This is how it is, a long while back Earth got used up so we found a new galaxy and made a whole ton of new earths... but you know that already. In the most recent decade the Alliance got sucker punched when Miranda went cross the verse and they had to buckle down hard once it did. Independants cross the verse cried out "We knew it!" and even once loyal Alliance citizen started to question the methods of their government. The spirit of the once great Alliance was shattered, the public support reduced to ashes once everyone knew they were the cause for Reavers when they tried to change the human condition. More recently the Alliance has had to call their purple bellies out to put down a number of protests that inevitably heated up into full fledged riots. And all this in only 3 years, word has it that the Independants are gathering an army to strike out at the alliance and break free at last.

My name is Captain Adam Decker, you can call me Dex. I captain a Sparrow class Freight ship named "Liberty"... can't say I have been captaining her for long though, looking for a crew... I've already got a Pilot and First Mate, could use a mechanic, maybe a fighter or two, and I may just take on a companion..... or two. I am still getting a hang of this captainy thing...

Former companion on extended contract to an alliance officer durring the unification wars when her ship was attacked and crashed. He was horribly disfigured and it took too long for him to be recovered for the doctors to do anything to save his face and right arm. The damage was too deep in body and soul so he left the guild and put his delicate hands, er, hand to learning surgical skills.
