Vikings: The Feared Pirates of the Sea

Vikings: The portion of the Scandinavian population that went and roamed the seas, attacking civilizations and taking any treasures they could find. Their actions gave way to the nickname of the entire population of the area. But we're not talking about any big, fearsome viking clans that have taken over many civilizations and are already feared. Instead, this is a story about a small viking clan that has never been a threat because of how small it is. Our tale starts in their small village on the coast...

Svadi was in the village's hand-built training grounds, practicing with his sword, since he didn't have anything else to do.

"Ah ..." Magnus said as he watched Svadi from a few feet away. "I remember when you were just a kid, Svadi, my god how you were so bad at sword fighting!" Magnus then laughed and drank a bit of Mead Wine.

Svadi smirked. "You mean when I was 5 years old?"

Malafor was in the building where he kept his maps. He took out a map of Scandanavia and looked at the tiny spot where their clan was. He sighed and looked at the bigger viking clans, wishing their clan was as prestigious and feared as them.

Though the sky was clear and the day bright a certain feel of an approaching storm could be felt. Olav - the warlord of the small clan paced around his smoke filled longhouse. After a while the scarred man made his way out. He carried with him all of his weapons and smiled faintly. This whole trip had been planned well ahead of time, but still there was that niggling doubt in the back of his head. Silently the tall man made his way to the training grounds and spat on the dirt.

fenrir was at the smith working on an axe when he saw savdi training

"No ..." Magnus started to say to Svadi. "When you were 12!" Magnus then broke into a fit of laughter and fell backwards. After a few seconds of silence, Magnus continued to laugh, opened his mouth, took the cup of mead, and poured it into Magnus's mouth.

Eira stood on the range as she pulled back an arrow, the on her bow nice and tight. She took an deep breath, her finger released the line. The arrow flew gracefully through the air hitting the middle of the target perfectly. Eira smiled, pleased with the results of her months of practice. Today her long dark brown hair that curled in soft waves, was tied back into a long braid. Her sea green eyes glisened with happiness as she ran towards the target to take out her arrow.

Olav took a deep breath "You should be gathering your belongings by now." His thunderging voice rang out and made his prescence properly known to those present in the training grounds "We'll set sail before noon." The Warlord spat on the ground again and smiled faintly "It's time to go on another raid - just like we planned."
