, but for the most part, all of them haven't become acquainted with each other. The pirates could all encounter others at some point, it doesn't matter. You don't even have to be a pirate. You could be a Captain for the King and try to hunt down the pirates!
The main focus of this RP... well, I don't know. See, it would be about 6 captains, but that's about all I got. I was hoping to get ideas from the RPG community. I think that's a way more effective way of putting together an RP. You get a lot of opinions. I was kind of thinking like there's one treasure that they're all looking for, or they're rivals and constantly try to out-pirate the others. Basically, it can be anything as long as it's realistic.
