Infinite Worlds IC
A simple fact of life with an organization the size of the Infinity Patrol was that there was an awful lot of bureaucracy and administration work that needed to be done. Rather than have their valuable field agents spend time shuffling paper about, there was a special caste of the Patrol that dealt with the logistics of running around through realities. They are the Handlers, their flat green masks obscuring their identities- there was supposedly some symbolism behind that, but the fact of the matter is that it never really trickled down far enough to reach the people who interact with the Handlers on a day-to-day basis.
The particular handler that we are interested in was currently sitting at his desk with his head in his hands, seriously contemplating getting back into his drinking habit.
He had several dossiers scattered across the desk in front of him, and part of him couldn't help but wonder what he was being punished for- it clearly must be something, they way they kept setting him up with the agents that weren't fit to be put anywhere else. Some of the faces in this lot were even familiar, but that just meant that he had more of a clear idea of exactly which ways they would likely cause any given mission they went on to implode violently. He sighed, wishing that for once, just once, this beggar could be a chooser.
He finally looked up, looking back and forth between the two people currently sitting in the room- one a small white unicorn with a smug expression, the other a man with a burning skull and a rather nice set of brass goggles. It was a measure of how strange his life had gotten that he considered the small pony more dangerous to the overall capabilities of the team than the flaming skeleton. He steepled his fingers and leaned forward.
"Despite all logic and reason, they've put you two on another team- a new team of course, lord knows we can't have you causing the removal of a veteran from the surface of existence. They should be arriving any minute now, have you had a chance to look over-" He was interrupted by a short laugh from the unicorn, who had produced a file from somewhere and was currently touching up one of her hooves. "-no, of course you haven't. I don't know why I bother asking you. Hopefully Mr..." He looked over one of the files, a page adorned with the picture of the man with the flaming skull popping a thumbs up in the ID image. "...Mr. Hazard has taken a bit more initiative than you. All of them were quite capable when we found them, but when it comes to world jumping they're all as green as grass. I hope this isn't too much to ask, but could you please bring some of them back alive this time?
A light blinked once on his desk before the door slid open, casting a ray of light into the otherwise dark room. "Ah, looks like they're arriving."
Treize entered the room and looked around and saw a man with a strange burning skull. It must have been some fancy parlour trick or else he was in for something he never knew with the Preventers. He then saw a horse and the first thought to mind was it was not a horse but likely some sort of alien. It was interesting to say the least especially with the man in the mask looking over the files up there. He would need to analyze this all later for now he had to introductions after all he couldn't be so rude in front of his new partners. "Greetings I am Treize Khushrenada of the Preventers Agency. I was sent here by my friend Vice Foreign Minister Relena Dolton. I am here to join your team and I hope that our efforts will be fruitful." Treize said as he entered the room and nodded his head politely. His fencing sword hung at his waist and a pistol strapped to the other. He disliked the use of fire arms however because it was no chivalrous to use them. But he knew it was necessary to carry one of the weapons and thus he was willing to carry one. He longed for the days of knights and being able to fairly fight his enemy. But as Zechs said Chivalry is long gone…
Max Hazzard....SCIENCE!!! Rider. Looked up from his work on the whirring mass of gears and tubes in front of him.
"I have to wonder why you think that Rarity is the problem with your last few attempts. Ive reviewed the mission transcripts and from all accounts she was the only thing that was holding her respective teams together in the face of cataclysmic reality revision and wanton stupidity. As for the new team, don't worry. I grabbed a copy of your database when I got here."
He tilts his head to the side and text scrolls over the goggles
"Hmm...mostly hard science, that's a nice change....only one evil twin...and the giant robot!"
Max grins broadly, making a note to inquire about the logistics of the machine.
"Definitely a better choice then the superintelligent kaiju."
Toggling off the display he looks over to the green man.
"They seem like pretty swell guys all and all."
The hiss of the opening door catches max's attention.
"Robot man! Speak of the devil."
Why am I even here?... Black Rock Shooter repeated this in her head numerous times. Just why exactly is an average school girl doing here in the first place?...wel, she isn't exactly normal if you really know her that well. From her genetic coding and psychologically, almost anything about her would explain why she isn't normal. Especially from all of the things she's experienced ever since she took hold of a gun, the world around her has flipped upside down. Where would she even go? No one would want to handle with a girl who's an emotional wreck, a girl who can see things no one could, a girl who's actually named from birth "Black Rock Shooter". She couldn't return to her normal life, knowing her friends Dead Master and Strength wouldn't accept her as a murderer. It wasn't her fault though, she needed to do that out of self defense, but when was there a time where people actually listen to her? Black Rock Shooter sighed, she didn't want to pull herself into the sea of questioning questions again. Not now in particular. Maybe this would put her into good use, who knows? Maybe she could even find something to enjoy once in life here.
