~Supernatural : Dark Rising~ {IC} [Katie & Rego]

The black and red Camaro roared down the road, a young brunette at the wheel. In the passenger seat sat a German Shepherd Dog, his head out the window and tongue sticking out of his open mouth. The driver reached into a bag of chips that sat on the center console, and after popping one into her mouth she held one out for her companion. He gladly accepted the gift, and in return left her hand dripping with slobber. "Aw, c'mon Kahne! Did you have to do that?" She shook her head and laughed, wiping her hand on a napkin that she pulled from the glove box. She placed her hands back on the wheel and drove down the road, and soon enough a big green sign on the side of the road read "Independence Missouri - 12 miles".

Twenty minutes later, the same Camaro pulled into a motel in the town of Independence. She got out and walked into the office, looking to the receptionist. "Yeah, I'll take one room please. Single bed," the lady behind the counter nodded and asked for an ID. Digging through her wallet, the girl went past her real ID which read "Kennedy Morgan" and went for the credit card and ID with "Susan McGill" on it. "Okay, Ms. McGill, here is the key to your room. Call the office if you need anything." Kennedy smiled and nodded, walking back out to her car and parking it in front of the room she was given.

Moments later, she had her suitcase and things inside, along with her canine companion. Kenny closed the door to the room and went through her suitcase, pulling out a clean change of clothes before heading into the bathroom to take a shower. She had been driving for a whole day straight, and felt gross. After she got out, she instantly felt better. Kennedy grabbed her laptop out of its bag and turned it on, also grabbing an old tattered journal and setting it on the table. She began researching recent news headlines in the area, and the first one she came to was "Three Found Dead In Mysterious Murder."

"Mr Renolds, welcome to Richard Roman."


When the employer finished his sentance, Harry got up, and left the room with his Richard Roman Enterprises ID card strung around his neck. He was escorted by a secretary and they both walked into the elevator. Soon, Harry arrived at the top floor, and was escorted to his desk, which was clean and smelt of lemon. He held his box of stuff in his hands, and set them down. He looked up, to see a young girl, about 19 peeking over the other side. She noticed him looking at her, and quickly bopped down back into her seat. Harry peered over to his neighbors desk.


It was like a trash can. Crunched up papers in one pile, PC games stacked on top of one another in the corner. Drawings of Fantasy elf archers and scantily dressed woman warriors pinned up on her reminder board. Harry inspected the girl. "19, Red Hair, Obviously a nerd..." Harry thought. He looked down onto her desk again, to see a pair of thick, black hipster glasses. "DEFINITELY a nerd." Harry thought.

"What are you lookin' at?"

Harry looked over to the girl again, and examined her again. He noticed a red tattoo on her shoulder. She looked at him, putting down her comic book. "Something up?" she asked. "If you like the tattoo, There's more where that came from..." She said, smiling. "Name's Charlie Macdonald." She shook Harry's hand. "You?"

Harry thought for a moment. "Lee..." He said, shaking Charlie's hand. "Lee Renolds." He sat back down in his office, and looked at a newspaper. "Three found dead in Mysterious Murder." Harry had it all planned out. Since he left Virginia, he would find things that went bump in the night. Things what would and could not be explained. Things that even god himself fears.

Kennedy read through the article that had popped up about the three murdered people. The victims were all three males, and according to the report, they were all good buddies and had been found murdered in an alley. They had supposedly been walking home after having a few drinks at the bar, and then were attacked. They police were not sure who the murderer was, there were no witnesses and no known security cameras in the area. The men all had cuts all over their bodies, all were mangled messes and had died from loss of blood and traumatic injuries.

Kenny put her face in her hands and took a deep breath. Okay, it's a start... She then took the names of the men from the article and wrote them on a small notepad she pulled from one of her bags. Jerry Hamilton, Mark McArthur, Thomas Sullivan. She clicked the pen and set it down on top of the pad on the table. For another hour or so, Kennedy kept reading into the story, finding similarities between all reports, and of course differences. The first thing she would need to do in the morning was make her way to the police station and get some official information from the reporting officers. Satisfied with her developing plan, she turned her laptop off and put it away.

