A New Philosophy (FMA Roleplay OOC)

The Elric Brothers' legend is well known, their deeds great and their names known across the land. They have succeeded in doing what no man had done before, they found the Philosopher's stone and restored their bodies, destroying the homunculi who had plagued them. Now they are known as the greatest of the State Alchemists, but they have not been seen for many years. The Philosopher's Stone was lost to the unknown and life has moved on. Twenty years have passed and Roy Mustang is now Fuhrer and Alex Louise Armstrong is a Colonel in the State Military. A new crop of State Alchemists have sprung up and the country seems to be at peace. But appearances can be deceiving, for something is stirring from it's rest. A new force born of the past is rising in power and creating new Homunculi to do it's bidding. It's goals and nature are unknown, but this much is clear: This force is powerful and will do all in it's power to control the whole of the country of Amestris. Who will you choose to be? The savior of the country, or it's conqueror?

Basically you can be a Homunculus or a State Alchemist, fighting to save the country or to help the Being(I'm going to keep it's name secret for now so that it will add a bit of mystery to the plot.)

I don't mind romance but please no sexy stuff here. Take that to PM's if you please. This will be an adventure style roleplay, most of the Homunculus and State Alchemists will be traveling together(within their respective groups of course). Also, I don't want any characters at odds with another of their group, if you are a State Alchemist then you are going to cooperate with the group and ditto for the Homunculi. I'd like to establish a posting order at some point later after everyone's characters are filled out. I've got Character sheet's I'd like you to adhere to as well, one for the Homunculi and one for the State Alchemists. Here they are.

Name: Vera Curador (The Life-Giving Alchemist)

Type of Alchemy: Alkahestry ~ She uses her talents to heal people.
Strengths: Healing, loyal, dedicated, hard-working.
Weaknesses: She is unable to perform any other type of Alchemy besides Alkahestry, and she can only use that to heal people, but not herself. Skittish, timid, frequently has nightmares.

Appearance: Vera has long brown hair and light blue eyes, often keeping her hair back in a ponytail to keep it out of her eyes. She is rather short, standing at just 5'3" which makes her uncomfortable around most people because she ends up being shorter than them. She tries to keep herself out of sight as much as possible, lurking on the edges of rooms and standing with a slouched posture unless absolutely necessary, making herself seem even shorter than she already is.

Personality: Vera is very shy and quiet, finding it difficult to initiate or even continue a conversation with someone. She startles easily, which means she spends most of her time looking for a possible threat. Vera is eager to please, meaning she follows orders to the letter and as quickly and well as she possibly can. She prefers not to use her Alkahestry unless absolutely necessary because it draws undue attention to herself, and she almost never gives out her title unless asked directly by an officer that outranks her. She is nervous and skittish around men and in large crowds because of her attack.

History: Vera spent most of her life thinking she could not use Alchemy, so she worked odd jobs that she could manage to find until she eventually heard about Alkahestry and discovered her talent for it, becoming one of the first healers in the military. Not long after she joined she was attacked by a group of men walking home, and is thus now unable to have children and has nightmares and is wary of men and crowds because of it.

Spiritdragon, I'm not sure that your character would work, as healing alchemy is human alchemy and therefore forbidden and even impossible without the Philosopher's Stone. Could you maybe rework her abilities?

Specialty: Julia uses iron from the earth to forge weapons to use in combat ranging from a curved sabre to a variety of polearms. The 'Wind' in her title is a refference to her speed with her blades. As training with hand to hand and blades is somewhat homogenous she is also capable with unarmed combat although not quite as deadly.
Personality: Julia is confident with herself and trusts in her own abilities. She is a big flirt, very open about her sexuality, and not afraid to speak her mind. Overall she is a very cheerful person and laid back. Her casual attitude in combat situations comes from her confidence and knowledge of her own limitations. She is not above retreating from a fight if she is blatantly outmatched.

Not really since she's built for using Alkahestry which is different from Alchemy. She can't use amestrian alchemy at all.

Personality: Slightly off in the head but an all around good guy. Always trying to help with occasional experiment blowing up in his face. Extremely smart but not the best fighter. (Borderline coward) often letting the "bigger guns" handle the heavy lifting.

Bio: Alistair had just become an alchemist when the Elric brothers made their debut in the State Military. He spent most of his time doing research into weaponry, working on creating a perfect alchemically created weapon based on the institute of the knight. During his tenure in Central he met another alchemist who, in oppose of him, was working on creating the perfect suit of armor. At the age of twenty five he married the love of his life and they worked on their research together. Over the next five years they continued to work on creating the perfect alchemical armament for soldiers. On his thirtieth birthday he lost his wife to an unknown disease. Wrecked with grief he attempted human transmutation but couldn't go through with it. For the past eight years he has been continuing the research that both he and his wife had worked on hoping to honor her memory.

State Alchemist Name: The Nitrogenium Alchemist

Alchemic Specialty (if alchemist): Andrew's Alchemy revolves around the rapid compression and liquification of Nitrogen. As a compressed liquid nitrogen as a room temperature of around -200C and can cause frostbite instantly if touched. Andrew has a braclet on each wrist that he use to compress and control the nitrogen in its liquid form. Andrew braclets also allow him to make other Nitrogen based chemicals such as NoX.

Other: As an MP special investigator Andrew is trained with all of the major military weapons and hand to hand techniques. Andrew main skills is the driving of military vehicles.

Bio: Andrew grew up in the southern regions of Amestris. He was the second son of a wealthy farming family Andrew never wanted for anyting. However, despite his excellent upbringing and opportunites, Andrew was a problem child. As a young boy he would get into fights with his siblings and the local children of the farm hands and villagers. The problems only got worse as he grew up, he was a bully and he thought himself a ladies man. When several accusations were made against him that he was 'defiling' the local villages daughters his father made the decision to send him to the military academy in South City.

Being intelligent, resourcful and incredibly well connected Andrew found his time at the academy a breeze. He come out top in several of his classes and finished in the top 10 in his years group. It was at his time in the military academy that he developed his skills with alchemy. Alchemy was new to the military when Andrew started in the academy, the state certificate had only been in place for a few years. Andrew continued to train with alchemy and it was at this point that the higher up really started to take notice of Andrew. They molded and shaped him into the perfect soldier and he received his pocket watch and state title from King Bradley when he was only 24 years old.

It was the Ishbalan incident that changed Andrew. He had always know that they were being trained to be a 'human weapon' but it didn't really hit him until the extermination was already in full swing. The sights and sounds that he saw during those years on the front changed Andrew. He lost much of his carefree attitude and he began to care about life more than he had ever done at any other point in his life.

After Ishbalan came Mustang coup and the removal of Furher King Bradley. During this period Andrew was in charge of a battalion fighting on the borders with Aerugo, so he missed all of the action in Central City. During the rise of Furher Grumman Andrew was made XO of South Cities MP's, which is the post he is currently stationed at.

Reason for joining the state: Initially Andrew was against joining the military but life as an officer cadet and serving on the Ishbalan frontlines meant that is know a Hard-line militarist and firming on the Furher Armstrongs faction.

Spiritdragon: Your abilities have to conform to the rules laid out by the anime, you can't add things that break the rules. Please rework the abilities of your character.

Archangel 89: While I like the idea, his specialty is a bit too similar to Julia's. Please discuss a distinction/compromise with Hikari and get back to me on what you've decided.