Nervously walking in like it was the first day at high school, Black Rock Shooter apprehensively walking into the room, her legs literally wobbling by how shaky she was when meeting new people. There were four people inside this room, excluding herself. At the far-most side of the room, there was a man who masked himself in green, a strange way to conceal one's identity. She wasn't going to be curious about that, but she was confused once she saw that one had a burning skull and one that was a pony. When Black Rock Shooter was revealed to her Other Self that she could "see" things that others can't, this wasn't a part of it, this was all visible to all, which was a bit confusing for her timid head. Then she looked up to the man who seemed to have walked in before. This man aside her could be the most normal person out of the bunch, but his attire somewhat stood out as well.
"Oh....hi...I guess...I'm...I-I'm Black Rock Shooter," she spoke with a shaky breath the moment she walked in. It was already obvious that this was going to be embarrassing, but how would she be able to feel comfortable knowing that she has so much going on in her head?
Rarity leaned back in her seat, brushing a stray strand of hair back into place. "Honestly darling, you bear far more resemblance to the devil than Blondie here." She turned in her seat, smiling at Treize and Black Rock. "You may call me Rarity, and before you ask, yes, I am in fact a Unicorn. Also, sir, you might wish to stop introducing yourself in that fashion. After all, if you're in this room-" she turned back away from him. "It means you're working with us now, not whatever agency you were a part of." She stretched, making a show of being relaxed without turning back to face them.
"I'm afraid I've been a bit busy and just have not had the time to go over your files-" She shot a glare at the handler as he let out a groan. "-Hush, you. As I was saying, I haven't had the time. What can you tell me about your fine selves? They wouldn't have brought you in if they didn't think you could be useful in some regard."
Lukas Bastonne entered into the office looking around at the people who are going to be his team mates, a small unicorn, a man with a flaming skull, a teen and well dress man. He listen to each one introduce them self taking note of there personality. 'So this team i was assigned to, better introduce my self' he thought to him self. "Im Lukas Bastonne 55th voltage 'diamond 'eads' regiment, I look forward to work with you all," he said with a grin and some pride recounting the memory of the regiment. He unsling his lasgun and pack from his shoulder setting it down near a chair, then taking his seat.
"I was a part of two organizations ones that held a lot of power each. But I will do my best to serve this one as well as I did the former two. However I'd like to say one simply does not leave a star out of the Zodiac Alignment. Regardless I'm sure we will do many graceful things for the worlds we live in and we will influence a great many things. It is an honor to be joined with so many distinquished people. I am glad to have a chance to work with all of you and hope that we shall make a better future for us all." Treize said calmly and passively as he bowed gracefully to those around him and offered to shake the hand of each one of them. If they didn't have hands he'd grab whatever they used and shook that politely as well. He had an air of charisma and experience about him.
Oh boy. This wasn't going to be much to say, as Black Rock Shooter didn't really have much to say about herself. All that's happened with her was that she shot down a person that was stalking her, and that's it. There wasn't anything special about her, but she might as well as this silence would have to be undone by her. "Well...I, erm....was in high school, then I dropped out...I shot down someone that wanted to kill me...and I was being accused of murder when it was just for self defense....I also have this special...sight I guess...I kinda can see things that most of you can't...I'm not sure what else to say about myself or...that..." she spoke shyly, twiddling her fingers. At least she said something than just being silent.
"Aw don't listen to my partner here, shes a real solid field commander but not much of a people pony."
"Despite what her or anybody else says..." Max shoots a pointed glace at the handler "...were happy to have you guys here. Heck nobody's even tried to destroy the building yet...which is a noticeable improvement."
Getting up from the table he tosses his gear back into his satchel and grasps Treize's outstretched hand in a hearty clasp.
"I read in your file you designed and optimized a space capable combat suit. What are you using as a power source? Have you hit the high energy resonance barrier?"
"I see you are also a fellow man who has an aptitude for constructing things? I don't like to do it personally I prefer talking things out rather than killing to be honest." Treize said smiling and nodding. He shook the man's hand and politely nodded his head. " However to answer your question I built three mobile suits all of which I based on different designs. The first would be the Gundam Epyon which held no ranged weapons and was built according to my tastes that true warriors only fight up close. It had a Ultracompact Fusion Reactor designed by myself after the Gundam Wing 01 Mobile Unit. The second was based off Tallgeese which I call Tallgeese ll it uses a less powerful but still strong Ultracompact Fusion Reactor. Finally Tallgeese lll my pride and joy built after Epyon and the Infamous Wing Gundam Zero. It has the power to destroy a resource sateliate in a single shot with its mega cannon rifle. It also has a couple other weapons as well but it runs off a Ultracompact fusion reactor as well but on par with Epyon. Does that satisfy you my friend? I am being so upfront with you to prove that I am willing to work with all of you." Treize said in a long winded explanation and he didn't once stutter or stop to think. "As for you young lady it is nice to meet you as well. I'm sure that your skills will come in handy. But don't worry I'm sure you will be as good as you are pretty. Just try your best and dont push to hard." Treize said to the black haired young lady he smiled at her kindly.
