[High Casual to Low Advanced] Bye-Bye Batsy!
Commissioner James Gordon shook his head and crossed his arms as he leaned against the door frame outside the operating room of the morgue. His daughter was sitting in silence on a bench, her nose buried in a tissue and her eyes red and puffy from crying. Dick and Tim sat there also, as well as the wife, Selina and her daughter, Helena. Widow... a term that was going to be stuck to the woman forever if the man wasn't just in some sort of coma or in a deep sleep.
The sun from outside gave the room a false sense of warmth and glow to the sterile, white room, the pale, white lights in the ceiling, and the smell of blood and formaldehyde. One of the lights above was going out, flickering rapidly and humming.
James rubbed his face, then looked down the hall at the approaching coroner. The coroner walked down the hall slowly, his black shoes clicking on the white tile, breaking the hollow, empty silence. Everyone looked up at the very tall, lanky man with a mask over his face. He seemed unnaturally pale, from the bit of him that was visible, and he had a long nose underneath the mask. Selina stood and approached the man, keeping her composure as best as she could.
"Ms.Wayne, if I may call you that... We're sorry to inform you that Mr.Wayne has been pronounced dead... It is a shame. I suggest calling a funeral home," the man said. Selina caught her voice and nodded, covering her face.
"W-what... what happened to him?" she asked, shaking badly. The coroner cleared his throat, speaking very monotone. A morgue worker then walked down the hall, a pair of glasses resting on her nose and her blonde hair pulled tightly into a bun. She kept her face down at her shoes, so her face was hidden.
"We believe he was poisoned by someone very skilled in poisons. This wasn't just your average poison, it was something that has no record of ever being used before. It went straight to his brain and made it rot within three hours. Painfully, I believe. We've sent some of it to forensics to analyze it further," the coroner explained. "We're sorry for your loss," he told them, then turned from the group and headed back down the hall, leaving the widow's soft sobs behind him. The blonde turned and followed, entering one of the rooms down the hall after the coroner.
Helena looked up at her mother, her big blue eyes the same shade as her father's. Selina swallowed her tears and lifted the young girl, brushing a lock of wavy black hair behind the girl's ear. "Is Daddy coming home soon?" Helena asked, swallowing hard and keeping her eyes on her mother. All eyes were on them now, and Helena seemed to know that she wouldn't like the answer.
"N-no baby," Selina whispered, keeping her tears down the best she could. "D-daddy won't be home for... a very l-long time," she shook as she spoke. Helena's lip quivered gently and she laid her head on Selina's shoulder.
The room emptied out, leaving James standing there alone in the buzz of the lights.
"This city is going to fall apart..." he whispered to himself, then turned out of the building.
"I can't beee-lieve it! We really got 'em!" Joker laughed, clicking his heels together and pulling the mask off his face. "We just waltzed right up to Commissioner Gordon and the entire bat brood without so much as a second glance! Oh and the look on Selina Kyle's face! Oh, pardon me... Selina Wayne, the now single mother and grieving widow!" he giggled, speaking theatrically as always. He smiled at Harley, who was changing back into her jumpsuit.
"And I can't believe how well you did pooh! Oh you were silent as a bad comedian's audience!" He praised, making the clown girl squeal with excitement. Joker giggled and kissed her cheek, then turned to Bruce Wayne, who was cold, stiff, and very much dead. Harley put her hands on her hips, looking at Bruce Wayne as well.
"Whatcha gonna do to 'em puddin'?" she asked, her doll-like Jersey accent filling the room. Joker turned Bruce Wayne's head side to side, looking the man over critically.
"I'm going to let the poor Ms.Wayne attend the funeral, then we're gonna dig ol' Brucey up, and see how a rich boy burns..." Joker explained, releasing Bruce Wayne's chin and letting a shrill cackle through the quiet, empty morgue.
This is going to be a roleplay with parts for each of the bat-family, including young Helena and Selina Wayne (Kyle). There will also be a few parts open for villains, such as Harley Quinn, the Penguin, and Two-Face. I will be playing the part of the Joker, but all other parts are open. First come, first served. There is no real Plot set yet, but I'm thinking of using arcs like "Poison Ivy is attacking the blah blah blah". Y'know, LEGO commercial type pitches.
