Rise of the Guardians
The Story (May contain spoilers for movie)
When Pitch was defeated, he vanished and took the concept of fear with him. This caused an unforeseen problem that the Guardians never anticipated: children need fear. Humans need fear. Fear protected children and humans much more than the Guardians ever could since it lasted long into their adult years. In the ages of early man, Pitch guided them into the trees with fear to protect them from predators. In the Dark Ages, his fear protected them from monstrous creatures like dragons and sirens. Without him to bestow fear in people, they grew bold and reckless. To put it bluntly, people began dying because they forgot fear.
Common sense became a thing of the past without Pitch enforcing fear. It was something the Guardians never imagined could happen but Pitch was old, older than the rest of them. He was a vital part of the world but now he was gone. Naturally, the Guardians decided to seek out their old foe in attempt to get the people to fear once more since otherwise they would continue to die horrific deaths. But after his terrible defeat, just what rock is Pitch hiding under? After consulting one another, the Guardians decided they need help. But who?