She made her way over to the bed to dig through her bag and find her wallet again. Once she had retrieved it, Kenny smiled and grabbed her keys, walking out the door to her car. She locked the motel room behind her and got into her car, starting it. She took off down the road further into Independence, in search of a food joint. After a half hour of searching, she decided on the pizza shack that sat on a corner downtown. She parked her car and walked inside, taking a seat at a table in the corner. A waiter approached her and handed her a menu, after a few moments Kenny looked to him, "I'll have a Heineken and a slice of bacon cheddar pizza please." He nodded and walked away to get her drink. Kennedy took a drink of the beer when he returned and looked to the TV on one of the walls, where the news was playing.

Harry got up, and decided to walk into the coffee room. He noticed that no one was there and saw this as a chance. He picked up his phone and Dialed Kenny. He heard a 'Hello?'



"Yeah, hey it's Harry. You near Chicago yet?" He asked, his hand in his pocket. "I just got to Richard Roman, You do still remember the Check point. Right?" He asked. "If you're gonna ask how my day was at work, then don't, it was crap. I met this strange nerdy girl who's my Office neighbor...." Harry said "Just get to Chicago quickly, ok? I heard the murders have been taking place here in Chicago...."

Kennedy's attention was taken from the flashing light of the television as her phone rang in her pocket, looking at the screen it read: Incoming call: Harry. She pressed the green answer button and responded with a "Hello?" Kenny listened as Harry replied back to her, asking if she was near Chicago yet. "Well, I'm in Missouri. I could be there tomorrow afternoon," She listened again, and laughed as he explained the situation with his co-worker. "Just play nice, I'll be there tomorrow. Going to crash here tonight, then head out early morning. I'll call you when I get into town, keep a tab on those murders, will ya? I've got some information on it myself." With that, Kenny clicked End Call and put her phone back into her pocket. She sipped at her beer and grinned when her pizza arrived. She ate it slowly, finishing off her first beer and requesting another from the waiter. Her obliged and popped the top off of it as he sat it down in front of her. Kennedy thanked him and then took a drink and another bite of pizza, requesting a slice to go.

After taking a relaxing and slow dinner, Kennedy paid her bill and made her way to her car. By the time she made it back to her motel room it was ten o'clock at night. Kenny grabbed the paper bag that the extra slice of pizza was put in and unlocked the door to her room. Kahne nearly knocked her over as she stepped in, his nose picking up the smell of the pizza. "Geez, calm down. Here," she took the pizza out of the bag and set it on the floor for him. The big dog munched on it, crunching noises coming as he chewed. Kenny shook her head and smiled, then made her way to her suitcase to change. Soon enough, she was in bed and asleep.

Harry looked outside the coffee room, to notice almost everyone else was gone.... Except for Charlie. She seemed to be glued to her computer, typing away at her computer. She seemed to be playing a PC game on her computer. Harry slowly walked up behind her, and noticed she was playing World of Warcraft on her PC. "Should you be really doing that?" He asked. Charlie Yelped, and quit out of the program. 'I'M SORRY I DIDN'T MEAN TO. PLEASE DON'T FIRE ME!" She said rather quickly, then turned around. She hit Harry on the shoulder. "Don't do that!" She said, turning back around. "Well anyways, I'm Going.... Lock up when you're done!" Harry said, packing his bag up. He left, and closed the door.

Kennedy awoke early in the morning, her alarm waking her up. She groaned and rolled over, not wanting to get up. A cold wet object touched her face and she opened her eyes to reveal her dog, awake and ready to go. "Damnit... fine." She got out of bed and took a quick shower, then packed all of her things and checked out of the motel. She got into her car, Kahne taking his place in the passenger seat. "Alright, here we come Chicago." She tore out of the parking lot and onto the highway, headed north to Illinois.

About 9 hours later, Kenny arrived in the Windy City. She drove down the streets of downtown Chicago and looked up at the large buildings that made up this concrete forest. Noticing a large building that said Richard Roman Enterprises, Kenny smiled. "Here we go," She pulled up outside the building and parked her car. The building was huge, and she knew she wouldn't be getting in without proper ID. Instead, she grabbed her phone and dialed Harry. "Hey, Harry. I'm here in Chicago, outside of Richard Roman right now. Take your lunch break or something and let's talk."

Harry approached Kenny from Behind. "I don't have to start working for a while Kenny..." He said, he stepped back, and hung up his phone. "How was the drive? I would expect that you would enjoy it coming from you...." He smirked, and stuffed his phone in his trench coat pocket, and looked at Kenny for a response.
