Roommates (Castiel and MurderVictim)
The day was a beautiful one, hosting very warm and pleasant weather. For the middle of winter, that was a very desirable thing. The previous week's snowfall had melted, not a trace left. Nor was there any ice from the early morning's freeze, which was a very good thing for the young college student who was making her way up to her new apartment. The boxes piled in her arms would have prevented her from catching herself if she slipped, and the cement stairs looked very unforgiving.
Making it up to the top, Riley glimpsed at the numbers on the doors, eventually finding the right one. Towards the end of the row, the door stood locked, a true obstacle for the nineteen year-old. Groaning in annoyance, she balanced the boxes on one arm and on her chest, while her other hand dug into her jeans pocket. After a bit of a struggle, she got the door open, letting her key stay in the lock as she stepped inside. Light flooded in, the inside of the apartment furnished with a small couch, a couple chairs, and a table in the tiny kitchen. The college provided it in favor of traditional dorms, hoping to encourage more and more students to stay for another year of college. The down side? She had a roommate. And a guy, from what she could tell by the name on the listing. Well, a guy could be easier to handle than another girl...Hopefully.
Setting the boxes down on the kitchen table, she wiped her forehead. Her baggy hoodie and jeans weren't really suited for a warm day. She had worn her dark brown hair in a ponytail, her hands tightening it before she sat down. Briefly, she wondered when her new roommate would appear, glancing at the ticking clock. She still had a couple bigger boxes to drag in, plus her mattress; hopefully, he'd be around (and willing) to help.
